1.PRIOR INFORMATION
1.1.Field of application
The Pergola 50, Pergola 60 drives are designed to drive all types of Pergola awnings, except Pergola awnings with tiltable
slats.
The Pergola 50, Pergola 60 drives are designed to motorise all types of:
▪ Outdoor awning with or without cassette. All shearing zones shall be protected or inaccessible e.g. at a height ≥
2.50m from the ground or any other access level. There is no shearing risk with the front rail when e.g. the front rail
moves solely by gravity with a mass of less than 15kg or it is pushed with force less than 150N.
1.2.Liability
Before installing and using the drive, please read these instructions carefully.
In addition to the instructions provided in this guide, please also comply with the instructions provided in the attached Safety
instructions document.
The drive must be installed by a home motorisation and automation professional, in accordance with Somfy’s
instructions and the applicable regulations in the country of installation.
Any operation of the drive outside the field of application described above is prohibited. Such use, and any failure to comply
with the instructions given in this guide and in the attached Safety instructions document, absolves Somfy of any liability and
invalidates the warranty.
After installing the drive, the installer must inform his customers of the operating and maintenance conditions for the drive
and must provide them with the operating and maintenance instructions, and the attached Safety instructions document.
Any After-Sales Service operation on the drive must be performed by a home motorisation and automation professional.
Never begin installing without first checking the compatibility of this product with the associated equipment and
accessories. If in doubt when installing this product and/or to obtain additional information, contact a Somfy representative
or visit the website www.somfy.com.
2.INSTALLATION
WARNING
• These instructions are mandatory for the home motorisation and automation professional installing the drive.
• Comply with current standards and legislation in the country of installation.
CAUTION
• Never drop, knock or puncture the drive or immerse it in liquid.
• Install an individual control point for each drive.
2.1.Assembly
2.1.1.Preparing the drive
CAUTION
PERGOLA 50 io RGS : interior diameter of the tube has to be Ø47 mm or greater.
PERGOLA 60 io RGS : interior diameter of the tube has to be Ø60 mm or greater.

1] Fit the accessories required to integrate the drive into the tube:
ð Either only wheel (a) on the drive
ð or crown (b) and wheel (c) on the drive.
2] Measure the length (L) between the inner edge of the drive head and the rim
of the wheel.

2.1.2.Preparing the tube
1] Cut the winding tube to the required length, depending on the motorised
product.
2] Deburr the winding tube and remove the swarf.
3] For winding tubes which are smooth inside, cut a notch with the following
measurements:
g PERGOLA 50 io RGS : l= 4mm, L= 28mm.
g PERGOLA 60 io RGS : l= 8mm, L= 35mm.

2.1.3.Assembling the drive-tube
PRECAUTION
The screws or pop rivets must only be fastened on the wheel and not on the
drive.
1] Slide the drive into the winding tube. For winding tubes that are smooth
inside, position the cut notch on the protruding part of the ring.
2] The drive wheel must be locked in a straight line inside the winding tube:
g either by securing the winding tube to the wheel using 4 x Ø5 mm Parker
screws or 4 x Ø4.8 mm steel pop rivets located between 5 mm and 15 mm
form the outside edge of the wheel, irrespective of the type of winding
tube.
g or by using a wheel lock, for non-smooth tubes.

2.1.4.Installing the drive-tube assembly
Secure the tube end piece onto the tube.
WARNING
• The motorised product must not be compressed between the brackets.
• Ensure that the drive-tube assembly is secured onto the end bracket. This operation prevents the tube-drive
assembly from coming out of the end bracket attachment.
Star head drive
1] Install and fix the drive-tube assembly onto the end bracket (f) and the star
head support for the drive (g).
2] Depending on the type of bracket, fit the stop ring (h) in place.

Round head drive
For drives greater than 25 Nm, use an adapted support referenced by Somfy.
1] Install the support (i) on the drive head, then the removable end caps (k).
2] Slide the tube-drive-removable end cap assembly into the head rail.

2.1.5.Wiring
WARNING
Comply with Standard NF C 15-100 for electrical installations.
PRECAUTION
• Cables routed through a metal wall must be protected and insulated by sleeving or sheathing.
• Secure the cables to prevent any contact with moving parts.
• If the drive is used outdoors and if the power supply cable is of the H05-VVF type, run the cable in a UV-resistant
duct, e.g. trunking.
• The drive cable is removable. If it becomes damaged, replace it with an identical cable.
CAUTION
• Leave the drive power supply cable accessible: it must be easily replaceable.
• Always make a loop in the power supply cable to prevent water from entering the drive.

provided in the table below.

