III.Operation
1.Avoiddangerousenvironments—Donotusethe
toolinrainorindamporwetlocations.
2.Usethepropertoolforyourapplication—Using
thebackpackorattachedtoolforpurposesother
thantheirintendedusecouldprovedangerous
toyouandbystanders.
3.Preventunintentionalstarting—Ensurethatthe
switchisintheOFFpositionbeforeconnectingto
thebackpackandhandlingthetool.Donotcarry
thetoolwithyourngerontheswitchorenergize
thetoolwiththeswitchintheONposition.
4.Operatethebackpackandattachedtoolonlyin
daylightorgoodarticiallight.
5.Removethebatterypackfromthebackpack
anddisconnectthetoolbeforeadjustingitor
changingaccessories.
6.Shutoffthetool,removethebatterypackfrom
thebackpack,andwaitforallmovementtostop
beforeadjusting,servicing,cleaning,orstoring
thetoolorbackpack.
7.Removeanybatterypack(s)fromthebackpack
wheneveryouleaveitunattended.
8.Donotforcethepowertool.Usethecorrect
powertoolforyourapplication.Thecorrect
powertoolwilldothejobbetterandsaferatthe
rateforwhichitwasdesigned.
9.Donotoverreach—Keepproperfootingand
balanceatalltimes,especiallyonslopes.Walk,
neverrunwiththebackpack.
10.Stayalert—Watchwhatyouaredoinganduse
commonsensewhenoperatingthebackpack.
Donotusethebackpackwhileill,tired,orunder
theinuenceofalcoholordrugs.
11.Ensurethattheventilationopeningsarekept
clearofdebris.
12.Underabusiveconditions,thebatterypackmay
ejectliquid;avoidcontact.Ifyouaccidently
comeintocontactwiththeliquid,ushwith
water.Iftheliquidcontactsyoureyes,seek
medicalhelp.Liquidejectedfromthebattery
packmaycauseirritationorburns.
13.Donotexposeabatterypackortooltoreor

handlesdry,clean,andfreefromoilandgrease.
2.Whenthebatterypackisnotinuse,keepit
awayfrommetalobjectssuchaspaperclips,
coins,keys,nails,andscrewsthatcanmakea
connectionfrom1terminaltoanother.Shorting
thebatteryterminalsmaycauseburnsorare.
3.Keepyourhandsandfeetawayfrommoving
parts.
4.Shutoffthetool,removethebatterypackfrom
thebackpack,andwaitforallmovementtostop
beforeadjusting,servicing,cleaning,orstoring
thebackpackortool.
5.Checkthebackpackfordamagedparts—Ifthere
aredamagedguardsorotherparts,determine
