Welcome
Congratulations on Your Purchase of the New L1810 Laser Cutting Systems
The L1810 Laser cutting system are capable of cutting soft signage applications as well as
roll stock.
Textile is one of the fastest growing markets nowadays, where on-demand digital printing
proved to be the game changer many soft signage, sportswear and fashion brands need.
Printed textiles still require finishing and nothing cuts as accurately as laser cutting. The
contactless cutting method means no fabric distortion, low to none dust generation, no tool
wear and no fraying of synthetic textiles thanks to the edge sealing feature. It can be applied
to any type of material and secures a quick and precise cutting of even the most intricate
designs.

Safety Information
The laser emits invisible radiation; avoid eye or skin exposure to direct or scattered radiation.
Any person or organization performing any modification to the L1810 Laser cutting system is
responsible for ensuring the reclassification and relabeling of the laser product.
The L1810 Laser cutting system must not be operated with any of the safety interlocks,
shutter, guard or protective housings removed. Before commencing any cutting procedure
ensure that the fume extraction system is in good working order and operates correctly.
When closing the safety cover ensure that no fingers or other items can be trapped between
the safety cover and the side pod.
When the safety cover is lifted care must be taken to avoid possible head contact with raised
cover.
Some materials may procedure hazardous fumes if cut using the laser –check with the
material supplier or manufacturer before cutting. Ensure that any fumes are exhausted in
accordance with health and safety requirements. The Electrical enclosure (i.e. doors and
cover pods, etc.) must only be opened by trained service personal. When the laser cutter is
operating, do not leave it unattended at any time.
Ventilation
The cutter has its own extraction system however, good ventilation of the cutting area is
strongly recommended in the event of extraction failure. The cutter must not be left cutting
unattended at any time.
Noise
The noise level does not exceed 75 dBA.
Fire Precautions
The cutting area must be provided with a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher and any relevant
personnel familiarized with its operation.
Training
It is required that all cutter operators receive full degree of training before using the cutter
and that they all read the user manual.
Cutting Materials
The operator must ensure that the materials to be cut are suitable and do not produce toxic
gases when laser cut. The ventilation and extraction system must also be in good condition
before any cutting takes place.
Materials you should not process with a laser machine
The L1810 Laser Cutting System can process a broad range of materials. Only choose
material types that don’t generate harmful emission during the cutting process. Harmful

L1810 User’s Manual
REV. 2 2-12
emission will be generated if any of the following materials are processed (this is not an
exhaustive list and each material must be chosen for its suitability for laser processing):
•Leather and artificial leather that contains chromium (VI)
•Carbon fibers (Carbon)
•Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
•Polyvinyl butyrale (PVB)
•Polytetrafluoroethylenes (PTFE /Teflon)
•Beryllium oxide
•Any materials containing halogens (fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine and astatine),
epoxy or phenolic resins.

machine parts. Keep hands, hair, clothing and jewelry away from moving parts.
Do not wear jewelry, loose clothing, scarves or open jackets or shirtsleeves.
WARNING: Respiratory equipment must be worn for airborne dust particle.
Extraction System
The operator must ensure that the extraction system is working correctly, with no
obstructions in the pipelines. If the laser cutter is operated with a blockage in the extraction
system, this could reduce the effectiveness of the extraction system and lead to local
contamination of the air and a possible Health and Safety hazard.
Personal protective equipment
The required safety equipment depends on the material that needs to be cut. During
operating or servicing the machine the operator should wear close-fitting clothing and use
appropriate protective equipment.
Appropriate protective equipment can include:
•Work clothes
•Mask in case of toxic fume
•Goggles because when processing the material large particles can be generated
•Ear protection if the continuous sound level pressure is above 80dB
