WARNING
• The shock absorber hook must be connected to
the dorsal D-ring only (Figure6).
• Do not connect the shock absorber hook to the
anchorage (Figure6).
• Do not attach the second arm from the
TracBloc®2 twin self-retracting lanyard at any
location unless a specially designed lanyard
retainer is provided for this purpose (Figure7).
• Connection of both lanyard arms to separate
anchorage points is acceptable only to allow
the user to move from one location to another
(Figure6).
• Do not connect to anchorage points that are
further apart than the lanyard length (Figure8).
• Never connect more than one person to a
TracBloc® 2 twin self-retracting lanyard
(Figure9).
4.4 Do not allow twists to form in the webbing or
it may not retract properly. Never allow twisted
webbing to create slack conditions.
4.5 Appropriate connectors must be used to
connect the lanyard. All snap hooks used by
Tractel®in the manufacture of lanyards are of
the self-locking type.
WARNING
Never rely on the sound of a snap hook closing;
always visually check that the snap hook is properly
attached and closed.
4.6 Check locking function of the TracBloc®or
TracBloc® 2 self-retracting lanyard before
each use by pulling the end of the webbing
sharply. The lanyard will stop the retraction of
the webbing as soon as the activation speed is
reached. If the lanyard does not lock properly it
must be removed from service and replaced.
5. MARKING AND LABELING
5.1 Read and comply with all markings and/or
labels on the TracBloc®and TracBloc®2 self-
retracting lanyards. The markings and/or labels
must be intact and easy to read.
5.2 The TracBloc®and TracBloc® 2 self-retracting
lanyards are marked and/or labelled as shown
in Figure10, pageE12.
WARNING
Never remove a label from a piece of equipment.
6. MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
6.1 Failure to maintain and store equipment
carefully can result in serious damage that
could lead to serious or fatal injury.
6.2 Repairs must be carried out by Tractel®or by an
authorized repair company.
6.3 Cleaning
The TracBloc®and TracBloc® 2 self-retracting
lanyards can be cleaned using a damp cloth and
hung up to dry out of the sun and away from
exposure to high heat. Items can be cleaned
whenever needed in order to extend the life of
the equipment. It will also be easier to inspect
the unit for damage. Do not use any cleaning
solvent agents, acids, etc. as they may seriously
damage the bres. Do not machine wash.
6.4 Storage
Tractel®equipment should be stored in clean
dry environment free of corrosives and harmful
fumes and out of direct sunlight.
7. PERFORMANCE DATA
7.1 Capacity
The TracBloc®and TracBloc® 2 self-retracting
lanyards are rated at 310 lb. (140 kg). The
combination of the user’s weight, clothing and/
or tools must not exceed 310lb. (140kg).
7.2 Requirements
The TracBloc®and TracBloc® 2 self-retracting
lanyards meet CSA Z259.2.2-18, class SRL,
ANSI Z359.14-2014 and OSHA.
8. INSPECTION
CAUTION
Extreme working conditions (environmental,
prolonged use, etc.) may require increasing the
frequency of inspection.
8.1 All equipment must be inspected visually
before each use and periodically by a
competent person. If damage is detected, as
described below (see 8.3 to 8.9), remove the
item from service immediately and replace it.
If any damage or questionable conditions that
are not described below are apparent, remove
the item from service immediately, replace it
and call Tractel®for advice. Inspection must be
performed at least once a year.