3.COMMISSIONING
NOTICE
This guide describes drive set-up using a Somfy io-homecontrol® local control point. A Somfy io-homecontrol® local
control point is a one-way radio transmitter.
Identification of the set-up steps already performed
CAUTION
Power must only be supplied to one drive at a time.
Three different reactions allow the drive status to be identified. Switch off the power for two seconds on a single motorised
product to identify the drive's status:
▪ Reaction 1:
◦ The motorised product moves up and down briefly upon power-up.
◦ The end limits have been set and no control point is programmed.
See section Pre-programming the control point [} 6] then section Programming the first local io-homecontrol
point [}10].

▪ Reaction 2:
◦ The motorised product does not move up and down briefly upon power-up and does not react when the buttons
on the control point are pressed.
◦ The end limits have not been set and no control point is programmed.
See section Pre-programming the control point [}6]
▪ Reaction 3:
◦ The motorised product does not move up and down briefly upon power-up but reacts when the buttons on the
control point are pressed.
◦ The set-up procedure is complete.
To modify the advanced settings, see section Setting advanced functions [}9]

3.1.Pre-programming the control point
1] Switch on the power supply.
2] Simultaneously press the Up and Down button: The motorised product
briefly moves up and down.
g This control point is now preprogrammed in the drive.
NOTICE
Preprogramming is lost if power to the drive is switched off before the control
point is registered.

3.2.Checking the direction of rotation
Press the Up button on the control:
▪ If the motorised product rises (a), the direction of rotation is correct.
▪ If the motorised product lowers (b), the direction of rotation is not correct:
◦ Press and hold the My button until the motorised product moves up and
down: the rotation direction has now been modified.

3.3.Setting the end limits
NOTICE
• The end limits can be set in any order.
• The procedure used to set the end limits depends on the equipment of the motorised product (see table below).
• Pressing and holding the Up or Down buttons causes the motorised product to raise or lower continuously.
• Pressing the Up or Down buttons briefly causes the motorised product to raise or lower briefly.

3.3.2.Manual adjustment of the lower end limit and automatic adjustment of
the upper end limit
1] Position the motorised product at its half-way position.
2] Press the Down button: the motorised product lowers.
3] Press the my to stop the motorised product at the lower end limit position (if
necessary, adjust the position of the motorised product using the Up or
Down buttons).
4] Press the my and Up buttons simultaneously: the motorised product raises.
5] Press the my to stop the motorised product.
6] Press the my until the motorised product moves up and down briefly to
validate the lower end limit setting.
NOTICE
After pressing the my button, the upper end limit is adjusted automatically.

3.3.3.Manual adjustment of the lower end limit and automatic adjustment of
the upper end limit with automatic catching system
NOTICE
The catching system at the lower end limit may vary depending on the motorised
product, but the procedure for setting the entrance/exit positions of the catches
remains the same on all systems.
1] Position the motorised product at its half-way position.
2] Press and hold the Up and Down buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds: the
motorised product performs a slower up and down movement.
3] Press the Down button: the motorised product lowers.
4] Press the my button to stop the product at position (P1), which corresponds
to the automatic catching system's entrance point.
5] Press the my and Up buttons simultaneously: the motorised product raises
and stops, putting tension on the fabric.
6] Press the Down button: the motorised product lowers.
7] Press the my button to stop the motorised product at position (P2), which
corresponds to the automatic catching system's exit point.
8] Press the my button until the motorised product moves up and down briefly
to validate the end limit setting.

3.3.4.Manual adjustment of end limits with the automatic catching system
NOTICE
The catching system at the lower end limit may vary depending on the motorised
product, but the procedure for setting the entrance/exit positions of the catches
remains the same on all systems.
1] Position the motorised product at its half-way position.
2] Press and hold the Up and Down buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds: the
motorised product performs a slower up and down movement.
3] Press the Up button: the motorised product raises.
4] Press the my button to stop the motorised product at the upper end limit
position (if necessary, adjust the position of the motorised product using the
Up or Down buttons).
5] Press the my and Down buttons simultaneously: the motorised product
lowers.
6] Press the my button to stop the product at position (P1), which corresponds
to the automatic catching system's entrance point.
7] Press the my and Up buttons simultaneously: the motorised product raises
and stops, putting tension on the fabric.
8] Press the Down button: the motorised product lowers.
9] Press the my button to stop the motorised product at position (P2), which
corresponds to the automatic catching system's exit point.

