Overview
Greenwood’s OF100GIP is an intermittent or ontinuously running extra t fan,
designed to offer a simplisti approa h to meet Building Regulations and provide
an energy effi ient domesti ventilation solution to improve indoor air quality in
dwellings.
The on ept revolves around ‘one produ t’, whi h has been designed to be
flexible in appli ation (wall, window and eiling – 230V / SELV installations) and
to meet the performan e requirements of all ‘wet’ rooms within a dwelling.
Please refer to se tion 4.0 for how the OF100GIP an be installed. The
OF100GIP features new SMART te hnology (fully automati integral delay /
over-run timer (or run-on timer via pull ord) and humidity fun tions) whi h
monitor the homeowners’ environment.
Greenwood TimerSMARTTM monitors the length of time that there is an
o upan y presen e within a wet room (via the ‘Swit h Live’) and provides a
fixed over-run time period to best mat h the length of time that the ‘Swit h Live’
is a tive (as shown in the table below). This removes nuisan e running noise and
unne essary energy wastage typi ally asso iated with traditional timers.
Note: The first 5 minutes will not a tivate an over-run.
Note: When the OF100GIP is operated by the pull ord only and has been
ommissioned as a timer, the OF100GIP will operate as follows:
• Continuous mode: Boost for 15 minutes then automati ally return to
tri kle. Manual override available by re-pulling the pull ord.
• Intermittent mode: Turn on for 15 minutes then automati ally turn off.
Manual override available by re-pulling the pull ord.

Greenwood HumidiSMARTTM monitors the ambient humidity within the wet room
environment and looks for short peaks of humidity made by either ooking,
showering or bathing. This smart te hnology ensures that your OF100GIP is only
running when required, removing nuisan e running noise and unne essary
energy wastage typi ally asso iated with in reases to ba kground humidity
whi h naturally o urs with the hanging seasons.
If your fan has been ommissioned in “ ontinuous mode”, a boost speed
fa ility is provided to in rease the ventilation rate during peak times, helping
to provide a omfortable indoor environment. This an be a tivated via the
following methods:
• Integral pull ord
• A ‘Swit h Live’ light swit h (see se tion - 2.6 Ele tri al)
• An alternative boost swit h (not supplied) - (see se tion - 2.7 Ele tri al)
If your fan has been ommissioned in “intermittent mode”, the fan an be
manually a tivated by either the pull ord or via the swit h live.
Note: If required, the pull ord an be removed within wall/window installations,
however the pullcord must be removed within ceiling installations.

Where an open-flued oil or gas-fuelled applian e is installed, pre autions must be
taken to avoid a ba k-flow of gases into the room.
When installing wall mounted fans, ensure that there are no buried ables or pipes
in the way. It is re ommended that this fan is mounted >1.8m above floor level.
The fan should not be sited where it would be subje t to a dire t sour e of heat in
ex ess of 40°C.
Observe appropriate safety pre autions if working on steps or ladders. Wear eye
prote tion when breaking out wall or window materials, et .
Always isolate fan from mains supply before leaning. Do not use solvents to
lean this fan.
Cleaning and user maintenan e shall not be made by hildren without supervision.
To disassemble the unit, dis onne t from mains supply and use a s rewdriver to
segregate the ele troni omponents and motor from the plasti housing.
Dispose items in a ordan e with WEEE.
WEEE Statement
This produ t may not be treated as household waste. Instead it should be handed
to an appropriate olle tion point for the re y ling of ele tri al and Ele troni
equipment.

General reparation
The OF100GIP fan has been supplied ready for installation, onsisting of three
main omponent se tions:
Note: The grille assembly has been designed to retain and hold the s rews and
are already in position for final fixing to ba k plate.
Note: The ba k plate must be se ured using all four fixing points.
(see Se tion 2.2.2).

The OF100GIP fan is supplied with a 100mm nominal spigot for onne tion of
du ts for installation.
100mm diameter rigid du t should be used to provide the best performan e
levels required for omplian e with Building Regulations. Te hni al Servi es an
be onta ted on [phone] should you have any questions in
respe t of this.
Installation of the unit should be in a ordan e with the urrent editions of
Building Regulations and BS7671: IEE Wiring Regulations.
Ele tri al installation must only be arried out by a qualified Ele tri ian.

The OF100GIP an be installed on a wall, window or eiling – in either lo ation it
an be rotated through a 90° angle to a ommodate differing installation
requirements.

Ducting Guidelines
A 100mm nominal diameter spigot is provided for onne tion to du ting.
Du twork should be se urely onne ted to fan spigot. Failure to do this will
ause unne essary air leakage and may impair performan e.
All du t onne tions require sealing. Where du ts are installed against a solid
stru ture this an be diffi ult to a hieve. In su h lo ations preassembly of du t
ensure the seal is maintained during installation.
If appli able, Fire dampers MUST BE FITTED in a ordan e with Part B of the
Building Regulations.
Rigid Ducting - Install using the least number of fittings to minimise resistan e to
airflow. Where a ess to du ts will not be possible after onstru tion is omplete,
i.e. within floor and wall voids, onsideration should be given to permanent
onne tion and sealing with an appropriate non-hardening sealant, and not using
du t tape to a hieve onne tion and sealing.

