Purpose of this manual This manual is the installation manual of the multi channel digital disk recorder
FDDR-7000 and the it’s options video channel board set BKFD-7110, video process
board BKFD-7120, SCSI board BKFD-7500, audio board BKFD-7600, HDD
extension box BKFD-7800 and HDD unit BKFD-7009/7009A.
This manual is intended for use by trained system and service engineers, and
describes the information for install the FDDR-7000 and it’s options and,
installation of operation software BZFD-7020.

Installation
1-1. Operating Environment

Avoid placing or using this unit where it will be exposed to
greasy fumes, steam, dampness and dust environments.
If placing or using this unit in these environments, it may
cause a fire and an electric shock.

1. Do not install these units near heat sources.
2. To prevent a temperature rise inside the unit, pay
careful attention to circulation of air in the place where
the unit is installed.
Do not block the ventilation holes on the outer cabinet.
3. Do not install the unit in the following places:
.Where it is subject to direct sun light or strong light.
.Places subject to severe vibration or much dust.
.Places subject to strong electric or magnetic fields.
.In a location subject to much electrical noise especially
subject to static electricity noises.
4. Precautions when installed in vehicle
.Do not attempt to operate (by turning on the main
power) the FDDR-7000 and BKFD-7800 while the
vehicle is moving. (Vehicles are prohibited from
moving while the FDDR-7000 and BKFD-7800 are
turned on.)
.The operating environment must satisfy the following
impact resistance characteristics and vibration resistance
characteristics for hard disks both while the vehicle is
stopped and moving. (The hard disk non-operation
specifications of impact resistance characteristics and
vibration resistance characteristics must also be satisfied,
when a vehicle containing a hard disk moves.)

Operating temperature : +5 to +40 dC (41 to 104 dF)
Performance warranty : +10 to +35 dC (50 to 95 dF)
Storage temperature : _20 to +60 dC (_4 to +140 dF)

A switching regulator is used for the power supply of
FDDR-7000 (Multi-channel digital disk recorder) and
BKFD-7800 (HDD extension box). The voltage within the
range of 100 V to 240 V can be used without changing the
supply voltage.

As the inrush current at turn-on is the maximum 14 A
<FDDR-7000>/4.8 A <BKFD-7800>, the capacity of the
AC power must be commensurate in it with the inrush
current.
If the capacity of the AC power is not the adequately large,
the breaker of the AC power at the supply side will operate
or the unit will abnormal operate.

The power cord is not supplied with FDDR-7000 and
BKFD-7800. Be sure to use the power cord that is
applicable to places in the world.
To avoid a fire or an electric shock, be sure to use the
designated power cord.
And do not damage to the power cord.

1. Be sure to attach the units in a stable place. If the units are attached in a wobbly table or a slant surface, the units may
be dropped. This may cause a injury.
2. Install the unit in a level.
3. When a BKFD-7009/7009A is installed in a vehicle, use impact absorbing materials (such as shock absorber, etc.) such
that the internal hard disk non-operation specifications of the impact resistance characteristics and the vibration
resistance characteristics are satisfied. (Refer to section 1-1.)