3.4.Setting advanced functions
NOTICE
Set the advanced functions after having performed the end limit settings (§2.3.4) and before programming the Somfy
io-homecontrol® local control point (§2.3.6).Consequences
To modify these advanced functions after the first control point programming step, simply switch off the power briefly.
Adjustment of the advanced functions of the motorised product is then possible during four complete raise/lower cycles.
3.4.1.Setting the "Back-release" for driven products with top stop only
NOTICE
This function releases tension on the fabric after the motorised product is closed
at the top stop against the head rail.
The Back Release function is deactivated by default.
To activate or deactivate the function:
1] Place the motorised product at its upper end limit.
2] Press the my and Down buttons simultaneously until the motorised product
moves up and down briefly.
ð If the "Back release" function was deactivated, it is now activated.
ð If the "Back release" function was activated, it is now deactivated.
g In order to check the "Back release" function, position the motorised
product at its half-way position, then press Up to raise the motorised
product to the top stop.

3.4.2.Setting the fabric tensioning with automatic catching system at lower end
limit
NOTICE
• This function is used to adjust the fabric tension of the motorised product on
3 threshold levels (strong-medium-weak).
• By default, fabric tension level is set on medium.
To adjust the fabric tension:
1] Place the motorised product at its half-way position.
2] Briefly press the my and Down buttons simultaneously, immediately followed
by pressing and holding the my and Down buttons simultaneously until the
motorised product moves up and down briefly.
NOTICE
The drive is now in set mode for ten seconds only.
3] Adjust the fabric tension using the Up or Down buttons.
ð To increase the tension on the fabric, press the Up button until the
motorised product moves up and down slowly: the fabric tension of the
motorised product passes to the upper threshold.
ð To decrease the tension on the fabric, press the Down button until the
motorised product moves up and down slowly: the fabric tension passes
to the lower threshold.
4] To validate the setting, press the my button until the motorised product
moves up and down briefly.

3.4.3.Setting the detection level of sensitivity in case of obstacle
NOTICE
Level 2 is the factory level
To customize the obstacle detection threshold:
1] Move the motorised product to the middle position.
2] Briefly press simultaneously the Up and my buttons then immediately press
simultaneously the Up and my buttons again for 2 seconds until an up and
down movement.
3] Press the Up or Down button to increase/decrease the closure or opening
level of 1 to 3.
4] Press the my button until an up and down movement to save the chosen
level.

3.5.Programming the first local io-homecontrol point
NOTICE
Programming (final) of the first control point is possible only if the end limits of the motorised product are set.
3.5.1.Programming the pre-programmed io-homecontrol point
Press the Prog. button of the preprogrammed control point: the motorised product
briefly moves up and down; the control point is programmed definitively.

3.5.2.Programming an io-homecontrol point that has not been pre-
programmed
1] Switch off the power supply (the pre-programmed control point is deleted).
2] Switch the mains power supply back on. The motorised product briefly moves
up and down.
3] Simultaneously press the Up and Down button of the control point to be
programmed until the motorised product briefly moves up and down.
4] Briefly press the PROG button of this control point: the motorised product
briefly moves up and down; the control point is programmed.

3.6.Tips and advice on installation
3.6.1.Questions about the product?
Observations Possible causes Solutions
The motorised product does not
operate.
The wiring is incorrect. Check the wiring and modify it if
necessary, referring to Wiring [}5] .
The drive's overheating protection has
tripped.
Wait for the drive to cool down
The control point battery is low. Check the battery and replace it as
required.
The control point is not compatible. Check the compatibility and replace the
control point if necessary.
The control point used has not been
programmed into the drive.

The driven product stops too soon. The ring is not correctly installed. Secure the ring correctly.
The end limits are incorrectly

3.6.2.Re-setting the end limits
NOTICE
• The following steps apply only for end limits that are set manually.
• An io control point must be definitively programmed to carry out these steps.

3.6.2.1. Readjustment of end limits set in manual mode
1] Place the driven product in its end limit position to be modified.
2] Press and hold the Up and Down buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds until
the motorised product moves up and down briefly.
3] Place the motorised product in its new end limit position using the Up or
Down buttons.
4] To validate the setting, press the my button until the motorised product
moves up and down briefly.

3.6.3.Restoring the original configuration
CAUTION
• Only switch off power (double cutout) for the driven product to be reset.
• This reset deletes all programmed control points, sensors and end limit
settings and resets the driven product's favourite (my) position.
1] Position the driven product at its half-way position.
2] Cut the power supply for 2 seconds.
3] Switch the power supply back on for 5 to 15 seconds.
4] Cut the power supply for 2 seconds.
5] Switch the power supply back on: the driven product moves for a few
seconds.
6] Press the PROG button on the Somfy io-homecontrol® local control point
for ≈ 7 s until the driven product moves up and down two times: the drive is
reset to its original configuration.

