The Profile Lite Custom Nasal Mask and Headstrap are
intended to provide an interface for adult patients when
used with Respironics CPAP or bi-level therapy. The mask
is designed to conform to the shape of your face and
contains an exhalation port that provides a continuous leak
path in the patient circuit. This mask does not require the
use of a separate exhalation device. LATEX-FREE
Removing the Headstrap & Mask:
Because the entire headstrap stretches, you should not need to unfasten the straps to remove the headstrap. Simply slide the mask and
headstrap over your head. If necessary, unfasten either of the neck straps.

Warning: The Profile Lite mask is designed for use with CPAP and bi-level systems
recommended by your physician or respiratory therapist. Do not wear this mask unless the CPAP or bi-level
system is turned on and operating properly.
Warning: This warning applies to most CPAP devices. At low CPAP pressures, the air flow through the exhalation port
may not be enough to clear all of the exhaled gas (CO2) from the mask. You may breathe in some of the air that
you have exhaled. Do not block or otherwise try to seal the vent holes on the exhalation port.
Warning: Some users may experience skin redness. If this occurs, consult your doctor.
Warning: The Profile Lite mask can be reformed using boiling water. Take care when handling the heated water and the
heated mask. Read all instructions before starting the procedure.
Caution: Do not heat the mask by placing it into a microwave or conventional oven. The mask will be damaged.

Hold the mask lightly
against your face, and
slide the headstrap over
your head.
Connect the flexible tubing to the
exhalation elbow. Turn the CPAP
or bi-level system on.
Lie down and breathe normally through your
nose, keeping your lips closed. Unhook the
straps and gradually tighten them until the
mask has minimal leaks and fits comfortably.
NOTE: The headstrap has two sets of tabs
for better adjustment. For larger size heads,
use the black tabs. For smaller head sizes, use
the blue tabs. The extra tabs can be removed
using a pair of scissors. DO NOT overtighten
the straps. Overtightening can cause or
worsen leaks.
Assembly: Before use, clean the mask and gel forehead spacer following the instructions below.

Cleaning Instructions:
For Multi-Patient Use Reusable. Contact Respironics Customer Service department at 1-800-345-6443 (US and Canada) or 1-724-
387-4000 to obtain the mask Disinfecting instructions (order #1011138).
The following instructions are intended for Home Use.
Clean all parts of the mask and forehead spacer daily. Clean the headstrap at least once each week or more often if needed. Before
cleaning, disconnect the mask and headstrap. Fasten the hook tabs on the straps so that they don’t catch other garments in the laundry.
Headstrap
Step 1 Hand or machine wash with a standard laundry
detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly. Do
not use bleach.
Step 2 Line dry or machine dry at the medium heat
setting.
NOTE: Slight readjustment of the straps may be needed
after repeated washings.
Mask and Gel Forehead Spacer
Step 1 Hand wash the mask and spacer in warm water with a mild
dishwashing detergent. Do not use bleach, alcohol, cleaning
solutions containing alcohol, or any strong household cleaners.
Do not use cleaners containing conditioners or moisturizers.
Step 2 Rinse thoroughly. Air dry. Make sure the mask is dry before
use. Inspect the mask after cleaning. Replace the mask if any
parts are damaged or deteriorated. Replace the spacer if
any of the gel material has become exposed. Wash your face
with a mild soap and water if it has come in contact with any
exposed gel. English

Reforming the Mask:
OPTIONAL - If you are not able to minimize the leaks, you may want to reform the mask to fit your face more closely.
Remove the headstrap and spacer from the mask.
Fill a container with enough water to cover the entire
mask. (DO NOT put the mask in the water at this
time.) Place the container over heat and bring the
water to a boil.
Remove the container from the heat.
Using tongs or a similar utensil, slowly place the mask into the water being
careful to keep the water from spilling over. Soak the mask for four minutes.
Using the tongs again, grab the mask at the extension and remove it from the
water. Place the mask in cold water for ten seconds.
Reconnect the spacer and headstrap.
Warning: Before placing the mask on your face, be sure the mask has cooled
enough to prevent irritation or burning.
Place the mask on your face in the position you will be wearing it, pressing
comfortably against your face. Slide the headgear over your head.
NOTE: Be sure to tighten the headgear to the tension you would normally
use.
Wear the mask and headgear for five minutes to allow the mask to form to
your face.
Remove the mask and headstrap. The mask will maintain its shape.
NOTE: The mask can be reformed, if necessary, by repeating steps 1
through 3.
Helpful Tips for Mask Comfort:
• Clean your face and mask thoroughly before each use.
• Make sure the mask is the correct size for your face.
• Do not overtighten the headstrap. Overtightening can irritate your
face, increase leaks, or cause damage to the mask.
• Replace the mask if the cushion becomes hardened or deformed.

