1. Introduction
Your Baby Hero wheelchair combines the most advanced state-of-the-art components with modern,
attractive styling. We are sure that the design features and trouble-free operation will add convenience
to your daily living and ensure complete satisfaction.
Your safety is most important to us. Please read and follow all the instructions outlined in this
manual before you attempt to operate your wheelchair for the first time. These instructions were
produced for your benefit. Your understanding of these instructions is essential for safe operation of
your new Hero wheelchair. Manufacturer is not liable for damage to property or personal injury
arising out of the unsafe use of wheelchair. Manufacturer is also not liable for any property damage or
personal injury arising out of the failure of any person and/or user to follow the instructions and
recommendations set forth in this manual or any other instructions or recommendations contained in
other Hero related literature issued by manufacturer.
This manual presents the newest current technology standards and product information. As we
constantly improve technology and our products, you may find some differences between explanations
and illustrations presented in this manual and product you have purchased. However, it does not affect
regular use of your wheelchair. If you have any questions which you can’t answer while using the
wheelchair (safely, or while you think according to the instruction, and/or when the recommendation
of the manual cannot be carried out safely) please, contact your local dealer.
Please, check and read the warranty card carefully. Please, make sure that it has been properly filled in
and stamped. Keep it in case you will have to use it in the future. The warranty card is an integral part
of the product you purchased, if you sell your wheelchair, do not forget to pass it (together with user’s
manual) to the next owner. Always have the user’s manual when you use your wheelchair in case of
any problems. If you are not able to solve the problem or if you are not sure if you can use the
wheelchair safely, please, consult your dealer.

3. Application
Baby Hero Manual standing wheelchair can be used in patients with congenital or acquired paralysis
of the lower limbs, muscular dystrophy, stroke and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. It can be used also
for the prevention of pressure ulcers.
4. Contradictions
Contraindications to a sitting position and upright. Patients with mental disorders should not remain in
the standing wheelchair unattended. During lifting phase observe the reactions of the patient. If you
notice any adverse reactions, eg. turn pale, sweating, fainting should immediately stop verticalization
and return to the starting position.
5. Usage
Baby Hero Manual standing wheelchair thanks to standing option:
•Prevents joint contracture of lower limbs;
•Improves bowel & bladder’s functions;
•Prevents skin abrasions and bedsores arising from long sitting position;
•Prevents osteoporosis – improves calcification, especially of lower limbs;

•Improves self-confidence and reduces the fear of assuming standing position;
•provides body weight support training, prepares the patient to assume standing position by
himself;
•improves cardiopulmonary functions;
•allows to perform every-day activities in standing position which increase sense of personal
independence;
•Increase adaptation ability.
6. Safety of use - WARNING !
a) Not following the instructions of the user's manual may result in personal injury or damage to
the product.
b) Failure to follow the safety instructions in the manual may result in injury.
c) To increase the comfort and safety during using wheelchair, should follow suggestions given
in the instructions.
d) During transport the power cable connected to the battery should be disconnected to protect
the life of the battery. Before using the wheelchair, remove the white cap and plug the battery.

e) Do not modify your wheelchair in any way without manufacturer’s authorization.
Unauthorized modifications may result in personal injury and/or damage to the
product.
f) Be particularly careful when mounting, dismounting, verticalization and folding the lack
of attention may result in finger trap by moving parts.
g) Before the first use of the standing frame is necessary to carefully read the entire
instructions for use.
h) When using the wheelchair for the first time, assistance of other person is necessary.
i) As you begin using your wheelchair during daily activities, you will probably encounter
situations in which you will need some practice. In such situations, take your time and you
will soon be in full and confident control as you manoeuvre through doorways, on and off
elevators, up and down ramps, and over moderate terrain.
j) Transferring onto and off your wheelchair requires good sense of balance. If you start learning
how to get on/off the wheelchair, assistance and help of other person is necessary.
k) If you need to use the positioning belts, make sure they have been property fastened and
adjusted to ensure maximum safety
l) Please, remember that Hero should not be used on public street and road – it can be difficult
for traffic to see you when you are seated on your wheelchair.
m) Never driver down the stairs or escalators.
n) Be careful while driving over doorsteps or other obstacles.

o) Do not bend, lean or reach for objects while sitting on the wheelchair – the wheelchair may tip
which can cause product damage and personal injury.
p) Always protect batteries from freezing. Never charge frozen batteries – it may lead to battery
damage and personal injury.
q) If you take prescribed or over-the-counter medication or if you have certain physical
limitations, please,
r) consult your physician. Some medications and limitations may impair your ability to operate
your wheelchair safely.
s) Never operate your scooter while you are under influence of alcohol, as this may impair your
ability to
t) drive safely.
u) Do not put your overall body weight to the footrests – the wheelchair may tip and cause
personal injury.
v) Hero wheelchair is designed for one person only, you must not carry any passengers!

