CAM LOCK SYSTEM OPERATION
HOW THE KNOCK DOWN (KD) ASSEMBLY SYSTEM WORKS
1. Screw the Cam Bolt into the threaded inserts on the panel. Connect both panels together; making sure Cam
Bolt goes into the pre-drilled hole on the end of panel for Cam Lock.
2. Insert the Cam Lock into the pre-drilled large hole on the panel. Make sure the arrow on the face of Cam
Lock faces out and points towards Cam Bolt.
3. Take a Phillips screwdriver and rotate the Cam Lock clockwise to lock the Cam Bolt in place.
You are now ready to assemble the KD unit.

DIRECTIONS IN ORDER ON THIS INSTRUCTIONS), TO PROVIDE PROTECTION
AGAINST THE UNEXPECTED TIPPING OF FURNITURE DUE TO IMPROPER
USE.
THIS PRODUCT IS ONLY A DETERRENT. IT IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR
PROPER ADULT SUPERVISION. USE OF TIP-OVER RESTRAINTS MAY ONLY
REDUCE, BUT NOT ELIMINATE, THE RISK OF TIP-OVER.

To reduce the risk of furniture tipover:
 ALWAYS install tipover restraint provided.

Use of tip-over restraints may only reduce,

DRAWER INSTALLATION
If you need to remove the drawers with ball bearing slides from the unit, please follow the steps
below to prevent any damage to the slides or the drawers.
1. If you need to remove the drawer, please pull the drawer all the way out, then simultaneously
pushes the plastic release lever of the ball bearing slide up on one side and down on the other
side, and then pull the drawer completely out.
2. To place the drawer back, simply push the ball bearing cart all the way to the end of the slides
(in both sides) and align the slide runners on the drawer with the slide tracks on the unit and
push it carefully inside until it stops.
NOTE: If the drawer does not go in smoothly, please take it out and repeat the step.

Assembly Instructions
NOTE: Please do not fully tighten all bolts until you finish assembling all parts. Once assembled, go
back and fully tighten all bolts. This will make the assembly easier.
1. Unpack the unit and confirm that you have all the hardware and required parts. Assemble the unit on
a carpeted floor or the empty carton to avoid any scratch.
2. Place the Desk Top (A) upside down on a level and protected surface.
3. Securely screw the Cam Bolts (2) into the designated small holes on the Desk Top (A) with a Phillips
screwdriver. DO NOT overtighten the Cam Bolts.
NOTE: Screw-in cam bolts must be screwed down flush.
4. Securely screw the Cam Bolts (3) into the threaded holes on the Side Frames (C and D) with a Phillips
screwdriver.

5. Align and attach the Modesty Panel (B) to the Right Side Frame (D) by engaging two Cam Locks (1).
(Refer to page 3 on Cam Lock system operation supplement).
6. Align and attach the Top Front Stretcher (E) to the Right Side Frame (D) using two 15 mm Bolts (4) and
two Washers (6 and 7).

7. Repeat the same procedure to attach the Left Side Frame (C) at the opposite end.
8. Using the cam bolts as a guide, align and attach the previous assembly to the Desk Top (A) by engaging
three Cam Locks (1).
9. Fasten the assembled Top Front Stretcher (E) and Side Frames (C and D) to the Desk Top (A) with six
32 mm Bolts (5) and six Washers (6 and 7).

Tools required (not provided): Phillips screwdriver, stud finder, tape measure, pencil, power drill and 1/8”
drill bit.
10. With the assistance of another adult, lift the assembled unit upright and position at the desired location
against a wall. If necessary, adjust the floor levelers by hand to correct the tilting.
11. Now, follow the instructions printed on the plastic bag containing the Tipping Restraint Hardware to
attach the tip-over restraints to the unit and the wall.
NOTE: The tipping restraint hardware included is for wooden stud wall construction. It must be attached
to a wall stud. Depending upon your wall construction, different anchor hardware maybe required. Please
contact your local hardware store for assistance. Young children can be seriously injured by tipping
furniture. You must install the tipping restraint hardware with the unit to prevent the unit from tipping,
causing any accidents or damage. The tipping restraints are intended only as a deterrent, they are not a
substitute for proper adult supervision. The tipping restraints are not earthquake restraints. If you wish to
add the extra security of earthquake restraints, they must be purchased and installed separately.

