Your BT Synergy 3005 is intended to be registered to t e
BT Synergy 3105 or 3505 base station. If you register to
t e BT Synergy 3500 you will not be able to access t e
answering mac ine features. It may also be registered to
ot er DECT GAP compatible bases wit possible limited
availability of some functions.
Digital call quality wit a range of up to 300 metres
outdoors and up to 50 metres indoors (in ideal
conditions).

Use Caller Display to see w o is calling and keep track of
unanswered calls*.
T e BT Synergy 3005 is a Digitally En anced Cordless
Telecommunications (DECT) product and is GAP
compatible.
* You must subscribe to your network provider’s Caller Display service for t is

Handset range
T e BT Synergy 3005 as a range
of 300 metres outdoors w en t ere
is a clear line of sig t between t e
base and andset. W en t ere is
no clear line of sig t between t e
base and andset, e.g. base
indoors and andset eit er indoors
or outdoors, t e range could be
reduced to 50 metres. T ick stone
walls can severely affect t e range.
Signal strength
T e symbol on your andset
display indicates w en you are in
range. W en you are out of range,
it flas es and BASE 1 is displayed.
T e base station must be plugged
into t e mains at all times.
T e c arger must be plugged into
t e mains power at all times.
T e red C arging lig t stays on even
w en t e batteries are full c arged.
Location
You need to place your BT Synergy 3005 wit in 2 metres
of a mains power socket so t at t e cable will reac .
Make sure it is at least 1 metre away from ot er
electrical appliances to avoid interference.
Your BT Synergy 3005 works by sending radio signals
between t e andset and base. T e strengt of t e
signal depends on w ere you site t e base. Putting it as
ig as possible ensures t e best signal.
Setting up
1. Connect t e mains power adaptor to t e c arger and
switc on.

Getting started
Talk/Standby time
Under ideal conditions, fully c arged
andset batteries s ould give about
14 ours talk time or 350 ours
standby time on a single c arge.
BATTERY LOW WAR I G
If t e andset battery symbol is
empty and flas ing, and you ear
a warning beep every minute, you
will need to rec arge your andset
before you can use it.
Battery performance
To keep your batteries in t e best
condition, leave t e andset off
t e base for a few ours at a time
(after t e initial 16 our c arge).
New NiMH batteries do not reac
full capacity until t ey ave been
in normal use for several days.
Running t e batteries rig t down
at least once a week will elp t em
last as long as possible.
T e c arge capacity of
rec argeable batteries will reduce
wit time as t ey wear out, so
reducing t e talk/ standby time of
t e andset. Eventually t ey will
need to be replaced. New batteries
can be obtained from t e BT
Synergy Helpline 0870 605 8047.
2. Insert t e 2 x AAA NiMH batteries supplied. T en slide
t e battery compartment cover into place.
3. Place t e andset on t e c arger to c arge for at least
16 ours. T e red C arging lig t comes on. W en t e
andset is fully c arged t e display s ows a full battery
symbol.
Register your BT Synergy 3005 to the BT Synergy
3105 or 3505 base
If you are registering to anot er DECT GAP compatible
base station ot er t an t e BT Synergy 3105 or 3505,
please refer to t at user guide for registering additional
andsets.
Make sure t e andset is close to t e base.
At t e base:
1. Press and hold until you ear two beeps (after
about 10 seconds) t en release.

Navigating the menus
Your BT Synergy 3005 andset as a menu system w ic
is easy to use. Eac menu as a list of options, w ic you
can see on t e menu map on t e following page.
W en t e andset is switc ed on and in standby:
1. Press to open t e main menu t en press and
to scroll to t e menu option you want.
2. Press to view t e sub-menus for t e displayed
menu, t en use and to select furt er menu
options and to confirm any settings.

quick and easy redialling. T e name will be displayed
instead of t e number, if a name/number matc is found
in t e p onebook (see page 19).

Secrecy
Use secrecy during a call to mute your voice so t at
you can talk to someone nearby wit out your caller
earing you.

Internal calls
If you ave more t an one andset registered to t e
base, you can make internal calls between andsets.
1. Press and enter t e andset number you want to
call, (1-5).

Transferring calls
You can transfer an external call to anot er andset

You can talk to an external caller and an internal caller at
t e same time on your andset.
During an external call:
1. Press to put your caller on old. Enter t e number
of t e internal andset (1-5) you wis to talk to.
2. W en t e andset answers, press and hold for
about 3 seconds.
You can now start your 3-way conversation.

Writing tips
If you make a mistake, press to

Phonebook with Caller Display
If you subscribe to a Caller Display
service, and want t e names in
your P onebook displayed instead
of t e p one numbers, you must
store t e full telep one number
including t e full dialling code.
Insert a ‘pause’ in a stored
number
You may need to enter a pause
w en storing international
numbers, c arge card numbers or
if you connect your telep one to a
switc board. (For more information
on use wit a switc board, see
page 41)
