2.1 Intended use
ThemodelT32.xStemperaturetransmitterisauniversaltransmitter,
congurableviaHART®protocol,forusewithresistancethermo-
meters(RTD),thermocouples(TC),resistanceandvoltagesources
aswellaspotentiometers.
Theinstrumenthasbeendesignedandbuiltsolelyfortheintended
usedescribedhere,andmayonlybeusedaccordingly.

Thetechnicalspecicationscontainedintheseoperatinginstructions
mustbeobserved.Improperhandlingoroperationoftheinstrument
outsideofitstechnicalspecicationsrequirestheinstrumenttobe
takenoutofserviceimmediatelyandinspectedbyanauthorised
WIKAserviceengineer.
Iftheinstrumentistransportedfromacoldintoawarmenvironment,
theformationofcondensationmayresultintheinstrument
malfunction.Beforeputtingitbackintooperation,waitforthe
instrumenttemperatureandtheroomtemperaturetoequalise.
Themanufacturershallnotbeliableforclaimsofanytypebasedon
operationcontrarytotheintendeduse.
2.2 Personnel qualication

bemountedonameasuringinsertwithinaFormB,DINconnection

Mounting on the measuring insert
Mountthetransmitteronthecircularplateofthemeasuringinsert
usingtwocountersunkM3screwsperENISO2009.Appropriate
threadedinsertshavebeenpress-ttedintheundersideofthecase.
Assumingthecountersinkingiscarriedoutcorrectly,thepermissible
screwlengthcanbecalculatedasfollows:
Checkthescrewlengthbeforexingthetransmittertothemeasuring
insert:insertthescrewintothecircularplateandverifylengthof4mm!
CAUTION!
Donotexceedthemaximumpermissiblescrewlength!
Thetransmitterwillbedamagedifthescrewsarescrewed
furtherthan4mmintothebottomofthetransmitter.

chararcteristiccurve).Furthermore,alineartransformationofthe
processvalueispossibleusinga2-pointcorrection.
Userlinearisation:
Viasoftware,customer-specicsensorcharacteristicscanbestored
inthetransmitterinordertodeneothersensortypes.Numberof
auxiliarypoints:min.2;max.30.Ifmorethan2sensorsareconnected
(dualsensorfunction)furthercongurationscanbecarriedout.With
thedualsensorfunction,twoidenticalsensors(resistancesensoror
thermocouple)withthesamemeasuringrangeareconnectedand
thenprocessedtogether.
Thetransmittersaredeliveredwithabasicconguration(seedata
sheetTE32.04)orconguredaccordingtocustomerspecications.
Ifthecongurationischangedafterwards,themodicationsmustbe
notedonthelabelusingawater-resistantfelt-tippen.
Asimulationoftheinputvalueisnotrequiredtocongure
theT32.
Asensorsimulationisonlyrequiredforthefunctionaltest.