The Flexible Ducting - Ensure du ting lengths are kept to a minimum and du ting
is pulled taut so that it is smooth and straight. Where bends are ne essary, and
where du ting is run in restri ted areas, ensure the du ting is not rushed.
Conne tion of lengths of flexible du t must use a rigid onne tor and jubilee lips
or similar to ensure a long term seal is a hieved. Conne tion of lengths of flexible
du t should not be taped-only.
The fan exhaust must terminate to external air and be prote ted by a suitable wall
or roof terminal. Roof terminal to have a minimum equivalent free area of
10,000mm2.
Electrical
WARNING: All wiring must conform to BS7671: IEE Wiring Regulations.
WARNING: The appliance must be isolated from the mains supply before
removing the electronics cover.
The installation must be arried out by a qualified ele tri ian.
The Unity OF100GIP is suitable for:
• 220-240V ~ 50Hz single phase supply fused at 3A.
• SELV 24VDC – by using the SELV over and removable mains power supply.
A double-pole swit h having a minimum onta t separation of 3mm must be used
to provide isolation for the unit.
The re ommended alternative ‘Swit h Live’ swit h for use when ommissioned
into ontinuous mode is the GS2 swit h.

Surface Mount Wiring
• If surfa e mounted able is used the orresponding kno k outs on both the
Grille Assembly and the Ba k Plate need to be removed to allow able to
enter the produ t.
• On e able kno k outs are removed ensure that the edges of the kno k
outs are dressed so that the external able insulation is not damaged by
any sharp edges.
• Cable an now be inserted through the kno k out and lamped using the
able lamps provided.

Conversion to SELV
The installation must be arried out by a qualified ele tri ian.
A double-pole swit h having a minimum onta t separation of 3mm must be used
to provide isolation for the unit.
The re ommended alternative ‘swit h-live’ swit h for use is the GS2 swit h
(see se tion 2.6.6). (Not to be used when produ t is ommissioned in intermittent
mode).
The fan must not be mounted above or loser than 1m to the ooker where it
ould be affe ted by ex essive heat or moisture.
Wiring Details SELV 24V DC Model
• Un lip ables from the onne tor on the Power Supply.
• Uns rew the two s rews holding the SELV Ba k Plate to the OF100GIP.
• On e the SELV Ba k Plate and Power Supply has been removed the ables
that have been un lipped need to be do ked into the designated do king point
on the Ba k Plate (A).
SELV Box Installation
• Install SELV Ba k Plate and Power Supply in a suitable lo ation outside of the
splash zones, preferably outside the room where the OF100GIP fan is installed.
The lo ation should be as su h that air an ir ulate around the Power Supply
unit and it should never be overed.
• The distan e between the fan and the SELV Ba k Plate and Power Supply
should be kept to a minimum and ideally not be greater than 3.0m.
• Strip able to orre t lengths as shown in Figure 2.a (se tion 2.6.9) for
both fan and SELV Ba k Plate.

• Insert mains able (A) and lamp using able lamp provided (B).
• Push the wires into the terminal blo k (C) as per the wiring diagram (see
se tion 2.7.6). Tighten the terminal blo k s rews and ensure a good onne tion.
• Insert low voltage able through able entry point (D) and then se ure
able using the able lamp (E).
• Push the wires into the terminal blo k (F) as per the wiring diagram (see

ensure that they are dressed and that all sharp edges are removed to

3.0 On Site Commissioning / Set Up

This se tion overs set up, onfiguration of the unit for installation (either intermittent or
ontinuous running) and altering pre-set fa tory settings.
The ontrol panel an be a essed by inserting a large flat bladed s rewdriver into the slot
lo ated on the side of the OF100GIP and eased out, are should be taken while doing this to
ensure the slot area is not damaged.
On first power up, all LED’s should flash in sequen e and then both Bathroom and Kit hen Room
sele tion button lights should start to flash to indi ate that an appropriate installation setting
needs to be sele ted.
To enter the ommissioning mode press and hold [-/+] buttons simultaneously for approximately 3 se onds until the Bathroom & Kit hen
lights flash simultaneously - airflow settings from previous ommissioning should be re alled, these settings an now be re-adjusted.
Note: To ‘fa tory reset’ press and hold [-/+] buttons simultaneously for approximately 10 se onds until all lights flash to indi ate the fan
has been reset to fa tory settings and then revert to both room sele tion lights at start of ommissioning mode.

The OF100GIP ontains a unique ba kward urved mixed flow impellor that has
been designed to redu e any build up of dirt. The fan motor has sealed for life
bearings, whi h do not require lubri ation.
Periodi leaning of the fan’s front over and asing an be arried out using a
soft damp loth. Care must be taken when wiping around the ontrol panel. Do
not use solvents to lean this fan.
Please note that your stored fan settings will not be lost during any interruptions
to your fan’s power supply.