x) Do not operate your wheelchair when the temperature falls below 0:C , in icy or slippery
conditions or on salted surfaces (i.e., walks or roads). Such use may result in an accident,
personal injury, or adversely affect the performance and safety of your scooter.
y) Do not operate or store your wheelchair in a place where it may be exposed to inclement
weather condition such as rain, snow, mist, and below freezing temperatures. Using the
wheelchair in such conditions can damage the electronics and potentially result in loss of
control. Before using your wheelchair, make sure that the water has dried up.
z) Be aware that the surface temperature of the upholstery and the frame parts may be increased
after exposure to the sun or other heat source. It may cause burns parts of the body.
aa) Do not move wheelchair by stairs. If you have to overcome the stairs you have to be
transported in a different way. Wheelchair must be transported separately.
bb) Do not attempt to lift the standing frame holding it by moving parts or possible to remove,
because it can cause accidents and injuries.
cc) Never use the wheelchair as a seat for the transportation of people in cars, buses or any motor
vehicles.
dd) The wheelchair is designed for people up to 100 kg
ee) Wheelchair must be easy to fold and to unfold. In case of problems with folding, you should
re-read the instruction or contact the manufacturer.
ff) Brakes cannot be slow down the wheelchair during ride, You should use them only to prevent
the unintended movements
gg) Both brakes should be properly adjusted. Incorrect setting one of the brakes, results with
blocking only one rear wheel. On large slopes, it can cause difficulty to control the rotation the
wheelchair around the wheel stopped.
hh) Regularly check the tire pressure. With too low tire pressure than recommended, the brake
performance can be significantly reduced!
ii) All activities, such as getting in, getting off, changing the position of the patient, stop
wheelchair require block the brakes.
jj) Do not leave the patient in the wheelchair (even with turned on both brakes) on the descents,
ramps, landings, etc.
kk) It is necessary to check after each wheel mount if wheel axle connector lock works properly.
While mounting should hear “click” of the latch. Pull strongly the wheel to check if it is
installed correctly.

ll) Using the parking brake while driving may result with an accident with all its consequences.
mm) After each wheelchair adjustment, it is always necessary to check the correct operation
of the brake.
nn) Oil, grease, water or other chemicals, may cause that brakes may have reduced effectiveness.
oo) Strength of the breaking intensity may be reduced after long exploitation of the wheelchair.
You are allowed to adjust breaks yourself. In order to do that you must loosen the screws
locking the position of the break, move the mechanism of the break towards the wheel so that
the wheel will not rotate when break will be on again (try the adjustment with the user sitting
on the wheelchair). After final adjustment secure back the mechanism with the screws.
pp) It is extremely important to keep all wheelchairs components clean in order to maintain the
product parameters.
qq) It is unacceptable to use the wheelchair after discovering any visible or detectable damages or
when the wear of some parts may cause an accident. All the repairs need to be performed by a
skilled personnel and during the warranty period only by the manufacturer's service.
rr) In case of wheelchair fitted with pumped wheels You should not exceed the maximum
permissible inflation pressure of the wheels, the value is indicated on the tire wheels.
ss) During use, handing of the product and during its assembly, regulating mechanisms, it might
happen trapping and / or squeeze user's or caretaker's body part in holes / gaps between the
elements. Perform these steps with extreme caution. After adjustment, stabilize the position by
carefully tightening the nuts / bolts.
RAMPS , OBSTACLES
•Approach the ramp/obstacle slowly.
•Do not drive up/down the incline of angle more than 10º.
•Avoid driving up/down long inclines.
•Do not leave your wheelchair on any incline – no matter whether you seat or stand next to it.
DRIVING OUTDOOR
Baby Hero and Hero wheelchairs have been designed to provide you with maximum comfort of use
and safety when driving in standard conditions – on flat and dry surface.
•Avoid high grass – it may become tangled in the running gear.
•Avoid loosely packed gravel and stand.
•If you feel unsure about a driving surface, avoid that surface.
Please, follow the instruction below if you need to transport the wheelchair between the floors and the
elevator is not available. The user needs to get off the wheelchair.
•Lift the wheelchair (attention! Do not hold its removable parts!)- remember to keep your back
straight and to bend your knees.
•Transfer the Hero up/down the stairs.
•Put the wheelchair only on the flat surface.
Safety belts
Always remember to fasten the thigh and thoracic safety belt immediately after taking a seat in the
wheelchair.

