Old electrical and electronic appliances
Electrical or electronic devices that are no longer serviceable must be collected separately and
sent for environmentally compatible recycling (in accordance with the European Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive).
To dispose of old electrical or electronic devices, you should use the return and collection
systems put in place in the country concerned.

2 Short information
This manual describes how to operate the MAP control center.
2.1 Introduction
The MAP control center is an input device for the MAP 5000 system.
Each control center has a vibrant-color 14cm (5.7inch) LCD screen. The durable touch screen
provides access to system functions through an interface with intuitive buttons. Users touch
the images directly on the screen to arm, disarm, or select other menu options. The display
text is shown in the language defined by the user.

3 System overview
The MAP control center consists of a housing with three LEDs and an LCD screen.
3.1 Housing with LEDs
Three light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are located on the left edge of the MAP control center
housing:

1 Green LED Indicates that the control center is in normal condition.
2 Yellow LED Indicates that there is a trouble condition, that devices are
covered, or that devices of the system are bypassed or
disabled.
3 Red LED The default behavior indicates that an alarm condition exists
in the security system.
3.2 LCD screen
How to operate the LCD screen
– To operate the LCD screen, tap the icons and buttons shown on the screen with
moderate pressure.
– To avoid damage of the LCD screen, do not use sharp objects during operation.
3.3 Main menu
Notice!
The buttons on your touch screen are determined by the user authorization level that has
been configured by the installer. Therefore, your touch screen might be different from what is
described in this manual.

Element Component Description
1 Screen name This information identifies the active screen.
2 Menu buttons These buttons are used to perform tasks.
3 Installer mode icon This icon indicates that the control panel is in installer
mode.
4 RPS connected icon This icon indicates that remote programming software is
connected to the control panel.
5 Information button This buttons is used to view additional system information
and to clear events, alarms or troubles.
Flashing red: not yet cleared system events and alarms
Flashing yellow: not yet cleared system troubles
Green: no additional system information available
6 Navigation bar These buttons are used to navigate through the system, to
find tasks or to view system information. Grayed out
buttons are not activated.

Back Shows the previous screen.
Home Shows the main menu.
Page-up Shows the previous page on screens with more than one
page.
Page-down Shows the next page on screens with more than one page.
Help Shows helpful information about the active screen.
Exit Logs the user off and switches the display to the idle
screen.