4.USE AND MAINTENANCE
NOTICE
This drive does not require any maintenance operations.
4.1.Up and Down buttons
Briefly pressing the Up or Down button causes the motorised product to rise or
lower fully.

4.2.Stop function
The motorised product is moving.
Briefly press my:
→The motorised product stops.
4.3.Favourite position (my)
NOTICE
An intermediate position, which is called the “favourite (my) position” and is different from the upper and lower
positions, can be programmed.
NOTICE
Only one favourite (my) position is permitted.

4.3.1.Programming or modifying the favourite position (my)
1] Place the motorised product in the desired favourite position (my).
2] Press the my button for ≈ 5 s until the motorised product moves up and
down:
g The desired favourite position (my) is programmed.
NOTICE
It is not possible to set the favourite position at least 4 seconds from the down
end limit position.

4.3.2.Using the favourite position (my)
Briefly press my: the motorised product starts to move, and stops in the favourite
position (my).
4.4.Fabric tension
NOTICE
Fabric tensioning is possible only at the lower end limit with motorised products equipped with catches.
4.4.1.Motorised product with automatic catching system
NOTICE
Fabric tensioning is always active with a motorised product equipped with an automatic catching system.
▪ To draw the fabric taut
◦ Press the Down button: the motorised product lowers. When it reaches the
lower end limit, the motorised product raises automatically to draw the
fabric taut.

NOTICE
If the fabric is drawn too tightly or not enough, consult a home motorisation and automation professional to adjust
the fabric tension.
▪ To raise the motorised product at the upper end limit
◦ Press the Up button. The motorised product starts by moving downward to
release tension on the fabric, then raises to the upper end limit.

4.4.2.Motorised product with manual catches
NOTICE
The fabric can be drawn taut when the motorised product, equipped with manual catches, is at the lower end limit.
To check whether the function is activated or not
1] Press the Down button: the motorised product lowers to the lower end limit.
2] Do not lock the catches.
3] Press the my button.
ð If the motorised product goes to the favourite (my) position, the fabric
tensioning function is not activated.
ð If the motorised product lowers then raises briefly, the fabric tensioning
function is activated.

To activate/deactivate the function
1] Perform a complete up and down cycle, all the way to the motorised
product's upper and lower end limits.
2] Press the Down button to place the motorised product at the lower end limit.
3] Press the my and Up buttons simultaneously until the motorised product
moves up and down briefly.
ð If the function was deactivated, it is now activated.
ð If the function was activated, it is now deactivated.

To use this function
1] Press the Down button: the motorised product lowers to the lower end limit.
2] Lock the catches manually.
3] Press the my button: the motorised product lowers then raises to draw the
fabric taut.

2] Unlock the catches manually.

4.5."Back impulse" function
NOTICE
Refer to the Somfy professional application to activate this function.
NOTICE
• This function allows the fabric to be stretched after each opening movement of the motorised product. It can be
adjusted up to ½ turn of the tube of the motorised product.
• This function can only be activated once the end-limit setting of the drive is completed.
4.6."Closing force" function on end products

4.8.1.Questions about the product?

4.8.2.In case of an obstacle or failure of the end product
NOTICE
This protection is activated after 1 second of movement in order to avoid any undesirable stop at the start of the
movement (depending on the motorised product, there could be a significant current peak during the first centimetres
of movement).
▪ If an obstacle is detected during the downward movement, the drive stops, and
a release movement of 2 seconds is executed. Then a movement in the same
direction is possible.
NOTICE
Refer to the Somfy professional application to customise the behaviour of
activating or deactivating this function.
▪ If an obstacle is detected during the upward movement, the drive stops, and a
short release movement is executed. Then the movement in the same
direction is not possible.
NOTICE
The threshold and behaviour of this obstacle detection is fixed and not
customisable

Frost protection functions in a similar way to obstacle detection.

If the driven product detects any resistance, it stops automatically.

