Follow each step
in the order presented
in these instructions.
Open the carton carefully as it contains expensive drying equip-
ment. If after uncrating the equipment you find any damage (no
matter how slight), show it to your supervisor.
A listing of the safety precautions to be observed when uncrating
and installing this dryer can be found on Section 1 of these
instructions. Do not begin uncrating/installing this equipment until
you have become familiar with this information.
To properly install this unit, you will need the Equipment Drawing
(previouslyfurnished),showingallutilityserviceandspacerequire-
ments. If drawings cannot be located, replacement copies may be
obtained by writing, wiring, faxing, or telephoning STERIS giving
the serial, equipment and model numbers of your dryer.
If STERIS supervision is desired for installing this equipment,
contact the STERIS Regional Office nearest you.
The Reliance®1024/1034 Laboratory Glassware Dryers are de-
signed for efficient drying laboratory glassware. These dryers are
specifically designed to only process goods as outlined in this
manual. If there is any doubt about a specific material or product,
contact the manufacturer of the product for the recommended
processing technique.
Any alteration of this equipment not authorized or performed by
STERIS Engineering Service which could affect its operation will
void the warranty, could adversely affect sterilization efficacy,
could violate federal, state and local regulations and jeopardize
your insurance coverage.
A thorough preventive maintenance program is essential to safe
and proper unit operation. This manual contains maintenance
schedules and procedures which should be followed for satisfac-
tory equipment performance.
You are encouraged to contact STERIS concerning our compre-
hensive Preventive Maintenance Agreement. Under the terms of
this agreement, preventive maintenance, adjustments, and re-
placement of worn parts are done on a scheduled basis to assure
equipment performance at peak capability and to help avoid
untimely or costly interruptions. STERIS maintains a nationwide
