1. Application
The SKF Grease Meter LAGM 1000E accurately measures the amount of grease applied to
a bearing or other lubrication point. The grease meter can be connected to grease pumps
that are air driven, electrically driven or hand operated.
2. Description
The grease meter measures the grease quantity that passes through the meter. The grease
quantity dispensed can be displayed as cm3, gram, oz or fl oz (US). The grease meter is
easily calibrated, and the display is equipped with a backlight for use in dark environments.

4. Installing or replacing battery
Carefully remove the rubber protective sleeve.
Check polarity when inserting battery. Dispose of
the batteries in accordance with local regulations.

5. Assembly instructions
Replace the lubrication pipe or high-pressure hose on your grease pump or grease gun
with the grease meter assembly. If wanted the extension pipe with nozzle can be replaced
by the extension hose (1077601).
6. How to use
Mobile installation with a grease gun or pump
There are two ways to start the Grease Meter. Either use it (pump grease through it) or
press the button to conitnue with the previous measurement:
The display lights up:
To reset the Grease Meter after each dispensing press the button.
(The RESET text shows that in this menu the left button has the reset function.)
An alternative way to reset the meter is to wait untill the auto shut off time
(see chapter 6.5) has elapsed and restart the meter by pumping grease though it.
To light up the display when working in dark environments press the button.
The light will automatically switch off 5 seconds after the grease flow has stopped.
The battery symbol indicates how much power is left in the batteries.
Permanent installation (in conjunction with an automatic lubrication systems)
Activate this mode by setting the auto shut off time to “stby” (see chapter 6.5).
In this mode the display don’t activate when it detects grease flow.
The Grease Meter measures the amount passing through it.
Use the button to turn the display on or off (>2 seconds to turn it off).
When this mode is active there is a “STBY”
in the lower right corner on the display.

This mode is for permanent installation on a pipe to check amount passing through the
pipe. This mode is very battery efficient. The batteries can last several years.
6.1 Menu functionality
To enter the menu press the and buttons at the same time.
The first option in the menu is the sub total counter.
Press ENTER (left button) to display this value and
reset it if required or press NEXT (right button) for the
following option in the menu.
The second option in the menu is total counter. Press
ENTER (left button) to display this value and reset it if
required or press NEXT (right button) for the following
option in the menu.
The third option in the menu is for calibration of the
grease meter. Press ENTER (left button) to display
the calibration value and adjust it if required or press
NEXT (right button) for the following option in the
menu.
The fourth option in the menu is for displayed units.
Press ENTER (left button) to display or change the
used unit or press NEXT (right button) for the following
option in the menu.
The fifth option in the menu is the auto shut off time.
Press ENTER (left button) to display or change the
auto shut off time or NEXT (right button) for the
following option in the menu.
The last option in the menu is to set the light level
of backlight. Press ENTER (left button) to display
or change the light level of backlight or NEXT
(right button) for the first option in the menu.
It is always possible to exit the menus and return to normal measuring state by pressing
the and buttons at the same time.

6.2 Sub total and total counter
The grease meter is equipped with a SUB TOTAL and TOTAL counter that can be reset.
Go to the counter option in the menu (see 6.1) to display this value and possibly reset it.
The display shows:
Press ENTER (the left button).
The display shows:
This shows you the SUB TOTAL amount of grease
that has passed the meter since the last reset.
To reset the sub total counter, press ZERO (right button).
To exit the menu press EXIT (left button).
The TOTAL counter is set in the same manner.
6.3 Calibration of the meter
The grease meter can be calibrated for different grease types, characteristics and densities.
6.3.1 Calculate the correction factor
Correction factor = real quantity / shown quantity
Example:
500 grams of grease have been dispensed.
The grease meter shows 485 GRAM.
Correction factor = 500 / 485 = 1,03
6.3.2 Calculate the calibration factor
The new calibration factor = the old calibration factor × the correction factor.
Example:
The old calibration factor is 700.
The correction factor is calculated as 1,03.
The new calibration factor = 700 × 1,03 = 721

6.3.3 Change the calibration factor
Go to the calibration option in the menu (see 6.1)
to display and change the calibration factor.
Press ENTER (left button). The display shows the
current calibration factor:
The highlighted digit can be stepped up by pressing
STEP (right button):
To highlight the next digit, press ENTER (left button):
Continue to press STEP and ENTER to set the correct
calibration factor.
When the last digit has been accepted by pressing
ENTER, the display shows:
Press ENTER (left button) to accept and save the new
calibration or press CANCEL (right button) to cancel the
changes and return to the old calibration factor.

