The Brother TN-2110 toner cartridge, TN-2120, HL-2140, HL-2170 has a side filler hole (Fig. 1). In the
original state, the cap of the filling opening is taped with a paper label. Remove the label and the
sealing plug. It is important to remove all residual toner from the toner cartridge. Suck it off
thoroughly with the toner vacuum cleaner. To avoid later clumping of the toner. Then you can fill the
new toner into the laser cartridge. After you have finished refilling, close the filling opening with the
previously removed sealing plug.
IMPORTANT: The toner cartridges TN-2110 and TN-2120 must be absolutely leak proof. By gently
tapping on a piece of white paper, check the tightness of the cartridge PLUG. It must not trickle
toner powder from the cartridge.
Now the reset lever on the other side of the Toner Cartridge of the Brother TN-2110, TN-2120, HL-
2140, HL-2170 must be returned to its original position
First Remove the three screws and remove the cover see ( fig1) then turn the reset lever to the
position showed in (fig 3) Then reassemble back onto the cartridge making sure the gears are intact.

PLEASE NOTE STARTER CARTRIDGES
The reset lever is not mounted in most cases with the TN-2110 and TN-2120 cartridges, which are
part of the initial printer purchase. If you want to refill these cartridges now, you also need to install
the reset lever in addition to filling the toner cartridge, as the cartridge is otherwise displayed as
"empty" and so the printer does not continue to print. For subsequently purchased Brother TN-2110
and TN-2120 toner cartridges, the reset lever is usually already present.
The reset lever is a mechanical device to count the toner level. The printer assumes that only about
3-5% of a printed page is really covered. He then counts up how many pages can be printed with this
cartridge at this page coverage. The reset lever is connected to the mechanics of the toner cartridge
and therefore runs with each print. When the reset lever reaches its end position, the toner
cartridge is displayed as "empty" and the printer is denying its service.
After two to three fillings, the photoconductor drum of your TN-2110 or TN-2120 toner cartridge
may begin to print streaks or a gray film. In this case, it is consumed. To replace the photoconductor
drum or drum, you must disassemble the cartridge. A corresponding Rebuilt guide can be supplied
