Step 1: Removing Shipping Braces And Cleaning Housings:
IMPORTANT
Never remove shipping braces before housing
has been set and the concrete has cured.
Note: Refer to local codes for concrete cure times.
A.) Remove shipping braces from front and rear housings, Fig. 1a.
B.) Clean front, middle and rear housings from all debris that
would prohibit proper installation of components,
Figs. 1 & 1b.
C.) Bolts were put in holes where the wheel stops will be
installed in later steps will have to be removed to allow the post to
be moved into the pocket.

Step 2: Installing Bracket Supports And Axle/Chain Adjustment
Brackets
IMPORTANT All components should be installed with posts
laying down. This prevents the piston in the post from pushing
out too much hydraulic fluid while installing the male adapter and
hydraulic hose. This is important to the bleeding procedure done
later in the installation. It also helps prevent damage to the air
line elbow attached to the bottom of the lock assembly.
Note: Posts are the same for all housings. Determine which
post you are going to install in the moveable housings and install
bracket supports and axle/chain adjustment brackets.
IMPORTANT
Check for damage of coating on posts. Contact
Rotary Lift if you have any concerns.
A.) Install bracket supports and axle/chain adjustment brackets
with (8) 1/2" whizlock hex nuts torque to 35 ft-lbs., Fig. 2 .
Step 3: Installing Post Position Sensors Onto Post Position
Sensor Adapters:
A.) Remove covers from post position sensors, Fig. 3.
B.) Attach post position sensors onto post position sensor
adapters with 1/4"-20NC x 1/4" Lg. Hex SCHS, Fig. 3.

Step 4: Installing Locking Latch Assemblies And Position
Sensors To Latch Plates On Posts:
Note: All components can be mounted to the posts before
lowering them into the front and rear housings.
A.) Install latch assemblies and post position sensors onto latch
plates of posts with 3/4"-10NC hex nuts, bolts and lock washers,
Fig. 4.
Step 5: Installing Lock Assembly Into Locking Latch Assembly:
A.) IMPORTANT The stop blocks must be removed before lock
assemblies can be lowered into position, Fig. 5.
B.) Install air line guard to lock assembly, Fig. 5.
C.) Pull locks back on locking leg assemblies and lower lock
assemblies into locking leg assemblies, Fig 5a.
D.) Reinstall the stop blocks after the lock assemblies have been
lowered into position.

Step 7: Attaching Hydraulic Hoses To Posts:
IMPORTANT
Review Figs. 7, 7a, and 7b thoroughly before
installing hydraulic hoses.
A.) Remove plugs in posts (A.), Fig. 7a.
B.) Insert male adapters into posts (B.),Fig. 7a.
C.) Install post hoses to male adapters on posts (C.), Fig. 7a.
D.) Attach other ends of post hoses to posts (D.),
Fig 7a.
E.) Install Remaining Hydraulic hoses to posts (E.),
Fig. 7a.
Note: Install longest hose to post with bracket supports and axle/
chain adjustment brackets.
Flared FittingsTightening Procedure
1. Screw the fittings together finger tight. Then, tighten
to 85 ft lbs or (1-1/4 hex flats).
Flare seat MUST NOT rotate when
tightening. Only the nut should turn.
2. Back the fitting off one full turn then re-torque
85 ft lbs or (1 hex flat).
3. This will complete the tightening procedure and
develop a pressure tight seal.
Over tightening will damage fittings
resulting in fluid leakage.

Step 11: Mounting The Position Sensors To Position Sensor
Adapter Brackets:
A.) Mount the position sensor to the position sensor adapter
bracket, Fig. 10, with 1/4"-20NC x 1" HHCS and nylon insert lock
nuts.
NOTE: Notice the orientation of the position sensor to the
bracket, Fig. 10. Plug-In on position sensor will face downward.
Step 12: Placing The Position Sensors And Brackets Onto The
Power Unit Brackets In Moveable Post
Housings:
A.) Attach data cable to horizontal string pot then lower the
position sensors and brackets into moveable post housings and
onto the power unit bracket, Fig. 11.
NOTE: The string on the potentiometer faces the post.

motors before lowering them into the front and rear housings.
Step 13: Lowering The Power Units Into Moveable Post Housings.
A.) Lower power units and tanks into moveable post housings and
onto the power unit brackets just behind the position sensor, Fig.
12.
Several types of motors are used
on the hydraulic tank assemblies. Adjustments may be
needed to the check valve if it rubs against the power unit.
The check valve should only be rotated just
enough to keep it from rubbing against the
power unit. If it’
s rotated too much it may
interfere with the drive chain from the drive in
the moveable housing. Interference issues
should be checked during the installation of
the drive chain.

lines, connecting position sensors, and wiring power unit motors