6.4 Change the displayed units
The grease meter can show the grease amount in four different units cm3, gram, oz, and
fl oz (US).
Go to the unit option in the menu (see 6.1) to display
and change the used unit.
Press ENTER (left button), the display shows:
Press STEP (right button) to step to next unit:
Press ENTER (left button) to accept and save the
new unit.
6.5 Change auto shut off time
The grease meter can set to automatically shut off after 2 seconds, 4 seconds,
1 minute, 4 minutes or 8 minutes or work in STANDBY mode.
Press ENTER (left button): the display will show:
Press STEP (right button) to move forward to the
next time or STANDBY mode.
Press ENTER (left button) to accept and save the
new time.

6.6 Change backlight
The backlight of the grease meter can be set to low or how power setting.
Press ENTER (left button): the display will show:
Press ENTER (left button) to choose low power setting
or press STEP (right button) to change to:
Press ENTER (left button) to choose high power setting
or press STEP (right button) to go back to previous
choice.

1. Application
Le compteur de graisse SKF LAGM 1000E mesure avec précision la quantité de graisse
appliquée à un roulement ou autre point de lubrification. Il peut être raccordé à des
pompes de graissage à commande pneumatique, électrique ou manuelle.
2. Description
Le compteur de graisse mesure la quantité de graisse qui passe à travers ce compteur. La
quantité de graisse appliquée peut être affichée en cm3, gramme, oz (once) ou fl oz (once
liquide, soit 0,03 litre) (US). Le compteur de graisse est facile à calibrer et l’afficheur est
muni d’un rétroéclairage qui permet son utilisation dans des environnements sombres.

4. Installation ou changement de pile
Retirer soigneusement la protection en caoutchouc.
Vérifier la polarité avant d’installer la pile.
Jeter la pile conformément à la réglementation locale.

5. Instructions d’assemblage
Remplacer le tube de lubrification ou le flexible
à haute pression de votre pompe par le compteur
de graisse. Si vous le souhaitez, il est possible de
rajouter le tuyau de raccordement souple
1077601 au tube haute pression.
6. Mode d’emploi
Installation mobile avec un pistolet ou une pompe à graisse
Il existe deux façons de démarrer le compteur de graisse. Utilisez-le en pompant la graisse
à travers l’appareil ou appuyez sur le bouton pour passer à la mesure précédente:
L’écran s’allume:
Pour réinitialiser le compteur de graisse après chaque distribution, appuyez sur le bouton
. (Le texte RESET (Réinitialiser) indique que dans ce menu, le bouton gauche comporte
la fonction de réinitialisation.)
Une alternative à la réinitialisation du compteur consiste à attendre que le délai d’arrêt
automatique se soit écoulé (voir chapitre 6.5) et à redémarrer le compteur en pompant la
graisse à travers.
Pour allumer l’écran lorsque vous travaillez dans des environnements sombres, appuyez
sur le bouton . La lumière s’éteint automatiquement 5secondes après l’arrêt du débit
de graisse.
Le symbole de batterie indique le niveau d’alimentation restant dans les piles.
Installation permanente (avec un système de lubrification automatique)
Activez ce mode en réglant le délai d’arrêt automatique sur «stby» (veille) (voir chapitre
6.5).
Dans ce mode, l’écran ne s’active pas lorsqu’il détecte un flux de graisse.
Le compteur de graisse mesure la quantité de graisse qui le traverse.
Utilisez le bouton pour activer ou désactiver l’écran (>2secondes pour le désactiver).
Lorsque ce mode est activé, le texte
«STBY» (Veille) apparaît dans le coin
inférieur droit de l’écran.