Care and Maintenance
 Use a soft, clean cloth that will not scratch the surface when dusting.
 Use of furniture polish is not necessary. Should you choose to use polish, test first in an inconspicuous
area.
 Using solvents of any kind on your furniture may damage the finish.
 Never use water to clean your furniture as it may cause damage to the finish.
 Always use coasters under beverage glasses and flowerpots.
 Liquid spills should be removed immediately. Using a soft, clean cloth, blot the spill gently. Avoid
rubbing.
 Always use protective pads under hot dishes and plates. Heat can cause chemical changes that may create
spotting within the furniture finish.
 In the event that your furniture is stained or otherwise damaged during use, we recommend that you call a
professional to repair your furniture.
 Check bolts/screws periodically and tighten them if necessary.
Further advice about wood furniture care
It is best to keep your furniture in a climate-controlled environment. Extreme temperature and humidity
changes can cause fading, warping, shrinking and splitting of wood. It is advised to keep furniture away from
direct sunlight as sun may damage the finish.
Proper care and cleaning at home will extend the life of your purchase. Following these important and helpful
tips will enhance your furniture as it ages.

1. Visser un boulon à came dans les petits trous déjà percés sur le panneau. Connecter les deux panneaux en
s’assurant que le boulon à came s’insère dans le trou déjà percé à l’extrémité du panneau avec la came.
2. Insérer une came dans le grand trou déjà percé sur le panneau. S’assurer que la flèche sur la came soit
orientée vers le boulon à came.
3. Une fois le boulon à came connecté dans la came, serrer la came dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre
avec un tournevis à pointe cruciforme.
L’unité est prête pour le montage.

INSTALLATION DU TIROIR
Si vous devez retirer les tiroirs à glissières à billes de l'unité, veuillez suivre les étapes ci-dessous
afin d'éviter tout dommage aux glissières ou aux tiroirs.
1. Si vous devez retirer le tiroir, veuillez le tirer complètement, puis poussez simultanément le
levier de déblocage en plastique de la glissière à billes vers le haut d'un côté et vers le bas de
l'autre, puis tirez le tiroir complètement.
2. Pour remettre le tiroir en place, il suffit de pousser le chariot à roulements à billes jusqu'à
l'extrémité des glissières (des deux côtés) et d'aligner les glissières du tiroir avec les rails de
l'appareil et de le pousser avec précaution à l'intérieur jusqu'à ce qu'il s'arrête.
REMARQUE: Si le tiroir n'entre pas en douceur, veuillez le sortir et répéter l'opération.

Instructions de montage
REMARQUE: Veuillez ne pas complètement serrer les boulons avant d’avoir fini le montage de toutes les
pièces. Une fois assemblées, revenez en arrière et serrez tous les boulons. Cela facilitera l’assemblage.
1. Déballez l'unité et assurez-vous d'avoir en mains toute la quincaillerie et toutes les pièces requises.
Assemblez l'unité sur un tapis ou une boîte vide pour éviter de l'égratigner.
2. Placez le Bureau (A) à l'envers sur une surface plane et protégée.
3. Visser fermement les Boulons à came (2) dans les petits trous prévus à cet effet sur le Bureau (A) à
l'aide d'un tournevis cruciforme. NE PAS trop serrer les Boulons à came.
REMARQUE : Les boulons à came doivent être vises au ras des panneaux.
4. Visser solidement les Boulons à came (3) dans les trous filetés des Cadres latéraux (C et D) à l'aide
d'un tournevis cruciforme.

5. Aligner et fixer le Panneau de modestie (B) sur le Cadre latéral droit (D) en engageant deux Verrous à
came (1). (Voir la page 3 sur le supplément de fonctionnement du Système de verrouillage à came).
6. Alignez et fixez le Brancard supérieur avant (E) au Cadre latéral droit (D) à l'aide de deux Boulons (4)
de 15 mm et de deux Rondelles (6 et 7).
