Thank you for purchasing the Spice S-820 Handset Mobile
phone. We built our Handset to give user what we believe
user really want from a wireless phone, clear sound, and
fashion outlook.
Our advanced technology is designed to grow with users
communications needs so that one day you will be able to
rely entirely on users Handset to stay connected.
This guide will familiarize user with our technology and new
Handset phone through simple, easy to follow instructions.
If users have already reviewed the Quick Start Guide, which
was packaged with new Handset, then user is ready to ex-
plore the advanced features outlined in this guide.
If users have not read “Quick Start Guide”, go to Section
One Getting Started. This section provides all the information
user needs to quickly activate phone, and much more.

• During a call, adjusts the earpiece volume.
Left and Right Soft keys

line of LCD. Access main menu and phonebook

In the main display, you may see several icons showed on
your status bar.
The meaning of icons are explained in the below:
The signal strength of the cellular network at
your current location
The battery charge level
Phone locked
Phone is in general or indoor profile
Phone is in outdoor profile
Phone is in meeting, silent profile
Phone is in headset profile
The alarm clock is to set on
You are in roaming

Received one or several messages
All your calls are diverted to another number

BATTERY
You need to insert the SIM card and charge the battery
before using the phone.
• Keep all miniature SIM cards out of the reach of little
children.
• Be careful to handle, insert or remove the SIM card since
the SIM card and its contacts can easily be damaged by
scratched or bending.
• Before installing/removing the SIM card, always make
sure that the phone is switched off.
1. Push up the black button to release the back cover (1)
and lift the battery away. (2).

Press the latch showed in the left drawing and rotate the
battery cover toward to the direction as arrow 2 showed.
Then detach the battery cover from the mobile phone
itself.

#HARGINGTHEBATTERY
You must fully charge the battery before using your phone for
the first time.
Connect the lead from the travel adapter to the socket on
the right of your phone (1).
3WITCHINGTHEPHONEONANDOFF
Press and hold Red key.
Note:
• If the phone shows “Insert SIM” when SIM card is
properly inserted, contact your network operator or
service provider.
• You can also use the phone without SIM card. The
workable function would include multimedia, profiles,
Organizers& time and date except the dialing out and
receiving the phone call. If the phone asks PIN code,
key in the PIN code, and press left soft key
(LSK) to confirm.
• Do not switch the phone on when wireless phone use
is prohibited or when it may cause interference or
danger.

This gives you information about the calling service that
support in your phone.

In standby mode, key in the number, including the area code,
press Green key.

1 In standby mode, press right soft key (RSK) to
enter name list, move scroll to the desired name or type
the name in the input box, follow by pressing Green
key to call.
2 You could also press Menu and choose to enter
Phonebook submenu to make a call.

1 For international calls, long press key for the
international prefix (character +).
2 Key in the country code, area code and the phone num
ber.
3 Press Green to call.

ORCONFERENCECALL
You are also allowed to send SMS when incoming call.
1 Press “Options” and select Messages to write message.
2 For details on SMS please see “To write a text
message” on page 37.
#ALLWAITING
You can answer another incoming call while you have a call
in progress.
1. During a call, press left soft key (LSK) to enter
option menu to hold the current call and switch to the
new incoming call. You can swap back anytime by
pressing left soft key (LSK) again and select
Swap.
-AKEACONFERENCECALL
You can make conference call while you have multi calls in
progress.
1. Make a call to the first participant.
2. Press Options and select New Call to call the second
participant.
3. Press LSK and select Conference. This joins the calls to
the conference.
4. Repeat step 2 and 3 to allow new participants to be
connected to the conference call.
5. Press Options and select End all to end the call. Or press
Red key.

6. Any call (participant) can be disconnected by pressing
Options and select End single.
4IPSFORCALLOPTIONS
A call can be connected to any single caller by pressing
Options. When you press Options during active call, you
would have following functions as listed in below:
• Hold: put a call on hold
• End: End a call.
• New Call: make a new call during an active call.
• Phonebook: shortcut to Phonebook menu.
• Messages: shortcut to Messages menu to write text
message.
• Sound Recorder: to record your conversation during an
active phone call.
• Mute: set On/ Off to mute the call during the conversa
tion.
• DTMF: set On / Off for DTMF (Dual Tone Multi-
Frequency) tone dialing system.
During Multi-party call, you would have H-Free/ H-Held
option.
• H-Free/H-Held: to choose either Hands free or held
when multi-party call.
During conference call, you would have following functions as
listed in below:
• Swap: switch between calls on hold and active.
• Conference: make a multi-party conversation.
• Transfer: transfer a call.
• End Single: end one of conference call.
• End All: end a multi-party call.

• Phonebook:
shortcut to Phonebook menu.
• Messages: shortcut to Messages menu to write text
message.
• Sound Recorder: to record your conversation during an
active phone call.
• Mute: set On/ Off to mute the call during the
conversation.
• DTMF: set On / Off for DTMF (Dual Tone Multi-
Frequency) tone dialing system.
• Retrieve: reconnect a holding call
• Retrieve all: reconnect all holding call.

You can key in text by using the traditional method or
predictive smart input. Your phone is designed to support
English and Hindi. You can select the preferred language
from Input method option otherwise the default language will
be the same as you select from display setting.

• In T9Abc, you could use key to insert spaces.

Your phone provides Multi-tap function. For example, press
key twice to display the letter B, and press three
times to display the letter C.

4EXTENTRYWITH4
“T9” uses a built-in dictionary to recognize the most
commonly used word for every sequence of key presses.
The selected input method will be shown the icon in the
indication bar. You can choose to turn on or off your T9 input
method in option list.

Your phonebook list is saved either in the SIM card’s
memory or Phone’s memory. You can also choose to save in
both memories.

Note:
To quick change the input method, short press pound (#)
key.
Your phone provides the following selections for Entry
Options:
• View: Allow you to read the phonebook contact’s
information.
• Edit: Allow you to edit name & phone number of the
contact person.
3EARCH
Allow you to search names and numbers saved in the
Phonebook.
4OSEARCHANUMBERANDANAME
1. In Phonebook menu, enter Search, key in full name or
first character of contact person’s name. The phonebook
list will automatically jump to the character you have
entered or the matched contact will be shown.
2. Also, you can review the phonebook list by scrolling up/
down the navigation key . Select the one you wish
to call by pressing Green Key to start making
a call.
3. You can press (Center-OK key) to view the contact
person’s information. You can also press Options to edit
the selected phone number.
