–Quick Start Guide –Displayed on the instrument by pressing the key
ALWAYS REFER TO THE USER MANUAL FOR ALL THE DETAILS ON THE
OPERATION OF THE INSTRUMENT.
ANALYSIS CYCLE EXECUTION
-
Turn on the instrument
-
Press the START button
-
Open the top lid
-
Insert the test tubes until they are fully flush, orienting them
with the label facing the mark on the plate
-
Close the top lid
-
Press the button corresponding to the cycle
mode you want to start
-
Automatic reading of the barcodes and indication on the display of
the number of samples present
-
Automatic mixing of the samples
-
Blood level reading at time 0’
-
Sedimentation
-
Blood level reading after 30 minutes (1H) or after 60 minutes (2H), with any
intermediate readings for sedimentation kinetics (1H KYN or 2H KYN)
ANALYSIS CYCLE EXECUTION –RANDOM ACCESS
-
During a cycle it will be possible at any time (excluding the cycle modes in kinetics
and the mixing phase) to insert a new sample
-
Mix the sample thoroughly before inserting it into the instrument (at least 8 times per
complete inversion)
-
Press the ADD button
-
Wait for the indication authorizing the opening of the top lid
-
Open the top lid and insert the test tube (as described above) in the position
indicated in the warning window that appears on the screen
-
Close the top lid
-
Automatic reading of the barcode of the added sample
-
Blood level reading at time 0’
-
Sedimentation
-
Blood level reading after 30 minutes (1H) or after 60 minutes (2H)
RESULTS
At the end of the analysis, the instrument displays the result for each sample in mm/h:
-
It will be green for ESR within the normal range
-
It will be red for ESR outside the normal range (which can be defined in the settings
menu under "THRESHOLD VALUE")
At the end of the analysis, the results are printed automatically (default ON)
ARCHIVE
-
Press the ARCHIVE button
-
Select the samples for consultation/printing of the results and of the
sedimentation graphs

QUALITY CONTROLS
Control materials can be processed like any blood sample.
QUALITY CONTROLS PROVIDED BY DIESSE DIAGNOSTICA SENESE ARE AUTOMATICALLY
RECOGNIZED BY THE INSTRUMENT.
RECORDING OF QUALITY CONTROLS NOT PROVIDED BY DIESSE
To carry out this procedure, the Quality Controls must be identified by a dedicated
barcode. If this is not present, it is necessary to print labels with a barcode, which, read
by the instrument, can be combined with the information introduced below.

Press the SETTING button
-
Press the QC icon
-
Introduce the Normal Control (Level 1) in position 1
-
Press the DETECT button. The instrument identifies the barcode and displays it in
the barcode window
-
Manually enter the data relating to name, lot, expiration date and limits of acceptability
-
Remove the Normal QC
-
Introduce the Abnormal Control (Level 2) in position 1
-
Repeat the procedure already performed for the Normal Control
Following this procedure, the instrument will be able to automatically identify the controls
during a cycle, by reading their barcode and displaying them on the screen:
-
Normal Control: test tube with white cup
-
Abnormal Control: test tube with black cup
SYMBOLS AND ICONS
If the barcode is not read, a black dot appears next to the sample, and a warning
window indicates all the unread positions.
Option 1
-
Open the top lid and reposition the tube correctly in the sample holder plate
-
Press the RETRY button to have the barcode read again
Option 2
-
Press on the text line
-
Enter the code manually (using the on-screen keyboard)
-
Press the OK button
Option 3
Do not enter any code for this sample and move to the next position by pressing
the SKIP button
Option 4
Do not enter codes for all unidentified samples: press the SKIP ALL button
If none of these options is undertaken within 30 seconds, the SKIP ALL choice is
activated and the cycle starts automatically.
Residual sedimentation time (in minutes) for all the samples inserted at the start
of the cycle
Residual sedimentation time (in minutes) relating to the sample added in random
access mode, in correspondence with the position in which it was inserted

REFILL TEST NUMBER
-Press the SETTING button
-Select the REFILL item
-Insert the TEST DEVICE Original 4K in the dedicated
compartment (as shown in the figure)
-Press the CHECK button
-Press OK to confirm the number of tests to refill
-Automatic update of the number of tests displayed on
the instrument screen (top left)