1.INFORMATIONS PRÉALABLES
1.1.Domaine d’application
Les motorisations Pergola 50, Pergola 60 sont conçues pour motoriser tous types de stores Pergola, excepté les stores
Pergola à lames orientables.
Les motorisations Pergola 50, Pergola 60 sont conçues pour motoriser tous types de :
▪ Stores d’extérieur avec ou sans cassette. Toutes les zones pouvant provoquer un pincement doivent être protégées
ou inaccessibles, par exemple à une hauteur ≥ 2,50 m du sol ou de tout autre niveau d'accès. Il n'y a pas de risque de
pincement avec le rail avant lorsque, par exemple, le rail avant se déplace uniquement par gravité grâce à un poids de
moins de 15 kg ou s'il est poussé avec une force de moins de 150 N.
1.2.Responsabilité
Avant d’installer et d’utiliser la motorisation, lire attentivement cette notice.
Outre les consignes de cette notice, respecter également les consignes détaillées dans le document joint Consignes de
sécurité.
La motorisation doit être installée par un professionnel de la motorisation et de l’automatisation de l’habitat,
conformément aux consignes de Somfy et à la réglementation applicable dans le pays de mise en service.
Toute utilisation de la motorisation hors du domaine d’application décrit ci-dessus est interdite. Elle exclurait, comme tout
irrespect des consignes figurant dans cette notice et dans le document joint Consignes de sécurité, toute responsabilité et
garantie de Somfy.
Après l’installation de la motorisation, l’installateur doit informer ses clients des conditions d’utilisation et de maintenance de
la motorisation et doit leur transmettre les consignes d’utilisation et de maintenance, ainsi que le document joint Consignes
de sécurité. Toute opération de Service Après-Vente sur la motorisation nécessite l’intervention d’un professionnel de la
motorisation et de l’automatisation de l’habitat.
Avant toute installation, vérifier la compatibilité de ce produit avec les équipements et accessoires associés. Si un doute
apparaît lors de l’installation de ce produit et / ou pour obtenir des informations complémentaires, consulter un

2.INSTALLATION
AVERTISSEMENT
• Consignes à suivre impérativement par le professionnel de la motorisation et de l’automatisation de l’habitat
réalisant l’installation de la motorisation.
• Se conformer aux normes et à la législation en vigueur dans le pays d’installation.
ATTENTION
• Ne jamais laisser tomber, choquer, percer, immerger la motorisation.
• Installer un point de commande individuel pour chaque motorisation.
2.1.Assemblage
2.1.1.Préparation de la motorisation
ATTENTION
PERGOLA 50 io RGS : le diamètre intérieur du tube doit être de 47 mm ou plus.
PERGOLA 60 io RGS : le diamètre intérieur du tube doit être de 60 mm ou plus.

1] Monter les accessoires nécessaires à l’intégration de la motorisation dans le
tube :
ð Soit uniquement la roue (a) sur la motorisation.
ð Soit la couronne (b) et la roue (c) sur la motorisation.
2] Mesurer la longueur (L) entre le bord intérieur de la tête de la motorisation et
l’extrémité de la roue.

2.1.2.Préparation du tube
1] Couper le tube d’enroulement à la longueur désirée en fonction du produit
motorisé.
2] Ébavurer le tube d’enroulement et éliminer les copeaux.
3] Pour les tubes d’enroulement dont l’intérieur est lisse, découper une encoche
selon les cotes suivantes :
g PERGOLA 50 io RGS : l = 4 mm, L = 28 mm.
g PERGOLA 60 io RGS : l = 8 mm, L = 35 mm.

2.1.3.Assemblage motorisation-tube
PRÉCAUTION
Les vis ou les rivets pop ne doivent pas être fixés sur la motorisation, mais
uniquement sur la roue.
1] Glisser la motorisation dans le tube d’enroulement. Pour les tubes
d'enroulement lisses à l’intérieur, positionner l’encoche découpée sur l’ergot
de l'anneau.
2] La roue de la motorisation doit être bloquée en translation dans le tube
d'enroulement :
g Soit en fixant le tube d'enroulement sur la roue à l’aide de 4 vis parker Ø5
mm ou 4 rivets pop acier Ø4,8 mm placés entre 5 et 15 mm de l’extrémité
extérieure de la roue, quel que soit le tube d'enroulement.
g Soit par l’utilisation d’un stop roue, pour les tubes non lisses.

2.1.4.Montage de l’ensemble motorisation-tube
Fixer l’embout de tube sur le tube.
AVERTISSEMENT
• Le produit motorisé ne doit pas être comprimé entre les supports.
• S’assurer que l’ensemble tube-motorisation est verrouillé sur le support embout. Cette opération permet d’éviter
à l’ensemble motorisation-tube de sortir de la fixation du support embout.
Motorisation à tête en étoile
1] Monter et fixer l’ensemble tube-motorisation sur le support embout (f) et le
support de tête en étoile pour la motorisation (g).
2] Suivant le type de support, mettre l’anneau d’arrêt (h) en place.
