What solutions do I have for

downloading data?

Many different innovative download solutions by VDO are available for data downloading, all customised for a

wide range of applications. Impressively simple to operate and powerfully efficient, they also possess the ultimate

in data security systems.

To fulfil your legal archiving obligations, you must regularly download the data

from the mass memory of your digital tachographs and driver cards.

Mobile solutions

Downloadkey II

The Downloadkey II is the mobile solution for down-

loading and transferring mass memory and driver card

data. A company card must be inserted in the digital

tachograph during the download procedure (more on

this on Page 3).

Mobile Card Reader

With the Mobile Card Reader you can transfer driver

card data to a Downloadkey II at any time. There is no

need for a company card (more on this on Page 4).

Indoor solutions

Downloadterminal II

The Downloadterminal II is the stand-alone solution

for downloading driver cards and for transferring data

from a Downloadkey II (more on this on Page 6).

Card Reader

With the Card Reader you can download driver cards

in the office and transfer the data directly to the com-

puter (more on this on Page 5).

TIS-Web

Scanner

This scanner digitises analogue tachograph charts and

automatically uploads the results to TIS-Web®.

Downloadkey II (DLK II) –

simple data handling

The VDO Downloadkey II is the ideal transport medium for fleets, work shops

and authorities – it downloads and transfers mass memory data from digital

tachographs and from driver cards inserted in the tachograph.

The DLK II can also be used as an archiving tool for small fleets and owner-drivers. To protect data from

unauthorised access, a company card is required for data download.

Downloadkey Portable Set

The Downloadkey Portable Set consists of a Downloadkey II and a Mobile Card Reader (more on the Mobile

Card Reader on Page 4). This enables drivers to download data from their driver cards without the need for

a company card.

• The serial 6-pin interface is compat-

ible with all digital tachographs and

enables data downloading via the

front interface of the tachograph.

• The USB 2.0 interface enables fast

data transfer to the office computer.

• The DLK II weighs less than 50 g,

is no larger than a mobile telephone

and fits in any shirt pocket.

• The DLK II requires neither a

power supply nor a puffer battery

to retain its data – so you can use

it in vehicles or on your computer

at any time.

• An optical display indicates memory

capacity and download status

for maximum comfort and ease

of handling.

• The memory capacity is sufficient

for around 4,000 quarterly down-

loads.

Downloadkey Portable Set

The Downloadkey Portable Set consists of a Downloadkey II and a Mobile Card Reader (more on the Downloadkey II

on Page 3). This enables drivers to download data from their driver cards without the need for a company card.

The Mobile Card Reader by VDO is a mobile scanner for driver cards –

it enables data to be transferred directly to a Downloadkey II,

or Inspection key

It’s ideal for drivers who cannot return to the company site on a regular basis.

• With the Mobile Card Reader drivers

can directly transfer driver card data

to a Downloadkey II, without the need

for a company card.

• The Mobile Card Reader can be

operated either by battery or by

mains adapter – so you can use

it anywhere and at any time.

Card Reader –

compact and handy

The VDO Card Reader is connected to an office computer by means of a

USB cable. With the TIS software you can download digital driver card data

and store it for archiving and evaluation.

The VDO Card Reader is suitable for all fleet sizes.

Downloadterminal II –

flexible and robust

The Downloadterminal II by VDO offers drivers the option of downloading

and viewing driver card and Downloadkey II data themselves. The Download-

terminal II can be set up anywhere, e. g. in the drivers’ rest room – making it

accessible around the clock.

The VDO Downloadterminal II facilitates the downloading and transport of data, especially for larger fleets.

It simplifies the handling of large amounts of data and is perfect for drivers who have irregular working hours.

• With a mains adapter, the Down-

loadterminal II can be used as a

stand-alone solution, guaranteeing

flexible use – anywhere and at any

time.

• Driver cards are automatically down-

loaded via the integrated chip card

reader. The driver can also view his

data if required.

• Downloadkeys can be automatically

downloaded via a USB interface.

• A 3.5" colour TFT display enables

download data to be viewed and a

basic evaluation to be made (of driver

and vehicle information).

Features of the Downloadterminal II

• The data stored in the Downloadter-

minal II can be easily retrieved and

transferred to the computer at any

time for fleet management purposes.

• The Downloadterminal II data can

either be downloaded via a USB stick

or taken to the office and connected

to the computer there by USB or net-

work cable.

• For data storage, the Download-

terminal II is equipped with a 256 MB

internal memory – enough capacity

for around 1,000 quarterly down-

loads. The memory can also be ex-

panded up to 4 GB with a USB stick.
