Purpose of the Manual
This manual provides comprehensive information on Reydisp Evolution, getting started with Reydisp Evolution
and essential steps during engineering with Reydisp Evolution.
Target Audience
This manual is mainly intended for protection system engineers, commissioning engineers, persons entrusted
with the setting, testing and maintenance of automation, selective protection and control equipment, and
operational crew in electrical installations and power plants.
Scope
This manual applies to the Reyrolle 7SR45 device family.

Reydisp Evolution
What is Reydisp Evolution?
Reydisp Evolution is a Windows based suite of software tools, providing the means for the user to fully
configure the 7SR45 Argus relay.
The setting configuration tool allows you to apply settings, interrogate settings, and retrieve events and fault
records from the 7SR45 Argus relay.
Reydisp Evolution can be used without being connected to a device. To demonstrate the use of Reydisp Evolu-
tion, some example (template) files of data and settings are supplied with the product.

Offline Mode and Online Mode
In the Offline mode, all of the data to be edited for the 7SR45 Argus relay is available in files and there is no
physical connection to the 7SR45 Argus relay.
The following list provides an overview of the tasks you can work with in the Offline mode:
•Defining the functional scope of a 7SR45 device
•Setting function parameters
In the Offline configuration, for example, the following data can be edited:
•Parameter values
•Communication settings
The following list provides an overview of the tasks you can work with in the Online mode:
•Transferring parameter values from Reydisp Evolution to the 7SR45 device.
•Transferring parameter values from the 7SR45 device to Reydisp Evolution and saving them in files.
•Transferring indications, measured values, and fault records from the 7SR45 device to Reydisp Evolution
and saving them in files.
•Set/reset output relays, LED reset.
•Setting 7SR45 Argus relay date and time.

Functional Sections of the User Interface
For more information about Reydisp Evolution configuration software, visit the Siemens Internet site https://
www.siemens.com/reyrolle.
Download the Reydisp Evolution Set up and install Reydisp Evolution to access the Help menu.
Settings Templates
Settings templates are used to view the available templates. For each type, click the appropriate tab at the top
of the Templates dialog box. The view can be sorted alphabetically on the contents of each column by
clicking on that columns header label.
Settings templates allow setting for the devices to be created offline. Templates are available for the different
software variants and I/O configurations of each device. The templates box contains a Find search box.
To search the template:
²Enter the complete relay ID or part of the relay ID item in the search field.

²Click the Start (→) button.

²To continue the search, click the Next (↓) button.

Preconfiguration Requirements
Ensure that your personal computer (PC) or laptop computer is equipped with the following software specifi-
cations and operating systems:
To set the relay using a communication port, you need the following:
•PC or laptop computer with Reydisp Evolution Version 9.51.02 or higher installed. You can download
Reydisp Evolution from the Siemens Internet site https://www.siemens.com/reyrolle under the submenu
Software.
•This software requires the following:
– Windows 2000 service pack 4 or higher
– Windows XP with service pack 2 or higher
– Microsoft .NET framework for tools
The 7SR45 Argus relay can be connected to Reydisp Evolution via communication ports available on the relay.
Depending on the communication port used, select a suitable communication interface cable and converters.
Front USB Connection
The following figure shows how to connect your PC or laptop computer locally via the front USB port.

Setting the Relay via Reydisp Evolution
When the Reydisp software is running, all the available communication ports are automatically detected.
²On the homepage of Reydisp Evolution, open the submenu File and select Connect.
The Connection Manager window displays all the available communication ports.
²Select the preferred port and click Properties....
²In the Configure Communications window, ensure the baud rate and parity match with the selected
values in the 7SR45 Argus relay settings and click OK
²In the Connection Manager window Figure 2-3, click Connect to initiate the relay-PC connection.

²You can now configure the relay settings using the Reydisp Evolution software.

In Reydisp Evolution, verify that the Do NOT Check Communication Connection option is selected in the
Advanced properties.

In Reydisp Evolution, ensure that the relay address is set as 1 in the relay menu. This is applicable for
7SR450[1/3]-xGx10-1AA0.

In Reydisp Evolution, check that the relay address in the Relay menu is the same as that of the 7SR45 Argus
relay address. This is applicable for 7SR450[1/3]-x[H/J]A20-1AA0 and 7SR450[2/4]-x[H/J]B20-1AA0.

Configuring the Relay Serial Data Communication
You can configure the 7SR45 Argus relay by using the keys on the relay fascia. Scroll down from the SETTING
MODE and navigate to the COMMUNICATION menu and change the settings for the communication port if
needed.
Reydisp Evolution uses the IEC 60870-5-103 protocol to communicate.
When connecting the relay to a PC using the front USB port, the Reydisp Evolution automatically detects the
relay. If the USB-Protocol selected is IEC60870-5-103, then setting changes are not required.
