Auxiliary input Adapter
Installation Guide for VW Group Radios (Not Prewired)
Revised June 6, 2015

Introduction:
Many VW Group Owners are looking for an easy an effective way of
connecting and listening to their portable audio devices on the
factory radio. Connecting an Auxiliary adapter to most VW Group
usually requires disconnecting the factory External Changer**
or SiriusXM options. he PXDXVW2 works on the CD Changer
port of select 1998-08 VW Single DIN Radios and udi Concert &
Symphony Radios that are NOT pre-wired for the CD Changer.
(Single DIN Radios are 2” tall)
Installation:
1. Remove radio from the dashboard to gain access to the
connectors.
2. Pair of special removal tools (See Fig. 1) is required to
remove these Radios. (Symphony radios requires 2 pairs)

1. o remove slide tools into the Radio slots to second
detent position. Withdraw the radio by pulling outwards.
2. With radio removed disconnect the factory 20-way solid
black plug ( udi Concert and Symphony) (See Fig. 2 )
For VW go to step 6

3. Align and mate the blue plug from Adapter harness (See
Fig. 4) with Green plug on the optional AA3-HAR harness
(See Fig. 3). he final plug should resemble that of Fig. 5.

4. Connect the 3 plug combination (yellow, green, blue) into
the Radio’s 20-way slot vacated in step 2
5. Connect the solid black plug from step 2, to the red
connector on the opti0nal AA3-HAR harness (See Fig. 6)

6. Connect the blue 8-way plug from the adapter harness
(See Fig. 4) to the C-3 slot on VW Radio (See Fig. 7)

7. Connect the 22-way Molex plug on Adapter harness (See
Fig. 4) to the 22-way connector on Main Module (See Fig.
8)

8. Dip switches 1 & 8 must be set “ON” (See Fig. 9) or
consult user manual included with adapter.

9. Connect the 8-pin DIN to RC OR 8-pin DIN to 3.5mm
cable (See Fig. 10) to the Main Module. (See Fig. 11)

10. Route the 3.5mm plug to the front of the dash or location
where audio device will reside (within 6 ft.)

Test Operation:
1. urn the Radio “ON”
2. Press the “CD” button to enter CD Changer Mode
3. Connect audio device to gray Audio cable (See Fig. 12) or
RCA jacks.

4. Search the device for a song and press play.
5. Use radio volume control button to set the playback level.

Playlist and rack selection is *NO * possible
from the VW Group radio. You must use the audio devices
built-in controls to access audio files.
6. If correct operation is confirmed go ahead and reinstall
Radio
