Install the SKF TKSA 11 App
using the QR code at right
If you do not have a QR code
reader, follow these steps to
install the App:
1. Make sure you are connected
to a network. Tap the App
Store icon*
3. Tap the Search area
4. Enter “SKF TKSA 11”
5. Tap FREE
6. Tap INSTALL
7. If asked, enter your Apple ID password
8. Once downloaded,
open the Shaft
Alignment App
on your mobile
phone or tablet

* The SKF TKSA 11 App is only available for Apple mobile devices at this time.
Compatible devices include: iPod Touch 5th generation and above, iPhone 4S,
iPhone 5 and above, iPad mini and above, iPad 3rd generation and above.
Detailed mounting and operating instructions, including
helpful videos, can be found in the SKF TKSA 11 App under
the information icon . Select the Help option in the menu.

Mount the measuring unit
1. Mount shaft V-bracket with
magnetic bar holder to the
stationary machine. Attach the
other shaft V-bracket to the
movable machine (motor).
2. On the magnetic bar holder,
place the shortest bar that
still spans between the
shaft brackets.
3. Mount the measuring unit on
the rods at the movable side.
Adjust the gap between the
inductive proximity sensors
and the reference bar to
approx. 3 mm (1/8 inch).
3. The SKF TKSA 11 can
be mounted directly on
couplings when needed.
4. Switch on the unit by pushing
the Power button at the top of
the unit. The status LED will
turn green when on.
Connect the App to the measuring unit
1. Make sure both the SKF TKSA 11
unit and your Apple mobile device’s
Bluetooth are on. The first screen
is the Select Unit screen. Select
the SKF TKSA 11 serial number
to connect the measuring unit to
the App. The blue LED light will
appear when the connection has
been made.
2. Tap on the plus sign in the
center to start a new alignment.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions
for the alignment process.

extras including built-in Instructions for
Use, helpful videos, and web links. Tap
on the information icon for access.
The help welcome screen is shown
at right, with the Instructions for Use
at the top, followed by instructional

Safety recommendations
• The complete instructions for use are available on SKF.com
and within the SKF TKSA 11 App.
• Read and follow all warnings in this document before
handling and operating the equipment. You can be seriously
injured, equipment and data can be damaged if you do
not follow the safety warnings.
• Always read and follow the operating instructions.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep
your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts.
• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at
all times to enable better control of the device during
unexpected situations.
• Use safety equipment. Non-skid safety shoes, hard hat or
hearing protection must be used for appropriate conditions.
• Never work on energized equipment unless authorized by
a responsible authority. Always turn off the power of the
machine before you start.
• Do not expose the equipment to rough handling or impacts
this will void the warranty.
• Avoid direct contact with water, wet surfaces, or
condensing humidity.
• Do not attempt to open the device.
• Use only accessories that are recommended by SKF.
• Device service must be performed only by qualified SKF
repair personnel.
• We recommend calibrating the tool every 2 years.
