- Please verify that the product is complete and free from any damage.
- It is the customer's responsability to select an appropriate device for the
application, ensure the unit is installed correctly, and maintain all components.

with the fluid in contact and the cleaning products.
- This product should only be installed or repaired according to the standards and
rules in force in the country, by specialist staff using the correct tool.
- When dismounting the device from the pipe, take all the necessary precautions
linked to the process.
- Please observe the relevant safety regulations throughout the operation,
maintenance and repair of the product.
- Always ensure that the power supply is switched off and the pipes / tank do not
contain any pressure before working on the device / system.
- This electronic device is sensitive to electrostatic discharge; To avoid any
damage by immediate electrostatic discharge, pay attention to the requirements
of EN 100 015-1.
- Always protect the device from electromagnetic perturbations, ultraviolet
radiations and, when installed outside, from the effects of climatic conditions.
- If these instructions are ignored or the device is not used according to the
specifications, no liability will be accepted and the guarantee on the device and
accessories will become invalid.



The 8020 sensor is designed for measuring the flow of neutral or slightly aggressive solid
free liquids.
The sensor is made up of a transducer and a measuring finger with a paddle-wheel which
paddles contain magnets.
The sensor detects the rotation of the paddle-wheel and generates a signal which fre-
quency f is proportional to the flow rate Q. The proportionality factor is called K factor; its
value is specific to each fitting and can be read out from the fitting instruction manual.
Following versions of the transducer are available:
- either with two pulse outputs (Hall effect sensor with 2 transistor outputs,
NPN and PNP),
- either with one pulse output (Low Power Hall effect sensor with 1 NPN transistor
output),
- either with one sinus output (coil output)
The electric connection is carried out via a cable plug EN 175301-803.




The sensor and the fitting it is inserted into have limited operating temperature and pres-
sure values. The following diagram gives the operating ranges for the sensor+fitting as-
sembly, for each fitting material:






The 8020 flowmeter can be installed in any pipe using our specially designed S020 fitting
system.
The sensor can be installed whatever the inclination of the pipe.
When mounting fitting , make sure to respect the instructions described in § 2.1
and within the instruction manual of the fitting. Then:
- Insert nut  into fitting  and let plastic ring  snap into guide bush .
- Carefully insert the sensor into the fitting. If installed properly, the
sensor cannot be rotated.
- Tighten the sensor to the fitting using nut .





- Use cables with an operating limit temperature of at least 80 °C.
- For normal operating conditions the measuring signal can be transmitted by a shielded
cable of 0,75 mm2 cross section.
- The cable must not be installed in combination with carrying lines with a higher voltage
or frequency.
- If a combined installation cannot be avoided, a minimum space of 30 cm should be
respected.
- The power supply must be filtered and regulated.
 
- Extract part [3] from part [2]
- Unscrew cable gland [5]
- Insert cable into part [2] through cable gland [5]
- Wire part [3] as described in
paragraph 2.3.2, 2.3.4 or 2.3.5
- Insert part [3] back
- Fasten cable gland [5]
- Place gasket [4] between the cable plug and the fixed connector
- Connect the cable plug to the sensor
- Fasten screw [1] to ensure tightness and correct electrical contact.
 
This version has one NPN transistor output and one PNP transistor output.
Max. wiring distance is 50 metres.









Depending on the PLC type connect either the NPN or the PNP output.

Max. wiring distance is 50 metres.

The NPN pulse output of the Low Power Hall version can be connected to a PLC in the
same way as the NPN output of a Hall version (see § 2.3.2).

If the sensor has been installed properly and is used under correct operating conditions it
is maintenance free. Nevertheless if contamination or clogging occurs, clean the wetted
parts (paddle-wheel, axis, bearings) with water or any PVDF compatible cleaning agent.
 

Le capteur 8020 est destiné à la mesure du débit dans des liquides neutres ou légère-
ment agressifs et exempts de particules solides.
Le capteur est pourvu d'un transducteur et d'un doigt de mesure avec une ailette dont les
pales renferment un aimant.
Le capteur détecte la rotation de l'ailette et génère un signal dont la fréquence f est
proportionnelle au débit Q. Le facteur de proportionnalité est appelé facteur K ; sa valeur,
indiquée dans le manuel utilisateur du raccord utilisé, est spécifique à chaque raccord.
Le transducteur est disponible dans les versions suivantes :
- soit avec deux sorties impulsion (capteur à effet Hall avec 2 sorties transistor NPN et
PNP)
- soit avec une sortie impulsion (capteur à effet Hall Low Power, avec une sortie
transistor NPN)
- soit avec une sortie sinusoïdale (bobine)
Le raccordement électrique s'effectue via un connecteur EN 175301-803.
