Read and follow all instructions contained in

this manual before using the product. Read the

maintenance instructions before opening the unit.

Failure to comply with these instructions may result

in personal injuries or damage to the unit or system.

1. Installation and servicing of air conditioning and

related equipment can be hazardous due to systems

pressure and electrical components. Only trained

and qualied service personnel should install,

repair or service equipment.

2. Untrained personnel can perform basic

maintenance functions such as replacing lamp(s)

and/or lter(s). All other operations should be

performed by trained service personnel.

3. The unit is not to be used by persons (including

children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental

capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,

unless they have been given supervision or instruction.

CAUTION: Unit is not a toy. Do not leave children

unattended with the unit.

4. Units that are obviously damaged must not be

operated.

5. When working on the unit or system, observe

precautions in the literature, tags and labels attached

to the unit or system, and all other safety precautions

considered as best practices in the HVAC industry.

6. When applicable, local regulation may comprise

more restrictive installation and/or certication

requirements. The afore mentioned requirements

prevail on those of this document and the installer

agrees to conform to these at his own expense.

7. Follow all the safety instructions outlined in this

document and respect all local and national codes

applicable.

8. This unit contains a UV-C emitter. Unintended use of

the unit or damage to the housing may result in harmful

UV-C radiation leaks. UV-C radiation may, even in little

doses, cause harm to the eyes and skin.

9. Never expose eyes or skin to ultraviolet light

from any source. Therefore, before installing or

performing maintenance on the unit or system,

TURN OFF AND DISCONNECT the unit or system

from all power sources (there may be more than

one switch to disconnect).

CAUTION: Electrical shock may cause personal

injuries or possibly death.

10. UV rays may destroy certain types of lters (polymer

or plastic); please keep the unit or system light away

from shining directly on plastic.

11. When installing or performing maintenance on the

UV unit or system, it is recommended to wear safety

glasses and gloves. In order to avoid reduced

performance of lamp(s), do not touch lamp glass

without gloves.

12. UV lamps contain a small quantity of mercury: if a

lamp breaks, clean and dispose of with care. UV

lamps can be disposed/recycled after use, as any

other uorescent lamps. Contact and follow your local

and national authorities’ specic instructions.

13. Use only specied SANUVOX branded

replacement UV lamps with your unit or system.

Use of any other lamps will void your warranty and

can result in damage to the unit, system and/or

lamp(s).

14. Most UV units or systems are not waterproof. DO NOT

INSTALL OUTDOORS unless specied otherwise.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Congratulations on the purchase of your new Sanuvox UV air purier. Sanuvox UV air puriers are the most advanced air

purication systems available, having been proven to destroy up to 99.99% of biological and chemical contaminants that circulate

throughout the air of your home or facility. Sanuvox systems have been tested by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency),

the National Homeland Security research center, medical universities and independent third party laboratories.

COMPONENTS

How it Works

The Sanuvox SANUVAIR® S100 unit is designed to destroy biological and chemical contaminants. The air purier can be

installed in a suspended celling or on a wall. An internal fan circulates air through the air purier. The SANUVAIR® S100 is

designed to treat up to 500 square feet of space (per unit).

SETUP & INSTALLATION

What you will need

A utility knife to unpack all components, a stepladder to reach the celling or wall properly, a Phillips No.2 screwdriver, a measuring

tape, a level, a marker, and a cutter or saw (if ceiling-mounted).

CAUTION: Handle your product with care to avoid breaking parts. Make sure you have a free and safe space to unpack,

install and setup your product. Conrm you have access to the necessary power source for the product requirements (see unit

What’s included

The SANUVAIR® S100, a UV lamp and a basic

installation kit.

The installation kit includes: a pair of cotton

gloves, 8-32 screws (3), a transformer, a power

cord (US or EUR), an elbow adapter, an angled

support bracket and a near-horizontal support

bracket.

Versatile Installations

The SANUVAIR® S100 unit can be installed two ways: ceiling-mounted in a 24" x 14" area of a suspended ceiling at least 8"

deep OR simply wall-mounted.

Either way, make sure there is adequate clearance (at least 2 feet) for the door to swing down for maintenance or service.

CAUTION: The adapter cannot be installed in a dry wall ceiling. This unit cannot be approved as a medical system.

Use only with adapter PSAC60M-120. Use only with lamp LMPRGXJ65.

Step by Step Setup & Installation - Ceiling-Mounted

1. Check installation location of the unit, so that there is at least 24"

from the wall in order to have good air circulation.

Also make sure you have access to a 110V (or 230V) input to power

the unit.

