JumperSettings
Jumpersettingsarelocatedonthemainboard.Pin1ofall jumpersarelocatedontheside
withathickwhiteline(Pin1),referring tothemainboardsilkscreen.Jumpers
withtwopinswill beshowngraphicallyasforcloseand foropen.Jump-
erswiththree pinswill beshownastorepresentpin1&pin2connectedand
torepresentpin2 &pin3 connected.
Clock MultipleSelection (JX4,JX3,JX2,JX1)
Thesejumperssetthefrequency ratiobetweentheInternalfrequency ofthe CPU
andtheexternalfrequency (namelytheFrontSideBus).Thesystemcan deter-
minetheexternalfrequency (FSB)oftheCPUautomatically.TheFrontSideBus
multipliedbytheClockMultipleequalstheCPU’sfrequency.
Besuretounplug theACpowersupplybeforeadding orremoving expansioncards

Overclocking JumperSetting (JP1)
JumperslabeledJP1arelocated onthemainboardprovidinguserswithCPUoverclocking
feature.The hostbusspeed canbe setas100FSBorAUTOselect.Refertothe chartbelow
forthelocationofthesejumpers,andthe tableforinformation on howtosetthem.
ifjumperJP1issetasclose(defaultsettingAUTODETECT),thesystemdetectstheCPUfront
side bus(66/100MHz)automatically.If jumperJP1issetasopen(100FSB),the systemcan
run at100MHzfrontsidebusevenifaprocessorwith66MHzFSB isinstalled.However,
whetherornotyoursystemcanbeoverclockeddependsonyourprocessor’scapability.
Whetherthe processorisbusratiolocked orunlocked shouldalsobe takenintoaccount.For
busratiounlocked processor,thisoverclockingfeaturecanbeimplemented bysettingCPU
FSB as100MHz,meanwhilesetthebusratio(Multiplier) lowerbysetting thesejumpers
(Jx4~Jx1)manually.

The DMI(DesktopManagementInterface)systeminformation suchastheCPUtype/speed,
memorysize,and expansion cardswill bedetectedbytheonboardBIOSand storedinthe
flashROM.Wheneverthe systemhardwareconfigurationischanged,DMIinformationwill
beupdatedautomatically.However,settingjumperJAVasopen makesflashing BIOSand
updatingDMIinformationimpossible.Therefore,setJAVasclosedwhenchangingthe
systemhardwareconfiguration,orthe errormessage”UnkownFlashType”willbedis-
playedonthescreen,and DMIinformationupdatewill befail.

Themainboardprovidesthe advancedkeyboardpasswordpower-on function.When

Inordertoimplementthisfunction,set“KB PowerOnPassword”fromthe“Intergrated
Peripherals”sectionoftheBIOS.Thenyou canpowerup thesystemeitherbyusing the
keyboardorbythepowerswitch.
Note:Ifusingthisfunction,5VSBlineofthepowersupplyshouldbecapableof
deliveringenoughcurrenforall thedevices connectedtothekeyboard

cardsonthebus.Theseinterruptsareoftencalled“PIRQ#A”,“PIRQ#B”,“PIRQ#C”,“PIRQ#D”
toavoidconfusionwiththenormalnumberedsystemIRQs(IRQ0~15).Theseinterrupts,if
neededbycardsintheslots,aremappedtothe normalsystemIRQs.Thefollowing table
showshowthe onboarddevicessuchasonboardSCSIorLAN,andPCIslotsconnect
theseinternalinterrupts.
Accordingtotheabovetable,AGPandPCIslot2occupyPIRQ#AofthePCIinterrupt,
onboardLANandPCIslot1occupyPIRQ#B,onboardSCSIand PCIslot4occupyPIRQ#C,
USBand PCIslot3occupyPIRQ#D.Withthe adventofthe PCIbusand itsassociatedPCI

Normallythemaximumratingpowerforthepowersupplyinstalled shouldbe atleast300W.

The mainboardprovidestwopowerconnectors(ATX,AUX),asnotedbelow:
AssistantPowerconnector(AUX)isanoptionalconnector.Iftherearetoomany
peripheraldevices inyoursystem,apowersupplywiththisassisatnatpower
connectorisrecommendedtobeused.
PowerSwitch(POWER)
The powerswitch(POWER)shouldbeconnected toamomentaryswitch.Whenpowering
upyoursystem,firstturnonthemechanicalswitchofthe powersupply(ifoneispro-
vided),thenpushoncethebuttonofthepowerswitch.Whenpoweringoffthesystem,
you needn’tturnoffthe mechanicalswitch,justpushoncethebuttonofthepowerswitch.
If youchange“soft-off byPWR-BTTN”fromdefault“Instant-off”to“Delay4Secs”in
BIOSSetup (POWERMANAGEMENTSETUP),thepowerbuttonshouldbepressedfor
morethan4secondsbeforethesystempowersdown.
