Before weighing
Your ADE scale is a quality product. Before weighing please read this manual thoroughly and strictly
follow the instruction. Keep it properly for future use.
Safety Guide
For utmost performance and precise measurement, please follow carefully operation and
maintenance instructions herein mentioned.
Do NOT o erload the scale. This will damage the load cell and automatically in alidate the warranty.
Do NOT keep any load on the scale for longer than necessary. This will decrease the scale’s accuracy
and shorten the load cell’s lifetime.
Before using the scale make shackle and hook are connected properly.
Once the power supply is running low please change batteries.
Do NOT use the scale under weather conditions which may influence the weight results by electronic
interference.
Do NOT open the scale. In case of any default contact your local representati e.
Make sure no water or cleaning fluid is penetrating the scale.

Getting started
Insert batteries
Open the battery compartment on the backside of the scale by sliding the lid aside.
Insert 3 x AA Batteries respecting the pole markings.
Shut the battery compartment carefully and make sure it is completely closed.
In case display shows ‘LO’ batteries are flat and need to be replaced.
Installation of scale to a suitable person lifter
Insert the shackle link into the upper the S-hook into the lower suspension of the scale.
Remo e the suspension yoke of the person lifter and replace this by using the upper suspension
eye of the scale to combine lifting arm and scale.
Slide the suspension respecti ely the carrying equipment of the person lifter carefully into the S-
hook.
Weighing
To achie e a reliable result make sure the scale in always in ertical position. The S-hook must not yet
be loaded by any weight. Press the ON key to start the scale. After a short function test the display
becomes stable, the scale has found its zero point and shows ‘0.00’ kg.

Loading the scale
Place the carrying equipment of the person lifter carefully on the S-hook.
Place the person in the carrying equipment (belt, weighing blanket or other) and make sure the person
is safely secured.
Tare function
Always use the Tare function if you are weighing the person together with other objects (carrying
equipment or other).
First weight the object. After the weight has been displayed press the Tare key. The display will go
back to zero ‘0.00’. Place the person into the carrying equipment like explained abo e.
The display is showing the net weight of the person.
HOLD-Function
By pressing the HOLD key the display will be frozen, e en if the weight alue will change meanwhile.
Keys and Functions
Power On
Press for 1 second for startup, battery tests
and self-calibration.
Display shows self-calibration message during loading
and automatic zeroing.
Power Off
Press for 1 second to power off scale.
Display shows power-off message.

Tare function
Press to store selected tare alue.
The “TARE” sign appears and indicated weight turns
into zero.
Weight result exceeding the total capacity or is below
zero, tare function is not working.
In case of unstable weight indication tare function is
inacti e.
Taring will reduce scale’s o erload range. Example: A
10kg weight should be tared and scale’s maximum
capacity is 50kg, scale will be o erloaded at 40.18kg
(5000 – 1000 + additional 9 di isions).
Press to restore tare.
“TARE” hides, and initial weight result appears on
display.
Hold
Press to lock the display.
“HOLD” shows and display is frozen.
Press again to resume display.
“HOLD” hides and display resume refreshing.
Unit Switch
Press for 1 second to switch measuring unit
between kg, lb and N.
If scale is tared, or held, unit switching is not allowed.

Zero
Press for 1 second to zero
scale.
“ZERO” shows and weight turns
zero.
If weight is tared, or not stable, or held, zero is not
allowed.
If weight is o er the Manual-Zero range, zero is not
allowed.
Settings
Press and simultaneously, and hold the two
buttons for 1 second, to enter Setting Mode.
Press To enter Auto-Off option; and press
to change Auto-Off option.
Auto-Off can be set to 0 (disabled), 5 (5min), 15
(15min), 30 (30min), 60 (60min).
Press to enter Auto-Zero option; and
press to change Auto-Zero option.
Auto-Zero can be set to 0 (disabled), by 2 (2% of full
cap.), 4 (4%of full cap.), 10 (10% of full cap.), 20
(20%of full cap.), 50 (50% of full cap.)
Press to manually enter Zero option; and
press to change Manually entered-zero option.
Manual-Zero can also be set to 0 (disabled), 2 (2%of
full cap.), 4 (4%of full cap.), 10 (10%of full cap.), 20
(20%of full cap.), 50 (50% of full cap.).
Press to enter backlight option; and press to
change backlight option.
Backlight can be set to off (disabled), 5 (5sec), 15
(15sec), 30 (30sec), 60 (60sec), on (ne er).
Once backlight is set to 5, 15, 30, or 60, ff it turns off
corresponding to the seconds after stability has been
reached.
When Backlight is set to off, it is completely disabled.

Once Backlight is set on, scale ne er turns off backlight,
independent from stability.
Press to exit the Settings Mode.

Cleaning:
For cleaning just use a damp cloth or common disinfection products.
Do not use any aggressi e cleaning fluids.
Warranty – Liability:
ADE will repair or replace this product within a period of 1 year from date of deli ery applying to
defects occurred due to poor material or workmanship (presentation of in oice is necessary). All
mo eable parts – batteries, cables, mains units, rechargeable batteries etc. – are excluded. Warranty
does not include natural wear, damages caused by incorrect or negligent handling, o eruse or
unsuitable or improper storage. The cost of transport will be borne by the customer should the
equipment be located anywhere other then the customer’s premises. In the e ent of transport
damage, claims under warranty can be accepted subject to using the complete original packaging and
the equipment secured the way it was packed and secured originally. All the packaging should
therefore be retained.
Any warranty claim will be rejected if the equipment is opened by persons not authorized expressi ely
by ADE to do so.
To make sure the scale is fully reliable at any time do check the scale in regular inter als by using
tested weights.

Storage and Transport
Please keep all original parts and pieces for an e entual return of the scale in order to.
a oid any possible damage during transport which automatically leads to non-warranty.
Disposal
This symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product shall not be treated as
household waste. Instead it shall be handed o er to the applicable collection point for the
recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. For more detailed information about recycling
contact your local city office, your household waste disposal ser ice or the shop where you
purchased the product.
It is not allowed to dispose batteries and accumulators in household waste and have to
be disposed in discharged condition or with isolated electric poles. Otherwise short
circuits may occur.