2. Prepare unit for installation: Take the unit out of its box and install

the support anchors required to support the unit by screwing them

directly to the unit.

A. Sliding door side : near-horizontal support bracket.

B. Beveled side (mesh) : angled support bracket.

Then lay the unit on a at surface with the access doors facing up.

NOTE: Keep box in case of return under warranty.

5. Install lamp: Open the unit by sliding its cover to gain access to the lamp

location. Connect the lamp to the connector (only one way possible)

and gently attach it to the lamp holder.

NOTE: Lamp must be installed over the stopper.

3. Prepare for UV lamp installation: remove lamp from packaging.

Only after you have visually inspected the UV lamp should you break

the security seal on the underside of the cardboard sleeve.

4. Carefully slide the UV lamp out from the cardboard sleeve. Be sure to

wear the cotton gloves (included) guaranteeing a clean lamp free from

ngerprints.

NOTE: Fingerprints on the lamp will negatively impact the UV output of

the lamp.

8. Now, prepare location for installation: Cut a 24" x 14" opening in a

suspended ceiling tile to install the unit. In order to facilitate the work,

remove 14" lengthwise.

9. Connect the power supply to the adapter, and the adapter to the unit.

NOTE: Once connected, the unit will turn on automatically. Continue

with the installation while the unit is running.

10. Make sure to position the unit so that the air outlet (open end) is at least

24" from the wall.

Pass the unit through the ceiling (tilt it slightly to the side) and gently

lean the device support anchors against the tile and the ceiling support.

11. Replace the cut part of the suspended ceiling tile to hide the opening.

Then, right up against the unit, install a 24" ‘T’ bracket.

Your new SANUVAIR®S100 is now ready to

operate so you can enjoy great air quality

for you and your colleagues.

6. Install Filter: While the unit cover is still open, pull on the non-mesh

end to gain access to the lter location (mesh door). Take the lter out

of its packaging and install it in the unit. Close the mesh door properly.

7. Adjust the fan speed: While the unit cover is still open, you will have

access to the speed controller. For best results, choose “Hi” and for

quieter use, choose “Low”.

Once the lamp and lter are installed and the fan settings are adjusted

to your liking, make sure to close the unit cover properly.

Step by Step Setup & Installation - Wall-Mounted

1. Check installation location of the unit, so that there is at least 24"

from the ceiling in order to have good air circulation.

Also make sure you have access to a 110V (or 230V) input to power

the unit.

unit on a at surface with the access doors facing up.

NOTE: Keep box in case of return under warranty.

support screw at proper height.

Then, hang the unit on the wall on the support screw.

9. Connect the power supply to the adapter, and the adapter to the unit.

For a wall installation, you will need to use the 90° adapter.

NOTE: Once connected, the unit will turn on automatically.

OPERATION

How to Operate your Product

If wired directly to a dedicated power source, the SANUVAIR® S100 will operate continuously. If wired in parallel with other

devices, such as overhead lighting, the SANUVAIR® S100 will operate only when the circuit is energized. The internal fan

circulates air through the device. Room air is drawn in through the polypropylene lter and passes by the ultraviolet lamp. Then,

the puried air is being exhausted. A safety switch is provided to stop operation if the cover is opened.

Do not hold down security switch when cover is open. The ultraviolet lamp will energize, which may cause injury to eyes and

exposed skin. Never expose eyes or skin to direct UV light.

CAUTION: The suggested operating temperature range is 50°F to 115°F (10°C to 46°C). Operating the SANUVAIR® S100

outside this range will result in decreased performance.

MAINTENANCE

How to Replace Lamp(s)

Replacing lamps on the SANUVAIR® S100 needs to be done periodically to maintain design specications. The UV lamp can

function for many years, but over time, the UV wavelength does decrease. For best results, the UV lamp should be replaced

every two years guaranteeing the highest performance.

CAUTION: In order to avoid reduced performance of lamp(s), do not touch lamp glass without gloves.

Step by Step Lamp Replacement

Example for a ceiling-mounted unit. The same step by step process applies for a wall-mounted unit.

NOTE: The lamp can be replaced while the unit is installed on the ceiling or wall. Another option is to remove the unit from the

ceiling or wall, and then replace the lamp with the unit lying on a at surface with the access doors facing up. Besides, this option

is preferable for a wall unit.

location.

NOTE: Unit must be disconnected from the supply before replacing lamp.

3. Prepare the new lamp. Remove the contents from packaging. Only

after you have visually inspected the UV lamp should you break the

security seal on the underside of the cardboard sleeve.

4. Carefully slide the new UV lamp out from the cardboard sleeve. Be sure

to wear the cotton gloves (included) guaranteeing a clean lamp free

from ngerprints.