7. Everyday use and maintenance
7.1.Remote control

1. OFF/ON LED light.
2. Press and hold the button to assume standing position.
3. Press and hold the button to return to sitting position.
4. Battery condition meter .
The battery condition meter indicates the battery status. There are
three LED lights:
-Green means fully charged batteries
-Red means that batteries are charged only in 30
% and that you need to charge them
IMMEDIATELY
Red LED light also flashes when the batteries are being charged.
7.2. Headrest adjutment
•In order to adjust the headrest turn the rear button in anticlockwise direction. Choose desired
height and turn the rear button in clockwise direction. (Illustration 8.)

•In order to adjust vertical inclination of headrest, release the screw (see the picture) using
hexagon spanner. Choose the desired angle and fasten the screw tightly. (Illustration 9.)
•Release the butterfly screw of the headrest – choose the desired angle ad fasten the butterfly

7.3.Knee protectors
•Unlock the blockade according to the picture – move the footrest outside. (Illustration 13.)

•If you unlock the blockades on both sides, you will be able to remove the knee protectors.

•Adjust length of heel loop. (Illustration 15.)
•In order to adjust height and depth of knee protectors, release two screws placed on both sides
of the wheelchair. (Illustration 16.)

7.4. Footrest adjustment
•Unfasten the heel loop. (Illustration 17.)

•In order to adjust footrest height, release the screws located at the back of the footrests.

7.5. Armrests and guard rail
There are screws and additional holes which allow you to adjust armrests height. Release the armrests,
choose desired height and fasten the screws tightly. (Illustration 25.)
•In order to lift the armrests, release the screws, choose desired angle and fasten the screws.
Always remember to choose the same height for both armrests. (Illustration 26.)

•Additional guard rail can be installed. (Illustration 27.)
•In order to remove the guard rail, push the switch placed on the rear part of the armrest and

7.6. Backrest
•In order to remove the backrest, release the screws placed at the back of the backrest and pull
up the backrest. (Illustration 32., 33.)

7.7. Wheels
•In order to block the wheels, push the hand brake forward. (Illustration 34.)

7.8. Replacement tires
Before replacing the tires, refer to the following notes.
First, let out the air in the innertube and then by pressing on the tire towards the center of the rim to
loosen contact tire-rim. Using a special tool, pull rant tires outside rim, which will allow to translate
the whole tire on the outside. After this procedure remove the innertube is very natural.
Before installing a new inner tube, please note that:
- tape trousers was not broken and did not have any foreign objects,
- exterior edge wheels were smooth, without foreign objects and other damage.
If necessary, the bottom tape and rim must be cleaned thoroughly.
In order to mount tires, apply the bottom tape with the hole on the valve, and then put in the rim.
Keeping that position, should put bottom tape around the perimeter of the rim paying attention to
whether there has been turning the tape or whether it has been damaged, and well covered tensioners
spokes.
Pulling the tire edge of the rim, insert the valve in the rim slot. Inflate slightly the innertube so that it
obtained a round shape and then put the innertube in rim. To be absolutely sure, check that the
innertube is not twisted (in case of breakdowns or deform slightly inflate the air). By using hand put
the tire edge on the rim starting from the opposite side of the valve and ending at the valve.

Always check both sides of the wheel, do the innertube has not been pressed by the tire and the tires
properly adheres to the rim. The valve must gently push inward, and then squeeze outside in order to
well-settled in the slot.
To check the correctness mounting the tires, should inflate enough air to be able to press a thumb to
the rim . Then check the tire adheres equally on both sides of the rim and whether it is centrally
placed. When there defect should, let out the air from the wheel and improve innertube. When the
innertube is placed properly, should inflate the tire to maximum pressure and screw the cap on the tip
of the valve.
WARNING !
•when using the wrong tools or the wrong steps can lead to serious damage to wheels and tires;
•in case of application of the plastic rim does not apply the bottom tape ;
•pay attention in order to during the installation between the rim and the botton tape does not
allow any foreign objects that may damage the component or hurt hand
•Observe proper level of tire inflation in accordance with the values provided by the
manufacturer on the tire edge;
•should use a pump with a pressure gauge or manual pump.
7.9. Batery charging.
•Place the wheelchair close to a standard electric al outlet.
•Check if all the wires are connected properly.
•The colour of LED light of battery condition meter will change from yellow to green when the
batteries are fully charged.
WARNING !
•Do not expose the wheelchair and battery to high temperature and sources of fire, especially
while charging the batteries. Not following this rule may lead to ignition and explosion.
•Always charge the batteries in a well ventilated place.
•Never touch the charger , batteries with wet hands or other objects. Keep the charger, wires
and batteries away from water, rain or damp conditions. Not following the above rules may
cause electric shock.
•Always charge the batteries in min 0: and max 40: temperature. Not following this rule may
lead to battery damage.
•Do not interrupt charging till the battery condition meter lights green.
•If the battery condition meter does not light, disconnect the wires for 10 min and try to
connect them again. If it does not help, consult the dealer.
•If you charge the batteries for more than 12 hours but the battery condition meter is still
yellow, please, contact the dealer.

