beused.Iftheuserhasextensiontelephonescareshouldbetakentoensurethatthesearealsoconnectedviathe
ReachTELsocket.Failuretoconnecttheuserstelephonesasdescribedabovemaycausedifficultieswithalarm
calls–ifindoubtseekadvice.
Iftheuserhaselectronicequipmentitshouldbeatleast2metresawayfromtheReachunit.
Failuretoprovidethisseparationmayresultinreducedrangeofpersonalpendantsorotherradiodevices.

AlltelephoneequipmenthasaRingerEquivalenceNumber(REN)whichisusedtocalculatethenumberofitemsthat
canbeconnectedtoasingletelephoneline.
ARENof4isthemaximumallowedonastandardUKtelephoneline‐theReachhasaRENof1.
IftheRENtotalofallequipmentconnectedtoatelephonelineexceeds4theequipmentmaynotoperatecorrectly.
WithdifferenttypesofequipmentthereisnoguaranteeofcorrectoperationeveniftheRENislessthan4.
Typically1or2standardtelephones(REN1)canbeusedwiththeReach.
WheninstallingaReachunitensureallradiotriggerdevicesincludingthosethatmayhavebeenpreviously
installede.g.smokedetectors,PIR'setc.areregisteredwiththeReachunit.
OncecompleteatestcallshouldberaisedfromeachtriggerdevicetotheAlarmReceivingCentretoensureitis
receivedandthetriggerdeviceiscorrectlyidentified.
Avoidusingharsh,abrasiveorcorrosivecleaningagentsordetergents(e.g.scouringpowders,bleaches,polishes,etc.)
whencleaningtheReachorTouchPendant.
YoucandusttheReachorTouchPendantwithasoftclothorsoftbrush.Forparticularlysoiledunitswipecleanwitha
dampclothandanon‐abrasivecleaningproduct,polishwithadryduster.
DONOTuseawetclothontheReachunit.
TheReachunitincludesdelicateelectronics–toallowwatertocomeintocontactwithitisdangerousandmaycause
damage.Iftheunitdoesgetwet;un‐plugitfromthemainssupplyandswitchoffimmediately,thencontactyour
ServiceProviderbeforeattemptingtore‐useit.
TheReachandTouchPendantbothcontainbatteriesandshouldthereforenotbedisposedofindomesticwaste.

TheTouchpendantiswaterproofbutitshouldnotbefullysubmergedforprolongedperiods.
TheTouchpendantisalifesavingdevice;remembertoadvisetheusertowearitatalltimesandtokeep
itbytheirbedatnight.
TheTouchpendantissuppliedwithakitofpartssoitcanbewornaroundtheneck,clippedontoabelt
orpocket,oronthewristlikeawatch.
Firstfitthechosenwearingoptiontotheblack
rubberbootthenpushtheTouchpendant
insidethebootwiththesilverbuttonaccessible.
SnaptheNeckCordapartatthesafety‐breakdevice
andfeedthroughthe2holesintherubberboot
thenclickthesafety‐breaktogetheragain.
