Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a Puretec No Hard Water Bypass. Your bypass is a proven performer
manufactured from only quality materials and components.
The WTV7550 No Hard Water Bypass can be used to provide a no hard water bypass during a
regeneration = nHbP
Please follow the initial installation guidelines carefully. If you require any assistance, please

Caution: Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or with water of unknown
quality without adequate disinfection before or aer the system.
Note: Do not lubricate the motor or the gears. To install the motor, move the spring clip loop
to the right and hold.
Gently turn the motor while inserting so that the gear on the motor meshes with the gears
under the drive gear cover.
Release the spring clip loop and continue to rotate the motor until the wires are horizontal
and the motor housing engages the small plastic bulge inside the drive bracket motor
retainer. Reconnect the motor plug to the two-pronged jack on the lower le side of the PC
board. If the motor will not easily engage with the drive gears when reinstalling, li and
slightly rotate the motor before reinserting.
Parts Included
Unpack the equipment. Ensure all parts are present and have not been damaged in transport.
You should have:
• 1 x No Hard Water Bypass (NHBP) Valve
• 1 x Strain Relief Kit
• 1 x Allen Key (only required for maintenance)

No Hard Water Bypass Diagram
The No Hard Water Bypass will be driven closed before the rst regeneration cycle that is not
FILL, SOFTENING or FILTERING, and will be driven open aer the last regeneration cycle that
is not FILL. If the control valve enters into an error state during the regeneration mode, the
bypass will remain in its current state until the error is corrected and reset.
Caution: The No Hard Water Bypass installation prevents water from entering the
downstream plumbing. If a downstream plumbing device or local code requires an
uninterrupted water supply, design the installation to accommodate.
Note: If the control valve enters into an error state during the regeneration mode, the no hard
water bypass vale will remain in its current state until the error is corrected and reset.

Installation
1. Plumb the No Hard Water Bypass Valve according to the diagram.
2. Before connecting any cables, it is necessary to remove the front cover and drive bracket
assembly.
3. Remove the cover from the control valve.
Pull out the release tabs located on each
side of the cover and pull cover o.
4. Diconnect power and meter cables from
the PC Board.

5. Remove drive bracket assembly by pressing up on the drive bracket's release tabs and pulling
out on the top tabs. The drive bracket should come forward for removal.
6. Once the drive bracket has been removed, locate the knockout on the backplate. Use a punch
or a Phillips head screw driver and place it in the center of the knockout circle and tap it with
a mild to medium force with a hammer to punch out the circle knockout piece.
7. Re-install the drive bracket assembly and
re-connect any disconnected wires back to
the proper location on each PC Board.

9. On the backside of the backplate, located on the lower le hand side, are the strain relief and
knockout hole. These allow you to bring through the NHBP cable.
10. Using pliers and break out the tabs at
the bottom of the strain relief on the
backside of the backplate.
10. Thread the NHBP cable through the
backplate and connect to the two pin
connector labelled MAV on the PC Board.

11. Aer connecting the cables you will need to weave the wires through the strain relief on the
backside of the backplate. Then take the strain relief cover and screw and fasten the cover
over the top of the strain relief.
12. Breakout second tab of ALT B strain relief on the backside of the backplate to allow the
water meter cable to be weaved through.

Note: If programming is done prior to completing the installation steps, the valve will
go into ERROR and clear the programming.
1. Pres NEXT and ▼ simultaneously for 5 seconds and release.
Then press NEXT and ▼ simultaneously again for 5 seconds
and release.
Note: Press REGEN at anytime in the programming sequence
to return to the previous step.

Advanced Programming
Set Regeneration Time Options using ▲ or ▼.
• NORMAL: Regeneration will occur at the preset time
• On 0: Regeneration will occur immediately when the volume
capacity reaches 0 (zero); or
• NORMAL + on 0: Regeneration will occur when:
- The preset time when the volume capacity falls below
the reserve or the specified number of days between
regenerations is reached, whichever comes first; or
- Immediately after 10 minutes of no water usage when the
volume capacity reaches 0 (zero).

Note: This step does NOT appear if step 6 is set to "oFF" in the
'Puretec 2CI Commercial Filter User Guide'.
