The following symbols point to dangers involved in the use of the device and
provide practical instructions.

This symbol in connection with the signal word "Warning" indicates a
dangerous situation which could lead to immediate death or to serious
injury.

This symbol indicates a possibly damaging situation for the product.

2.2 Intended use
The ABB-free@homeTouch 7" (DP7-S-6xx) is an integral part of the ABB
Welcome door communication system and operates exclusively with
components from this system, can be used as control panel in ABB-
free@home system (should be configured via SysAP beforehand).
The device is intended for the following:
»operation according to the listed technical data,
»installation in dry interior rooms,
»use with the connecting options available on the device.
The intended use also includes adherence to all specifications in this manual.

2.3 Improper use
Each use not listed in chapter 2.2 is deemed contrary to intended use and can
lead to the injury of persons and damage to property.
Busch-Jaeger is not liable for damages caused by use deemed contrary to the
intended use of the device. The associated risk is borne exclusively by the
user/operator.
The device is not intended for the following:
»unauthorized structural changes,
»repairs,
»use outdoors or in bathroom areas,
»use with an additional bus coupler.
2.4 Target group / qualification of personnel
Installation, commissioning and maintenance of the device must only be
carried out by trained and properly qualified electrical installers.
The electrical installers must have read and understood the manual and follow
the instructions provided.
The electrical installers must adhere to the valid national regulations in their
country governing the installation, functional test, repair and maintenance of
electrical products.
The electrical installers must be familiar with and correctly apply the "Five
safety regulations" (DIN VDE 0105, EN 50110):
1. Disconnect from power
2. Secure against being re-connected;
3. Ensure there is no voltage;
4. Connect to earth and short-circuit;
5. Cover or barricade adjacent live parts.
2.5 Safety instructions
Warning
Dangerous currents flow through the body when coming into direct or
indirect contact with live components.
This can result in electric shock, burns or even death.
»Disconnect the mains power supply prior to installation and/or
disassembly!
»Permit work on the 110-240 V supply system to be performed by

»Never use the device with damaged connecting cables.
»Do not open covers firmly bolted to the housing of the device.
»Use the device only in a technically faultless state.
»Do not make changes to or perform repairs on the device, on its

Attention - damage to property
Risk of damaging the device due to external factors.
Moisture and contamination can damage or destroy the device.
»Protect the device against humidity, dirt and damage during
transport, storage and operation.
3Information on protection of the environment
All packaging materials and devices bear the markings and test seals for
proper disposal.
The products meet the legal requirements, in particular the laws governing
electronic and electrical devices and the REACH ordinance (EU Directive
2002/96/EG WEEE and 2002/95/EG RoHS), (EU-REACH Directive and Law for
the Execution of the Directive (EG) No.1907/2006).
The device contains valuable raw materials which can be recycled. Used
electric and electronic devices must not be disposed of with domestic
waste.
»Always dispose of the packaging material and electric devices and
their components via the authorized collecting depots and disposal
companies.

4Product description

The ABB-free@home®Touch 7" serves as indoor video station for the ABB-Welcome door
communication system and for the central control of free@home functions, such as
moving blinds, switching scenes, or controlling room temperature controllers (as extension
unit).
The product is part of the ABB Welcome door communication system and operates
exclusively with the components of this system.
The panel is connected to both bus systems, the free@home bus and the Welcome bus.
The audio/video signals are transmitted and the device is supplied with power exclusively
via the Welcome bus. The panel can therefore also be used as a pure video indoor station
without a connection to the free@home system.
It is not possible to operate the panel without being connected to the Welcome bus. This
means that at least one ABB-Welcome system controller or one additional power supply is
to be provided to ensure that the panel is supplied with power.
Up to 16 free@home functions can be positioned on the free@home operating page. The
room temperature controller function occupies two function positions.
Programming is carried out via the user interface of the System Access Point.
In addition, the panel acts as gateway which mutually compiles the telegrams of the two
bus systems. This, for example, makes it possible to switch an actuator in the
free@home system during an incoming door call of the ABB-Welcome system, or to use
a sensor in the free@home system to send an "Open door" command to the ABB-
Welcome system.

Each of these functions appears as separate entry in the "Allocation" area. The functions
can be positioned on the floor plan and then, like any other sensor or actuator, connected
in the "Linking" area with other sensors and actuators.
The "Door call" function offers 4 linking functions for each of the 4 possible Welcome
outdoor stations.This allows specific actions to be configured separately for each entrance
of the house. These are triggered as soon as the visitor rings the bell at one of the outdoor
stations.
The "Door opener" function offers 5 connecting functions: Either one of the 4 possible
door openers of the Welcome system can be specifically activated (to a open a specific
door with the one sensor), or a door opener can be defined which dynamically opens the
door from which a door call is currently being made (all doors can be opened with only
one sensor, wherever the bell is being rung from).

2A While a call is coming, press this button to activate the communication
within 30 seconds and press it again to end the call.
2B In standby mode, press this button to set up the voice and video
connections to the default outdoor station.
3Unlock button
3A Press this button to open the door at any time.
3B Auto-unlock: the door is automatically opened after an incoming call.
If the LED lights up, this indicates auto-unlock.
If the LED flashes rapidly, it means the door is open over the set time (The
sensor must be connected first).
4Mute button
4A In standby mode, press this button to mute the ringtone for this indoor
station.
4B In standby mode, hold this button to mute the ringtone for all indoor
stations in the apartment.
4C While a call is coming, press this button to reject the call.
4D During the conversation, press this button to mute the microphone.
If the LED lights up ,this indicates a mute status.
5Programmable button
5A Release the lock connected with OS (COM-NC-NO) (default function)
5B *Programmable for additional functions, e.g. call to guard unit,
intercom.....
6Surveillance button
6A In standby mode, press this button to surveil the default outdoor station.
6B When video is on the screen, press this button to snapshot manually.
7System setting button
Enter the system settings menu for various functions of the device.

5Mute function
- Icons "crossed-out handset" and "crossed-out bell" indicate the mute
status of the microphone or the loudspeaker of the panel.
