Quick Reference

Cisco CallManager Release 4.0 and Later
Using the Phone
Power on the phone—Press (red key)
and hold until phone powers on.
Dial a number—Press numbers on the keypad
and then press . (There is no dial tone).
Answer a call—Press (green key).
Hang up a call—Press (red key).
Power off the phone—Press and hold
until phone powers off.
Basic Phone Features
Access phone features—Press or
(softkey) that corresponds to the feature. Use
or to see other features during a call.
Access Menu options—Press (Menu)
and use or to switch to the desired
menu option.
Put a call on Hold—Press Hold.Press
Resume to reconnect to the call.
Answer another incoming call—Press Hold
for current call. Press to select the second
call and press to answer the call.
Transfer a call—Press Trnsfer.Dial the
number to which you want to transfer the
call. After the party answers or the phone
rings, press Trnsfer, then hang up.
Reconnect to a call—If your call fails to
transfer or you want to reconnect to a held
call, press Resume.
Move a shared line call between desk phone
and wireless phone—From your phone with
the active call, press Hold.From your other
phone, press Resume to connect to the call.
Mute the microphone—Press MuteOn. To
turn the microphone on, press MuteOff.
Make a Conference Call
During a call, press Confrn to put the first
party on hold. (Press or to locate
Confrn if not visible.) Dial the number for the
second party. After the second party answers,
press Confrn again to complete the action.
To add another party, press Confrn and
repeat the steps.
Forward Your Calls to Another Number
Locate CFwdAll and press it. Dial the number
to which you want to forward all calls.
“Forwarded to <number>” displays.
Cancel forwarding by pressing CFwdAll.

Shortcut Keys
Lock keypad—Press and hold (# key).
indicates the keypad is locked.
Unlock keypad—Press and hold then
press OK to toggle keylock off.
Toggle ring to vibrate—Press and hold
(* key). “Vibration On” displays and appears
on the screen. (Ringer becomes silent)
Toggle vibrate to ring—Press and hold .
“Vibration Off” displays; disappears.
Adjust speaker volume—Press to access
the volume screen. Press to increase or
to decrease the volume.
Access voice messages—Press and hold
for a moment. The phone connects to your
voice-messaging system.
Redial number—Press to view a list of
dialed calls. Press to locate the number
and press to redial the number.
Access Speed Dial number—Press and hold
(2-9) for the Speed Dial number that
you want to use. The phone displays and dials
the number that is stored for that hot key.

Softkey Definitions
CallBack—Receive notification when a busy
extension becomes available.
Barge and cBarge—Join a call on a shared
line.
Conflist—View a list of conference
participants.
DirTrfr—Transfer two calls to each other.
iDivert—Send a call to the voice-messaging
system.
GPickUp—Answer a call on another
extension in another pickup group.
Join—Join two calls on a single line.
MeetMe—Host a conference call that has a
dial-in number.
Park—Store an active call at a specific
number. Retrieve the call by dialing the Park
number from any phone.
PickUp—Answer a call on another extension
that is in your Call Pickup group.
RmLstC—Drop the last party added to a
conference call
Setting Up Speed Dial Numbers
Access Speed Dial setup—Choose Menu >
Directory > Phone Book. Scroll to and select
Speed Dial. The Speed Dial hot keys display.
Check marks indicate those hot keys that
have assigned phone numbers.
Add or change a Speed Dial number—Scroll
to a Speed Dial hot key and press Detail. Press
Edit to enter or change the number by using
the keypad. Press OK to save the Speed Dial.
Making Phone Book Entries
Add or change a Phone Book entry—Choose
Menu > Directory > Phone Book > Add.
Scroll to the entry item and press Select. Enter
the name or phone number by using the
keypad.
Enter text—Press the numeric key once, twice
or three times to enter the appropriate
character. To enter a number, press the key
four times. For spaces, press or .
Enter uppercase—Press to switch
between uppercase and lowercase. or
displays at the right of the screen.
Enter symbols—Press to display the
symbol table. Use arrows to navigate to
desired symbol and press Use to insert it.

Getting Started
Before getting started with your Cisco Wireless IP
Phone 7920, make sure that the following items are in
the box and inform your system administrator or
supplier if any items are missing:

Note The radio frequency (RF) for this phone is
configured for a specific regulatory domain.

Safety and Performance Information
Before installing and using your phone Cisco Wireless
IP Phone 7920, read the following safety notices.
Warning This warning symbol means danger. You
are in a situation that could cause bodily
injury. Before you work on any equipment,
be aware of the hazards involved with
electrical circuitry and be familiar with
standard practices for preventing
accidents.
Warning Read the installation instructions before
connecting the system to the power
source.
Warning The plug-socket combination on the
battery charger must be accessible at all
times, because it serves as the main
disconnecting device.

Warning This equipment will not be able to access
emergency services during a power
outage because of reliance on utility
power for normal operation. Alternative
arrangements should be made for access
to emergency services. Access to
emergency services can be affected by
any call-barring function of this
equipment.
Warning Do not use the Cisco Wireless IP
Phone 7920 in hazardous environments
such as areas where high levels of
explosive gas may be present. Check with
the site safety engineer before using any
type of wireless device in such an The
battery charger requires short-circuit
(overcurrent) protection to be provided as
part of the building installation. Install
only in accordance with national and
local wiring regulations.

Battery Safety Notices
These battery safety notices apply to the batteries that
are approved by the Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920
manufacturer.
Warning There is the danger of explosion if the
battery is replaced incorrectly. Replace
the battery only with the same or
equivalent type recommended by the
manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries
according to the manufacturer’s
instructions.
Warning Do not dispose of the battery pack in fire or
water. The battery may explode if placed
in a fire.
Caution The battery pack is intended for use only
with this device.
Caution Do not disassemble, crush, puncture, or
incinerate the battery pack.

Caution To avoid risk of fire, burns, or damage to
your battery pack, do not allow a metal
object to touch the battery contacts.
Caution Handle a damaged or leaking battery with
extreme care. If you come in contact with
the electrolyte, wash the exposed area
with soap and water. If the electrolyte has
come in contact with the eye, flush the eye
with water for 15 minutes and seek
medical attention.
Caution Do not charge the battery pack if the
ambient temperature exceeds 104 degrees
Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius).
Caution Do not expose the battery pack to high
storage temperatures (above 140 degrees
Fahrenheit, 60 degrees Celsius).

Caution When discarding a battery pack, contact
your local waste disposal provider
regarding local restrictions on the disposal
or recycling of batteries.
Caution To obtain a replacement battery, contact
your local dealer. Use only the batteries
that have a Cisco part number.

Caution Use only the Cisco power supply that was
provided with your phone. If you need to
replace your power supply, refer to the list of

Installing or Removing the Phone
Battery
You must install and charge the battery before you
can use the Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920. To install
or remove the battery, follow these steps.
1. To install the battery, insert the battery catches
(as shown in Figure 1-1) in the corresponding
slots at the bottom of the Cisco Wireless
IP Phone 7920. Make sure that the metal
contacts on the battery and the phone are facing
each other.
2. Press the battery to the body of the phone until it
locks into place.
3. To remove the battery, press down on the locking
catch, then lift and remove the battery.