7.10. Problem solving

•No voltage indication when power is on. Check the wires connection.
•Open the black cover placed at the back of the frame.
•Disconnect the plug and connect them to the socket to start charging.
•The LED light of control panel will flash during charging. The green colour indicates that
charging has been completed and the batteries are charged, orange colour- batteries are
charged in 50 %, red colour – batteries are charged in 30 %.
7.11. Batteries
•The wheelchair is equipped with deep-cycle batteries which are sealed and maintenance free.
•Please, remember that some situations require more energy (e.g. going up the incline,
overloading, difficult weather conditions).
•In order to protect the batteries and make them work longer, please, follow the rules below:
-Do not allow the batteries to discharge completely. Always charge the batteries after daily use.
-While charging the batteries for the first time, disconnect the plug after 40 hours, when the
batteries are fully charged.
-If you do not use the wheelchair regularly, charge the batteries every three days.
WARNING !
•Never remove the caps from sealed batteries.
•The battery acid may cause blindness or burns. If the battery acid contact eyes, skin, clothes or
any other object which has contact with skin, rinse with water as soon as possible and consult
your doctor.
•Always use only Hero batteries –using other batteries may lead to wheelchair damage.
•Always make sure that the wheelchair and batteries are properly protected.
•Please, remember that the batteries will degenerate and the distance range will decrease after
some time. If you notice that your batteries are less efficient, you should replace them with
new one.
•Please, remember that for optimal effect, you should replace both batteries at the same time.

WARNING !
•Please, remember that incorrect connection may damage the batteries.
•If the batteries were expose to low temperatures (if the battery is frozen), do not try to charge
them!
•Cold or frozen batteries should be kept for couple of days in room temperature in order to
warm them up and charge.
7.12. Transport
In particular, attention should be paid to:
•Manual standing wheelchair should be transported without the user. Manual standing
wheelchair is not intended as an additional seat in the transport vehicle.
•Straps should be fastened to the strengths and permanent elements of the vehicle;
•Manual standing wheelchair should be fasten only for the frame;
•After fastened, the manual standing wheelchair, should not move in any direction :
•During transport manual standing wheelchair the brakes should be activated;
7.13. Maintenance
If you follow the maintenance rules outlined in this section, you can help to ensure that your
wheelchair will give you years of trouble-free operation. If you have any doubt as to your
wheelchair care or operation, contact the local dealer.
ANNUAL MAINTENANCE
Annual maintenance will help you to check if the wheelchair is in good condition and if it works
properly. It will also help to prevent any possible complications which may arise from any
malfunctions.
The annual maintenance should include:
•Checking the tires.
•Checking the batteries and all connections.
•Checking if the VSI control panel works correctly.
•Checking the frame.
•Checking the upholstery.
WARNING !
•Protect the VSI control panel against shocks and blows.
•Do not expose the wheelchair to high/low temperatures and humidity.
•Keep the VSI control panel clean.
•Protect your wheelchair against contact with water.
•Keep the frame and upholstery clean. Clean them with soft, dry cloth, never use any
abrasive. Do not use any detergents directly to VSI control panel, batteries or
electrical parts.
•Grease the wheels every three months.
•Use only the batteries provided with the wheelchair. If you want to replace them,
contact the dealer.

•Charge the batteries regularly. Always make sure that the charger is properly pluged
into the socket. Never unplug the charger by pulling the wire.
•Check all the wires. If you notice any damage, secure it immediately.
•Store the wheelchair in a dry place, humidity may damage the frame and electronic al
system.
Usage period - 5 years since production date
EVERYDAY USE AND MAINTANCE
•Clean the upholstery and frame with a moist cloth, without the addition of detergents and
other similar chemicals.
•Systematically remove the dirt from the movable elements of the wheelchair (screws,
resistance mechanisms).
•Keep clean all wheelchair elements for to save functional parameters of the product. Storing in
rooms of very high humidity (baths, laundries etc.) or in the open air, in the combination with
the lack of hygiene will cause the fast loss of functional and aesthetic parameters.
You must not use:
•solvents,
•toilet detergents,
•sharp brushes and hard objects,
•detergents that contain chlorine,
•corrosive detergents,
•Do not clean the exerciser with pressure or steam aggregates!
