Operation and Maintenance Instructions for Jaguar Gravity Spray Guns
Operation
1. Connect air supp y hose at hand e of gun. 5/16 air hose x 25 ft. max. ength is recommended. A so,
on y use CAT high f ow quick disconnects and avoid using any restrictive fittings for the air supp y to
the gun.
2. Screw the paint cup onto the guns gravity feed f uid in et.
3. F uid f ow can be contro ed using the f uid contro knob, this restricts f ow by imiting need e trave . It
is best to contro f uid f ow by the proper se ection of orifice size and use the f uid contro knob to
fine tune f ow rate.
4. Fan width can be adjusted using the fan contro knob. Turning the knob c ockwise narrows the fan.
Maintenance
IMPORTANT! Routine c eaning and maintenance is essentia to insure proper gun operation.
Severa states prohibit spraying so vent into the atmosphere and require the use of covered gun c eaner.
1. If a gun c eaner is being used, connect and c ean the gun in the gun c eaner according to the
manufactures instructions.
2. If a gun c eaner is not being used:
Remove air cap and c ean separate y using c ean so vent.
C ean the gravity feed cup thorough y, then spray c ean so vent through the gun unti c ean.
NOTE: Gun disassembly is not recommended for normal cleaning and maintenance.
Gun disassembly and reassembly instructions:
Have repair kit # 10-105 avai ab e before gun disassemb y.
Disassembly
To remove nozz e carrier (5) and air cap adapter (7):
1. Remove the air cap (1), f uid tip (2), f uid nozz e body (3) and need e (16).
2. Remove need e sea cartridge (17).
3. Loosen ocknut (11) and remove f uid in et (12).
4. The f uid nozz e carrier (5) and air cap adapter (7) wi now s ide foward from the gun hand e (13).
Reassembly
1. Insta new o-ring (8) on the air cap adapter (7).
2. Insta air cap adapter (7) into gun body (13).
3. (For Lynx 100 Conventiona On y) insta sea (4) onto air cap adapter (7).
4. Insta the ocknut (11) and sea (10) onto the f uid in et (12) as far as possib e.
5. Insta a new f uid in et sea (9) into the recessed area on the nozz e carrier (5) in et port.
6. Insta carrier sea (6) onto the back of the nozz e carrier (5).
7. S ide the nozz e carrier (5) into the air cap adapter (7) as far as possib e. Be sure the nozz e carrier
extends into the ho e at the back of the gun head. Insta the need e sea cartridge (17) but do not tighten.
8. Rotate the nozz e carrier (5) unti the f uid in et port in the nozz e carrier is a igned with the threaded ho e
in the gun body (13). Whi e in this position, insert the f uid in et (12) and tighten firm y.
9. Tighten need e sea (17) to approx.12 ft- bs torque.
10. Tighten f uid in et (12) to approx. 25 ft- bs torque.
11. Tighten ocknut (11) to approx. 33 ft- bs torque.