NOTE: Fingerprints on the lamp will negatively impact the UV output of

the lamp.

remove the lamp from the unit.

How to Clean your Product

There is very little maintenance to be done on the SANUVAIR® S100.

Periodic cleaning of the inlet lter may be performed. Filter media should be cleaned at least once every 6 months for optimal

performance to be kept free of dust and residue deposit. Clean when necessary with mild soap or rubbing alcohol. The lamp

may be cleaned once a year with a microber cloth and isopropyl alcohol. Follow the same instructions and precautions as for

lamp replacement. To clean the unit exterior, use a damp cloth with general purpose detergent. Always spot test the cleaner to

make sure it does not damage the surface.

CAUTION: Under no circumstance should water be sprayed or splashed onto the product.

Step by Step Filter Cleaning

Example for a wall-mounted unit. The same step by step process applies for a ceiling-mounted unit.

NOTE: The lter can be removed for cleaning while the unit is installed on the ceiling or wall. Another option is to remove the unit

from the ceiling or wall, and then access the lter with the unit lying on a at surface with the access doors facing up. Besides,

this option is preferable for a wall unit.

1. Open the unit by sliding down its cover and pull on the non-mesh end of

the lter door to gain access to the lter location.

NOTE: Unit must be disconnected from the supply before servicing lter.

CAUTION: When unit is wall-mounted, its cover may slide down

if not properly locked on open. When you slide the unit cover up,

make sure to push it up and toward the wall until it clips in place and

stays up on its own.

2. Remove the lter and and clean it.

NOTE: The lter can be washed with mild soap or rubbing alcohol.

4. Close the lter door and the unit cover properly.

NOTE: To unlock and slide down the unit cover when the unit is

wall-mounted, pull the unit cover toward you and down. Make sure to

close the unit cover for the unit to restart.

3. When lter is dry, reinstall it in the unit.

ULTRAVIOLETS: UVV & UVC

The UVC (254 nm) and UVV (185 nm) light produced by Sanuvox UV units and systems are the same two UV wavelengths

produced by the Sun. The UVC wavelength attacks the micro-organisms on a molecular level deactivating and destroying the

contaminants, while the UVV wavelength degrades the chemicals and odors. Unlike conventional UV lamps on the market,

Sanuvox UV units and systems use a patented process designed to deliver the maximum UV dosage to the moving air-stream

or surface.

CAUTION: Never expose eyes or skin to ultraviolet light from any source.

STORAGE

The SANUVAIR® S100 is a ceiling or wall-mounted unit working continuously and automatically and therefore, requires no

specic storage.

ELECTRICAL RATINGS, POWER CONSUMPTION & AVAILABLE VOLTAGE

The SANUVAIR® S100 has a power consumption of 25 Watts and requires a 12V 60Hz power source.

See product label to conrm power consumption of your specic unit or system.

PRODUCT OR TAMPER WITH ITS COMPONENTS WITHOUT CONTACTING CUSTOMER SERVICE FIRST. DOING SO

MAY VOID YOUR WARRANTY AND CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY OR DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If your product is not working properly, refer to the following.

Step by Step UV Lamp Continuity Test

Example for a ceiling-mounted unit. The same step by step process applies for a wall-mounted unit.

NOTE: Its possible to access the lamp while the unit is installed on the ceiling or wall. Another option is to remove the unit from

the ceiling or wall, and then access the lamp with the unit lying on a at surface with the access doors facing up. Besides, this

option is preferable for a wall unit.

1. Open the unit by sliding down its cover to gain access to the lamp

location.

3. Using an ohmmeter place 1 probe on 1 of the 4 pins and by sensing

the 3 remaining pins, one should have continuity. Make sure the 2

remaining pins also have continuity. When both sets of pins test good

for continuity, it can be assumed that the lamp is good.

2. Open the clamp. Disconnect the old UV lamp from the connector and

remove the lamp from the unit.

NOTE: Fingerprints on the lamp will negatively impact the UV output of

the lamp. Always use cotton gloves to manipulate UV lamps.

damage resulting from abusive, unreasonable use or supplemental damage. Defects that are the result of normal wear and tear will not be considered

SANUVOX IS NOT LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY

OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ON THIS PRODUCT IS LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS WARRANTY.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidential or consequential damages or limitation on how long an implied warranty last, so

the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives specic legal rights, and you also may have other rights which vary from

jurisdiction to jurisdiction. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of this product from the original date of purchase.

B. At its option, SANUVOX will repair or replace this product if it is found to be defective in material or workmanship.