Profile Lite Spezial-Nasenmaske und Kopfband sind als
Patientenanschluss für erwachsene Patienten zum Gebrauch
während derRespironics CPAP- bzw. Bi-level-Therapie
angezeigt. Die Maske ist so konzipiert, dass sie sich der
Gesichtsform des Patienten anpasst, und verfügt über ein
Ausatemventil, das eine kontinuierliche Leckbahn im
Patientenschlauchsystem zurVerfügung stellt. Für diese Maske
ist keine separateAusatemvorrichtung notwendig. LATEXFREI
Abnehmen des Kopfbandes und der Maske:
Da sich das gesamte Kopfband dehnt, ist es normalerweise nicht notwendig, die Bänder auszuhaken, um das Kopfband abzunehmen.
Einfach die Maske und das Kopfband über den Kopf streifen. Bei Bedarf eines der beiden Halsbänder lösen.

Hinlegen und normal durch die Nase atmen; dabei den
Mund geschlossen halten. Die Bänder aushaken und
stufenweise fester ziehen, bis die Maske minimale Lecks
aufweist und bequem sitzt. HINWEIS: Das Kopfband
lässt sich mittels zweier Laschen-Sets für besseren Sitz
anpassen. Bei größerem Kopfumfang die schwarzen
Laschen verwenden. Bei kleinerem Kopfumfang die
blauen Laschen verwenden. Die nicht gebrauchten
Laschen können mit einer Schere abgeschnitten werden.
Die Bänder NICHT ZU FEST anziehen. Zu festes
Anziehen kann Lecks verursachen bzw. diese vergrößern.
Zusammenbau: Die Maske und den Gel-Abstandshalter für die Stirn vor dem Gebrauch gemäß der folgenden Anleitung reinigen.

Reinigungsanleitung:
Um Anweisungen zum wiederholten Gebrauch bei mehreren Patienten zu erhalten, rufen Sie bitte Respironics an, um
Sterilisations-und Desinfektionshinweise zu erhalten (Bestell-Nr. 1011138).
Für den Heimgebrauch: Alle Masken- und Abstandshalterteile täglich reinigen. Das Kopfband mindestens einmal pro Woche bzw.
bei Bedarf öfter reinigen. Die Maske und das Kopfband vor dem Reinigen vom Schlauchsystem trennen. Die Laschen an den
Bändern einhaken, damit sie sich in der Waschmaschine nicht in anderen Kleidungsstücken verfangen.
Kopfband
Schritt 1 Mit einem normalen Waschmittel und warmem
Wasser von Hand oder in der Maschine waschen.
Gründlich ausspülen. Kein Bleichmittel verwenden.
Schritt 2 Zum Trocknen aufhängen oder bei mittlerer
Hitze im Trockner trocknen.
HINWEIS: Nach wiederholtem Waschen ist u.U. eine
leichte Neuanpassung der Bänder notwendig.
Maske und Gel-Abstandshalter für die Stirn
Schritt 1 Die Maske und den Abstandshalter in warmem Wasser mit einem
milden Reinigungsmittel waschen. Weder Bleichmittel, Alkohol,
Alkohol enthaltende Reinigungslösungen noch aggressive
Haushaltsreiniger verwenden. Keine Reiniger verwenden, die
Umhüllungs- oder Feuchthaltemittel enthalten.
Schritt 2 Gründlich ausspülen. An der Luft trocknen lassen. Sicherstellen, dass
die Maske vor dem Gebrauch trocken ist. Die Maske nach dem
Reinigen untersuchen. Bei beschädigten oder abgenutzten Teilen die
Maske austauschen. Bei freigelegtem Gel den Abstandshalter
austauschen. Bei Hautkontakt mit dem freigelegten Gel das
Gesicht mit Wasser und einer milden Seife waschen.
Vorsicht: Gemäß US-Bundesrecht darf dieses Gerät nur durch einen Arzt bzw. auf Anordnung eines Arztes verkauft werden.
Warnhinweis: Die Profile Lite Maske ist zum Gebrauch zusammen mit den von Ihrem Arzt oder Atemtherapeuten
empfohlenen CPAP- und Bi-level-Systemen konzipiert. Diese Maske nur dann tragen, wenn das CPAP- bzw.
Bi-level-System eingeschaltet ist und ordnungsgemäß funktioniert.
Warnhinweis: Dieser Warnhinweis trifft auf die meisten CPAP-Geräte zu. Bei niedrigem CPAP-Druck reicht der Luftstrom
durch das Ausatemventil u.U. nicht aus, um das gesamte ausgeatmete Kohlendioxid (CO2) aus der Maske zu
entfernen. Der Patient atmet u.U. einen Teil der zuvor ausgeatmeten Luft wieder ein. Die Lüftungsöffnungen
am Ausatemventil nicht blockieren oder anderweitig abdichten.
Warnhinweis: Bei manchen Patienten kann es zu Hautrötungen kommen. Bitte wenden Sie sich in diesem Fall an Ihren Arzt.
Warnhinweis: Die Profile Lite Maske kann mittels kochendem Wasser neu geformt werden. Bei der Handhabung des heißen Wassers
und der erhitzten Maske vorsichtig vorgehen. Vor Durchführung des Verfahrens alleAnweisungen durchlesen.
Vorsicht: Die Maske nicht in einem Mikrowellen- oder herkömmlichen Herd erhitzen. Dies führt zu Beschädigungen der Maske.

