1. Application
The aluminium heating ring is developed for dismounting inner rings of cylindrical roller
bearings. The aluminium ring is available for all bearing sizes of the NU, NJ and NUP
series, i.e. bearings without flanges or with only one flange in the inner ring.
The rings are available as standard for the following bearing sizes:
• 204 to 252
• 304 to 340
• 406 to 430
Heating rings can be made to order for other types of cylindrical roller bearing, e.g. of
type NNU and needle roller bearings.
2. Technical data
The heating ring is made of an aluminium alloy.
Two different designs are available:
a) Bore < 200 mm.
The ring is equipped with three handles as shown on the picture.
b) Bore > 200 mm.
The ring is equipped with a special locking device for pressing the ring around the
bearing and two handles to facilitate the positioning of the ring.

3. Dismounting procedure
a) Clean the inner ring and aluminium ring.
b) Coat the raceway of the inner ring with an oil with following specifications:
• heat resisting 280 oC (536 oF).
• heat transmitting.
• rust preventing.
• high viscosity.
c) Heat the aluminium ring to 280 oC (536 oF).
For correct temperature control SKF advises the use of a thermometer, e.g. the SKF
Advanced thermolaser TMTL 1400K with surface probe TMDT 2-30.
d) Place the aluminium ring around the bearing inner ring and press the handles together
(or clamp locking device). Wait for a short time, then try to rotate the tool with the ring
until it comes loose from the shaft.
For mounting it is recommended to heat the bearing inner ring by means of a Hot Plate
or Induction Heater. No open fire, as this might change the material structure.

1. Application
La bague chauffante en aluminium a été conçue pour le démontage des bagues
interieures des roulements à rouleaux cylindrique. La bagues en aluminium est
disponible dans toutes les tailles de roulements des séries NU, NJ et NUP, c’est-à-dire les
roulements sans épaulements ou avec un seul épaulement sur la bague interieure.
En standard, les bagues sont disponibles dans les tailles de roulement suivantes:
• 204 à 252
• 304 à 340
• 406 à 430
Les bagues chauffantes peuvent être adaptées à d’autres types de roulements à rouleaux
cylindriques, c’est-à-dire de type NNU et aux roulements à aiguilles.
2. Caractéristiques techniques
La bague chauffante est fabriquée en alliage d’aluminium.
Il existe deux modèles différents:
a) Alésage < 200 mm.
La bague est dotée de trois prises comme illustré sur la photo.
b) Alésage > 200 mm.
La bague est dotée d’un dispositif de blocage spécial destiné à presser la bague autour
du roulement et de deux prises pour faciliter le positionnement de la bague.

3. Procédure de démontage
a) Nettoyez la bague interieure et la bague en aluminium.
b) Enduisez le passage de la bague interieure d’une huile répondant aux spécifications
suivantes:
• résistance à la chaleur 280 oC (536 oF).
• transmission de la chaleur.
• prévention contre la rouille.
• haute viscosité.
c) Chauffez la bague en aluminium à 280 oC (536 oF).
Pour un contrôle correct de la température, SKF recommande l’utilisation d’un
thermomètre, par ex. Thermomètre de haute technologie à distance et à contact
ThermoLaser TMTL 1400K de SKF doté de deux sondes de surface TMDT 2-30.
d) Placez la bague en aluminium autour de la bague interieure du roulement et pressez
les prises l’une vers l’autre (ou serrez un dispositif de blocage). Attendez un moment
puis essayez de faire tourner l’outil avec la bague jusqu’à ce qu’il se détache de l’axe.
Pour le montage, il est recommandé de chauffer la bague interieure au moyen d’une
plaque chauffante ou d’un chauffage à induction. Pas de flamme directe car elle pourrait
endommager la structure du matériau.

1. Anwendung
Der Aluminium Ring wird zur Demontage von Zylinderrollenlager- Innerringen verwendet.
Aluminium Ringe sind erhältlich für alle Lagergrößen der NU, NJ und NUP Serien, d.h.
Lager ohne Flansch oder mit einem Flansch am Innenring.
Folgende Standardgrößen sind erhältlich:
• 204 bis 252
• 304 bis 340
• 406 bis 430
Specialanfertigungen für andere Lagertypen, z.B. NNU oder Nadellager sind möglich.
2. Technische Daten
Die Ringe werden aus einer Alu-Legierung gefertigt.
Zwei verschiedene Ausführungen sind erhältlich:
a) Bohrung > 200 mm:
mit drei Handgriffen gemäß Abbildung.
b) Bohrung < 200 mm:
mit Spannverschluß und zwei Handgriffen, zur einfachen Positionierung auf dem
Lagerring.

3. Demontage-Vorgang
a) Lager-Innenring und Bohrung des Aluminium Rings reinigen.
b) Öl mit folgenden Spezifikationen auf Lagerring auftragen:
• Temperaturbeständigkeit 280 oC (536 oF).
• gute Wärmeübertragung.
• gute Korrosionsschutz-Eigenschaften.
• hohe Viskosität.
c) Aluminium Ring auf 280 oC (536 oF) erwärmen.
Für Korrekte Temperaturkontrolle ist das SKF Infrarot- und Kontakt-Thermometer
ThermoLaser mit Oberflächenfühler TMDT 2-30 empfohlen.
d) Aluminium Ring über den Lagerring schieben und Griffe zusammenpressen bzw.
Spannverschluß schließen. Nach kurzer Zeit löst sich der Lagerring von der Welle und
kann leicht demontiert werden.
Für die Wälzlagermontage sind Anwärmgeräte mit Temperaturkontrolle empfohlen, wie
z.B. Heizplatte oder Induktiv-Anwärmgerät.
Keine offene Flamme verwenden, es besteht die Gefahr der Strukturveränderung im
Material.

1. Aplicación
El aro de aluminio de calentamiento está desarrollado para desmontar los aros interiores
de los rodamientos de rodillos cilíndricos. El aro de aluminio está disponible para todos
los tamaños de rodamientos de las series NU, NJ y NUP, es decir, aros sin pestañas o con
sólo una pestaña en su aro interior.
Los aros están disponibles de forma estándar para los siguientes tamaños de
rodamientos:
• 204 a 252
• 304 a 340
• 406 a 430
Se pueden fabricar aros de calentamiento bajo pedido para otros tipos de rodamientos de
rodillos cilíndricos, por ejemplo del tipo NNU y rodamientos de agujas.
2. Datos técnicos
El aro de calentamiento está hecho de una aleación de aluminio.
Hay disponibles dos diseños diferentes:
a) Diámetro interior < 200 mm.
El aro está provisto de tres asas tal y como se muestra en el dibujo.
b) Diámetro interior > 200 mm.
El aro está provisto de un mecanismo de cierre especial, el cual presiona el aro sobre
el rodamiento y dos asas para colocar con mayor facilidad el aro.
