Turning the SVED® OFF
To turn the SVED® o, press the OFF Button.
NOTE: Please refer to the Cardinal Health™ SVED® CLINICIAN User Manual for
detailed instructions and review the Precautions and Contraindications before use.
This can be found at www.infusystem.com/npwt.
Insert canister in holder by sliding it up into bottom of the Canister Holder. Line up
the two short ports with the Canister Holder and press until it “clicks” into place and
locks. To remove canister, press Canister Release Button, grasp canister at bottom
and pull downward.
Intermittent Mode
To operate the SVED® in Intermittent Mode, press and hold the desired Pressure
Setting Button then momentarily press the OFF Button. The ON Button
begins ashing and the SVED® beeps twice indicating the SVED® is now operating in
Intermittent Mode. Release both buttons. Repeat process to return to Continuous
Mode.
Troubleshooting Alerts
If the SVED® begins to alert, please refer to troubleshooting table on the back.
Therapy Lockout
To lock therapy setting, press and hold the desired Pressure Setting Button for 3
seconds. The SVED® beeps three times indicating therapeutic setting is locked.
Repeat process to unlock therapy setting.
Turning the SVED® ON
Press the ON Button to start therapy. Select desired negative pressure wound
therapy setting by pressing the corresponding Pressure Setting -70, -120, or
-150mmHg button. The Pressure Setting Button ashes until desired
pressure is reached, after which the button remains lit.
Connect the Dressing
Connect the blue end of the tubing to the open port of the canister. Gently twist and
push connector on just enough to seal it. Make sure that the clamp on the tubing is
open.
NOTE: Please refer to the Cardinal Health™ SVED® Clinician User Manual for
instructions on how to properly dress the wound and troubleshoot issues.

Notice to Users: As with any prescription medical device, failure to follow
product instructions or adjusting settings and performing therapy applications
without the express direction and/or supervision of your trained clinical
caregiver may lead to improper product performance and the potential for
serious or fatal injury.
Debrillation: Remove the wound dressing if debrillation is required in the
area of dressing placement. Failure to remove the dressing may inhibit
electrical current transmission and/or patient resuscitation.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI): The SVED® is not MRI-compatible. Do
not take into the MRI area.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO): NEVER allow an SVED® — whether on or
o — inside a hyperbaric chamber. The SVED® must be disconnected from the
patient prior to HBO treatment.

Visually assess the canister to see if it is full.
If the canister is full, change the canister.

• Plug in the SVED®. A green light shows next to
Plugged In indicator and an amber light next
to Battery Charging indicates that power is
going to the SVED®. The amber light turns o
after the battery is fully charged.
• Clamp the tubing.
• If Low Pressure/Leak light stops and Canister
Full light begins ashing, there is a leak
between the clamp and the dressing — often
in the dressing. Reopen the clamp before
addressing the leak.
• Gently press around drape to check for leaks.
If leak is found, patch with extra drape material
or drape strips.
• If Low Pressure/Leak Alert continues, there is a
leak between the clamp and the SVED®. Check
the tubing connection at the canister. Check to
ensure that the canister is fully seated and
locked. Check for cracks in the canister or lid
separation. If found, replace the canister.
• Open the clamp.
Intermittent Mode maintains target pressure
for 5 minutes and decreases to -25mmHg for 2
minutes. To change from Continuous to
Intermittent Mode, press and hold the Pressure
Setting Button and tap the OFF Button.
Repeat to change back to Continuous Mode.