Neuformen der Maske:
OPTIONAL – Ist eine Minimierung der Lecks nicht möglich, kann die Maske wahlweise neu geformt und so dem Gesicht besser angepasst werden.
Das Kopfband und den Abstandshalter von der Maske
abnehmen.
Einen Behälter mit ausreichend Wasser füllen, um die
gesamte Maske zu bedecken. (Die Maske jetzt noch
NICHT ins Wasser legen.) Den Behälter auf den Herd
stellen und das Wasser zum Kochen bringen.
Den Behälter von der Platte nehmen.
Mit einer Zange o.ä. die Maske langsam ins Wasser eintauchen und dabei
sorgfältig darauf achten, dass das Wasser nicht überläuft. Die Maske vier Minuten
lang einweichen lassen.
Die Maske mit der Zange an der Verlängerung fassen und aus dem Wasser
nehmen. Die Maske zehn Sekunden lang in kaltes Wasser legen.
Den Abstandshalter und das Kopfband wieder anbringen.
Warnhinweis: Vor dem Aufsetzen der Maske sicherstellen, dass diese ausreichend
abgekühlt ist, um Hautreizungen oder Verbrennungen zu vermeiden.
Die Maske in der Position auf das Gesicht legen, in der sie getragen werden
soll, und so an das Gesicht drücken, dass sie als angenehm empfunden wird.
Das Kopfband über den Kopf ziehen. HINWEIS: Das Kopfband unbedingt so
straff anziehen, wie dies normalerweise beim Tragen der Fall ist.
Maske und Kopfhalterung fünf Minuten lang tragen, damit sie sich an die
Gesichtsform des Patienten anpasst.
Maske und Kopfband abnehmen. Die Maske behält ihre Form bei.
HINWEIS: Die Maske kann bei Bedarf nachgeformt werden; siehe hierzu
Schritte 1 bis 3.
Hilfreiche Tipps für den Maskenkomfort:
• Maske und Gesicht vor jedem Gebrauch gründlich reinigen.
• Sicherstellen, dass die für das Gesicht richtige Maskengröße gewählt wurde.
• Das Kopfband nicht zu fest anziehen. Zu festes Anziehen kann zu
Hautreizungen im Gesicht, vergrößerten Lecks und Schäden an der
Maske führen.
• Die Maske ersetzen, wenn sich das Polster verhärtet oder verformt hat.
