2.Description, function and specifications
2.1Description and function
The ULR PA-Ex electricactuator iscontrolledby24 VDCvoltage fedtothe electricactuator’sterminals
accordingtothe wiring diagram, resp. by0/4/12 up to20 mA, 4up to12 mA(0/2up to10 V) (input control
signaland provides for moving the output part oftheEA automaticallytoapositioncorresponding tothe
value ofthe input signal) and other functions aswell.
The electricactuator consistsofthesemainparts(Fig. 1, 1A):
The electricactuator isdriven byan electricmotor (1) supplied(single-phasemotor) fromthe
source board (3) and control unit (2) ofthe DMS3electronics.
Positionofoutput elementofEAand thrust isscanned by contactless absolutesensor.
Dependingon the version, the DMS3electroniccircuit boardmayinclude anelectronicposition
transmitter (EPV) withoutpower supply(passive) withoutput signal4to20 mA.
Space heater(5) isplacedat the controlboard.
Incase ofpowercutordamage ofswitchestheactuatorcan becontrolled by manualhandle
accordingtoinstructions stated inchapter 5.1Service.
Basicmodules of DMS3electroniccontrol systemforULR PA-Ex:
Controlunit (2) –mainpart ofsystemDMS3–itcontains microprocessor, 6signalLED and4buttonsfor
simpleadjustmentand controlofEA,connectorsforconnectionofthrustscannerand sourcingboard
and communication connector(connectiontoPCforadjustmentanddiagnostic), 2free programmable
relaysR1and R2, 1relayREADYand terminalsfor electricconnection.
Sourcingboard(3) –secures power supplyofelectronicand provides an output voltage of24 VDC,
40 mAfor the user, it contains user terminalboard, switching circuits, connector for connection
withcontrolunit.
Position scanning unit (4) –secures contactless magneticposition scanningofoutput element.
Thrust reading unit (6) –provides contactless magneticthrust reading.
LEDdisplay(7) –showsinstant positionofEA output member and reportsanddisplayspotentialerrors,
which wouldoccur whenEA isoperated. Signallingmotion andfailureofthe EA isalso indicated by
LEDsdiode. LEDdisplayisused onlyprotype ofconstructionEAwithout localcontrol.
Manual control: made up byahandwheelwithawormgearing.
