energy,gas,air-conditioning and othertechnologicalsystems,whichtheyaresuitablefor,regardingtheir
features.Theyareconnected withcontrolled deviceswithaflangeaccording toISO5211 and acouplingor
using a stand and acoupling/a lever.
.
1. Itis forbiddento use EA as a lifting mechanism!
2. Switching of actuatorbya semiconductorswitches haveto be consultedwith producer.
1.2Safetyinstructions
Product characteristics fromrisk point of view
EA arereserved technicaldevices withhigherrateofdanger(groupA), withpossibilityof
installationinareas speciallydanger regarding casualties causedbyelectriccurrent.
ElectricactuatorsareaccordingtodirectiveLVD 2014/35/EU andstandardEN61010-1withinvalidedition
assignedforinstallation categoryII (overvoltage category), pollution degree2.
The productmeetsthe essentialsafetyrequirementsaccordingtoEN 60204-1and isincompliance with
EN 55011/A1withinvalidedition.
Product influence toenvironment
Electromagneticcompatibility(EMC): the productcomplieswiththe requirementsofthe Directive
2014/30/EUofthe European Parliament andoftheCouncil onthe approximation ofthe lawsthe Member
States relatingtothe electromagneticcompatibilityand withthe requirementsofstandards aswellEN/IEC
61000-3-3andEN/IEC61000-3-2withinvalidedition.
Vibrationscausedbytheproduct: product influence isnegligible.
Noiseproducedbytheproduct: Themaximumallowablenoise level(A) ofthe product measured ina
placeofoperation is78 dB(A).
Requirementsforspecializedskillsof personsperformingassembly, operation and maintenance
Electric connection can beperformed onlybyan acquaintedperson, i.e. an electricalengineerwith

1.5.1Lifetimeofactuators
The lifetime ofan electricactuator(EA)isat least 6 years.
EA used forclosing mode (closingvalves) complywiththe requirementsforat least 15,000 working cycles
(cycle C –O– C:forpart-turn EA)
EA used forregulating/modulating operation (controlvalves) complywith the belowstatednumbers of operating
hours at the totalnumberof1 million start-ups:
Switching frequency
max. 1,200 [h-1] 1,000 [h-1] 500 [h-1] 250 [h-1] 125 [h-1]
Minimallifetime expectancy– numberofoperating hours
850 1,000 2,000 4,000 8,000
Time of netoperation ismin. 200 hours, max. 2,000 hours.
Lifetime atoperating hours dependson loadingandswitching frequency.
Note :High switching frequencydoesnot ensure betterregulation. Setting ofregulation parameters should be
therefore made with the inevitablynecessaryswitchingfrequencyneededforthe process in question.
1.6Operation conditions
1.6.1Productlocation and operation position
EAmaybe installedandoperated inenclosedlocationsofindustrialfacilitieswithnotemperatureand
moistureregulation, protected fromdirectclimaticeffects(suchasdirectsunlight).Moreover,special“marine”
versionsmaybeused inwastewatertreatment applications,watermanagement, selected chemical
applications,tropicalenvironmentsand coastalareas.
Warning:
Whenthe EAisinstalledinopen air, it mustbe sheltered lightlytoprotectisagainstdirect
effectsofatmosphere.
When installedinthe areas withrelativehumiditymorethan80%,inopenairunderashelteris
needed toconnect the space heater directly–without athermalswitch.
Installationand operation of EA ispossiblein anyposition. Verticalpositionofoutput partaxisand
with the controlpartabove the valve isusual.

3.Installation and dismantling ofactuator
Abidebysafetymeasures!
Note:
Check againifplacement ofEA replyto chapter"Operationconditions".Incasethat operation conditions
are different from recommended, consultationwith producerisneeded.
Before starting of mounting the EA onto the valve:
•Checkagainwhetherthe EAwasnot damaged during storing.
•Checkwhetherthe adjusted operation stroke andconnecting dimensionsofthe actuator(see the nameplate)
are incompliancewith thevalve parameters.
•In case ofinconsonance, performadjusting according to the part"Adjustment“.
3.1Installation
EA isbythe produceradjusted to parameters according to the nameplate.
Before installationputthe hand wheelon.
3.1.1Mechanical flangeconnection
•Defat the abutting areasofthe connecting flange ofthe EAvalveorthe gearcarefully;
•Lubricate the output shaft of the valve/gearwith a grease not containing anyacids;
•Set the EAto the limit position “closed”, set thevalvetothe same position;
•Put the EAonto thevalvewith the output shaft reliablystalled in thevalvecoupling/gear;
Exchange of the mechanical connection flange fromF05 to F07(applies only to ESUP1):
Push the insert (fig. 1e)(1)and the stop tube (2)out ofthe wheel(5). Using a 6 mm Allen keyunscrewthe four
screws(3)and remove theflange (4).Slide the insert (1)backinto thewheel(5)untilitmeetsthe ring (6).
Attention!
Donot adjustEAon anarmature forciblybecauseof damage of the gear!
•Use the handwheelto turnthe EA to fit the openingsinthe EA and valve flangesifneeded;
•Checkwhetherthe connecting flangeabutswith thevalve/gear;
•Fixthe flangewithfourscrews(with mechanicalstrength min8G) fixed the waythe actuatorcan Bemoved.
Tighten the screwsequallyin cross;
•At the end checkthe correctness ofthe fixturewith the valvewith rotating the hand wheel.