Ce mode est destiné à vérifier la quantité de graisse traversant la conduite dans le cadre
d’une installation permanente sur une conduite. Ce mode consomme très peu d’énergie.
Les piles peuvent durer plusieurs années.
6.1 Options du menu
Pour accéder au menu appuyer en même temps sur les boutons et .
Première option du menu : Sous total du totalisateur.
Appuyer sur ENTER (bouton de gauche) pour afficher
ou réinitialiser la valeur.
Appuyer sur NEXT (bouton de droite) pour afficher
l’option suivante dans le menu.
Seconde option du menu : totalisateur.
Appuyer sur ENTER (bouton de gauche) pour afficher
ou réinitialiser la valeur.
Appuyer sur NEXT (bouton de droite) pour afficher
l’option suivante dans le menu.
Troisième option du menu : calibration du compteur
de graisse. Appuyer sur ENTER (bouton de gauche)
afin d’afficher et régler par palier la valeur du facteur
de calibrage. Appuyer sur NEXT (le bouton de droite)
pour afficher l’option suivante dans le menu.
Quatrième option du menu : unités affichées (cm3,
grammes, oz, et fl oz (US)). Appuyer sur ENTER
(bouton de gauche) afin d’afficher ou modifier l’unité
utilisée. Appuyer sur NEXT (bouton de droite) pour
afficher l’option suivante dans le menu.
La cinquième option du menu est le délai d’arrêt
automatique. Appuyez sur ENTER (bouton gauche)
pour afficher ou modifier le délai d’arrêt automatique
ou sur NEXT (bouton droit) pour atteindre l’option
suivante du menu.
La dernière option du menu permet de régler le niveau
d’éclairage du rétroéclairage. Appuyez sur ENTER
(bouton gauche) pour afficher ou modifier le niveau
d’éclairage du rétroéclairage ou sur NEXT (bouton
droit) pour atteindre la première option du menu.
Il est toujours possible de quitter les menus et retourner au mode normal de mesure en
appuyant simultanément sur les boutons et .

6.2 Totalisateur
Le compteur de graisse est équipé de fonctions sous totaux et totalisateur. Ce compteur de
graisse peut être réinitialisé à tout moment.
Ouvrir l’option totalisateur dans le menu (paragraphe 6.1) pour afficher et réinitialiser la
valeur si nécessaire.
L’afficheur indique :
Appuyer sur ENTER (bouton de gauche).
L’afficheur indique :
Il indique la quantité de graisse en sous total qui
a traversé le compteur depuis la dernière remise à zéro.
Pour remettre le sous total à zéro, appuyer sur
ZERO (bouton de droite). Pour quitter le menu,
appuyer sur EXIT (bouton de gauche).
Le totalisateur est configuré de la même manière.
6.3 Calibrage du compteur
Il est possible de calibrer le compteur de graisse pour quatre types, caractéristiques et
densités de graisse.
6.3.1 Calculer le facteur de correction
Facteur de correction = quantité réelle / quantité affichée
Exemple :
500 grammes de graisse ont été appliqués.
Le compteur de graisse affiche 485 grammes.
Facteur de correction = 500 / 485 = 1,03
6.3.2 Calculer le facteur de calibrage
Le nouveau facteur de calibrage = l’ancien facteur de calibrage × le facteur de correction.
L’ancien facteur de calibrage est de 700.
Le facteur de correction calculé est de 1,03.
Le nouveau facteur de calibrage = 700 × 1,03 = 721.

6.3.3 Modifier le facteur de calibrage
Ouvrir l’option calibration dans le menu (voir
paragraphe 6.1) pour afficher et modifier le facteur
de calibrage.
Appuyer sur ENTER (bouton de gauche).
L’afficheur indique le facteur de calibrage actuel:
On peut augmenter le chiffre en surbrillance par
paliers en appuyant sur STEP (bouton de droite):
Pour mettre en surbrillance le chiffre suivant, appuyer
sur ENTER (bouton de gauche):
Continuer d’appuyer sur STEP et ENTER pour consigner
le facteur de calibrage correct.
Une fois que le dernier chiffre a été validé par une
pression de ENTER, l’afficheur indique:
Appuyer sur ENTER (bouton de gauche) pour valider
et sauvegarder le nouveau calibrage ou bien appuyer
sur CANCEL (bouton de droite) pour annuler les
modifications et retourner à l’ancien facteur de calibrage.

6.4 Changer les unités affichées
Le compteur de graisse peut indiquer la quantité de graisse en quatre différentes unités:
cm3, grammes, oz, et fl oz (US).
Ouvrir l’option unité affichée dans le menu (voir
paragraphe 6.1) pour visualiser et modifier l’unité utilisée.
Appuyer sur ENTER (bouton de gauche).
L’afficheur indique:
Appuyer sur STEP (bouton de droite) pour passer à
l’unité suivante.
Appuyer sur ENTER (bouton de gauche) pour
valider et sauvegarder la nouvelle unité.
6.5 Modification du délai d’arrêt automatique
Le compteur de graisse peut régler automatiquement l’arrêt au bout de 2 secondes,
4 secondes, 1 minute, 4 minutes ou 8 minutes ou fonctionner en mode STANDBY (veille).
Appuyez sur ENTER (bouton gauche):
l’écran apparaît:
Appuyez sur STEP (bouton droit) pour avancer jusqu’au
délai suivant ou atteindre le mode STANDBY.
Appuyez sur ENTER (bouton gauche) pour accepter et
enregistrer le nouveau délai.
