A Word From STERIS
This manual contains important information on proper use and maintenance. All personnel
involved in the use and maintenance of this equipment must carefully review and become
familiar with any Safety Precautions and Instructions contained in this manual. These
instructions are important to the health and safety of personnel operating the equipment and
should be retained in a conveniently accessible area for quick reference. Complete instructions for
uncrating this equipment has been furnished. If missing, contact STERIS for replacement copies,
giving the serial, equipment, and model numbers of the unit.
Intended Use
The AMSCO® Reprocessing Sink is designed to facilitate productivity, organization, and instrument management as
well as process and workflow changes. The sink’s versatile configurations meet the ergonomic needs of a diverse
workforce.
Advisory
A summary of the safety precautions to be observed when operating and servicing this equipment follow this section.
Do not operate or service equipment until becoming familiar with this information.
Any alteration of this equipment not authorized or performed by STERIS Service Engineering will void the warranty and
could adversely affect equipment operation.
Service Information
A thorough preventative maintenance program is essential for safe and proper equipment operation. Customers are
encouraged to contact STERIS concerning our annual maintenance program. Under the terms of the program,
preventive maintenance, adjustments, and replacement of worn parts are provided on a scheduled basis to hep assure
equipment performance and to minimize untimely or costly schedule interruptions. STERIS maintains a worldwide staff
of well-equipped, factory-trained technicians to provide these services, as well as onsite installation, training, and

Safety Precautions
2.1 Safety Precautions
The following Safety Precautions must be observed when operating or servicing the equipment. WARNING indicates the
potential for personal injury and CAUTION indicates the potential for damage to equipment. For emphasis, certain Safety
Precautions are repeated throughout the manual. It is important to review ALL Safety Precautions before operating or
servicing the reprocessing sink.
Strictly following these Safety Precautions enhances the Customer’s ability to safely and effectively utilize the reprocessing sink
and helps avoid improper maintenance methods which may damage the reprocessing sink or render it unsafe. It is important to
understand that these Safety Precautions are not exhaustive; Customers are encouraged to develop their own safety policies and
procedures to enhance and complement these Safety Precautions.
WARNING-PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR EQUIPMENT DAMAGE HAZARD:
Only STERIS or STERIS-trained service personnel may perform repairs and adjustments to this
equipment. Maintenance performed by inexperienced, unqualified personnel or installation of
unauthorized parts could cause personal injury, invalidate the warranty, or result in costly
equipment damage. Contact STERIS regarding service options.
Use only original parts when servicing the equipment. The safety, reliability, and function of
the AMSCO Reprocessing Sink are insured only if STERIS original parts and accessories (or
parts and accessories approved by STERIS) are used for service, repairs, and modifications to
this equipment. The replacement of spare parts must only be performed by STERIS or STERIS-
trained technicians.
Regular scheduled preventive maintenance is required for safe and reliable operation of this
equipment. Contact STERIS to schedule preventive maintenance.
Unplug unit when cleaning lifting columns or cleaning near controller.
CAUTION-POSSIBLE EQUIPMENT DAMAGE HAZARD::
Do not operate height adjustment for more than rating of duty cycle. The maximum duty cycle
is 10% approximately 6 minutes per hour or 2 minutes at continuous use at full load. Use
beyond duty cycle can cause controller to overheat and shut down for 20 minutes.
Overloading controller more often than recommended can damage controller.
Ensure there are no obstructions that will interfere with the sink's range of motion while
operating the lifting legs.

If gap is too large, the tail piece will bottom out as sink is lowered, causing damage. If gap is
too small, the tail piece will leak when sink is fully raised.
Unplug unit when cleaning lifting columns or cleaning near controller.
Causing unit to overheat too many times greatly reduces life of unit and could damage unit,
making it inoperable, requiring replacement.
Use non-abrasive polish to clean the sink. Rub in a back and forth motion in the same direction
of surface grain. Only wipe down sink. DO NOT use a sprayer to wash and/or rinse sink.

3.1 Installation Instructions

– Rubber Mallet
– Level
– Phillips Screwdriver
– Tape Measure
– Saw (to cut ABS tubing)
– ABS Primer/Glue
– Thread Sealing Tape
3.2 Pre-installation
The AMSCO®Reprocessing Sink should be moved into area intended for installation and kept 3’-4’ (914.4 - 1219.2 mm)
from walls to assemble faucets and lines. All shipping materials should be clear of working area, and boxes with
components should be opened for installation of contents. Be sure to remove all hardware before discarding packaging.
• The pre-rinse faucet(s) and DI (Deionized Water) faucet should be pre-assembled using directions from their
manufacturer.
• Use caution when handling faucets and/or working around sink as the finish can be scratched.
• Verify utility connections are located per equipment drawing specifications.
• All water and air lines need to be flushed before connecting to sink. This way no debris can damage faucet valve
seals.
CAUTION-POSSIBLE EQUIPMENT DAMAGE:
Ensure there are no obstructions that will interfere with the sink's range of motion while operating the
lifting legs.

3.3 Installation Procedure
1. Install Mounting Shanks (on Pre-rinse Faucet)
Insert Brass ½” NPT mounting shank (11001017) into pre-rinse faucet inlets using sealing tape and
tighten.
• Prevent damage to threads. Avoid cross-threading during assembly.
• Insert correct end into the faucet as shown here.

2. Prepare Support Bracket
Remove clamp and set aside.

3. Mount Support Bracket
Mount support bracket to backsplash using two ¼-20 x ¾” machine screws, two ¼” washer, and two ¼-20
nuts.

4. Mount Pre-rinse Faucet
Mount pre-rinse faucet to backsplash with mounting shanks through holes shown.
• Secure pre-rinse faucet using washers and locknuts on back of unit as shown.
• Reassemble clamp (removed in STEP 2) to support bracket.

5. Install Lines and Test for Leaks
Install both braided lines (11001115) using reducing coupling (11000975) as shown below.

• Use thread sealing tape for reducing coupling.
• Ensure all faucet valves are in the closed position to avoid spills on the floor. Leave the faucets in the
off position until the drain is hooked up.
• Test connections for leaks. Any leaks need to be addressed before moving to next step.

6. Install Mounting Shank (on Pure Water Faucet)
Insert stainless steel, or tin lined copper ½” NPT mounting shank (11001022) into Pure Water Faucet inlet
using sealing tape and tighten.
• Prevent damage to threads. Avoid cross-threading during assembly.
• Insert correct end into faucet as shown below.

7. Mount Pure Water Faucet
Where the pure water faucet is mounted determines the workflow of the unit (left to right, or right to
left). Verify desired configuration.
• Two holes are provided on backsplash for either configuration (see above)
• Mount faucet through chosen hole and secure using washers and locknuts like STEP 4, and tighten.
• Be sure faucet is plumb.
• Use hole seal (11001552) to fill unused hole or to mount gun tips mounting bracket (STEP 18).
