The following installation rules should be respected in
order to have the best working order of the equipment
and for the user’s safety
ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS
Enviromental temperature Relative humidity

INSTALLAZIONE HARDWARE
Dopo aver tolto il prodotto dalla confezione verificate l’integrità
dell’apparato. Proseguite seguendo i passi di seguito indicati.
1. Collegate il cavetto di adattamento al GSM - Palladio USB e rispettate il
corretto verso di inserimento indicato dal simbolo .

2. Collegate il cavetto al vostro telefono cellulare avendo cura di rispettare
l’esatto lato di inserimento.

INSTALLATION HARDWARE
Removethemodem from its package and check it is OK. Proceed in accordancewith the following instructions:
1. Connectthe miniDIN(6pins) cable tothePalladio USBsocket:be carefultotheright insertion.Inany case,amechanical
key is present on the socket to avoid an incorrect insertion (Picture 1).
2. Connect the cable for your GSM phone (Picture 2).
3. Connect the USB cable to the USB socket on your Computer. If you have any problems identifying the USB socket on
your Computer, refer to the User’s Manual of your PC (Picture 3).

INSTALLATION MATÉRIELLE
Déballer le modem Procédé ensuite aux vérifications suivantes:
1. Connecter le câble miniDIN (6 pins) à l'adaptateur PalladioUSB en faisant bien attention d'utiliser la bonne prise. Dans
tous les cas un dé trompeur est présent pour éviter une mauvaise insertion (image 1).
2. Connecter le câble à votre téléphone GSM
Attention:pourpourvoir envoyer des fax et des données avec votre téléphone GSM, vous devez d1abordvérifiersivotre
fournisseur d'accès téléphonique le permet et que l'abonnement correspondant est inclus dans votre forfais (image 2).
3. Connectez le câble à la prise USB de votre micro-ordinateur. Si vous avez un problème pour identifier la prise USB de
votre micro-ordinateur, référez vous au manuel de ce dernier (image 3).
INSTALACION DEL HARDWARE
Retire el módem de su caja y compruebe que funcione. Siga las instrucciones siguientes:
1. Conecte el cable miniDIN (6 pines) al adaptador Palladio USB, insertándolo con el máximo cuidado. De todas maneras,
un dispositivo mecánico evitará una conexión errónea (Figura 1).
2. Conecte el cable de su teléfono GSM.
Nota: Para poder enviar datos y faxes utilizando su teléfono GSM, estos servic ios deben estar dados de alta por su
proveedor de telefonía GSM (Figura 2).
3. Conecte el cable USB al puerto USB del ordenador. Si tiene algún problema para identificar dicho puerto del ordenador,
consulte el manual de usuario del mismo (Figura 3).

Nachdem Sie das Modem aus der Verpackung genommen haben, stellen Sie sicher, dass das Produkt
vollständig und intakt ist. Folgen Sie dann den weiteren Schritten der Anleitung.
1. VerbindenSiedasAnschlusskabel IhresGSM’sandasPalladio-USBModem.Beachten SiedabeidenkorrektenAnschluss.
Das Palladio-Modem besitzt einen Stift, der das richtigen Einstecken erleichtert.
2. Verbinden Sie das Kabel nun an Ihr GSM. Achten Sie auch hier auf den korrekten Anschluss.
Achtung: Um Daten oder Faxe über Ihr GSM-Telefon zu senden oder zu empfangen, benötigen Sie eine entsprechende
Freischaltung Ihres Netzanbieters.
3. Verbinden Sie zum Schluss Ihr Palladio-USB Modem an die USB-Schnittstelle Ihres Computers (falls Sie Probleme
haben die USB-Schnittstelle zu erkennen, schauen Sie bitte im Handbuch Ihres PC’s nach).
MASKINVARUINSTALLATION
Ta ut modemet ur kartongen och kontrollera att det är helt. Följ sedan anvisningarna nedan:
1. Anslut miniDIN-kabeln (6 stift) till Palladio USB-kontakten. Se till att ansluta kabeln på rätt sätt. På kontakten sitter det
en mekanisk nyckel som hindrar felaktig anslutning (Bild 1).
2. Anslut kabeln till din GSM-telefon. Obs! För att du ska kunna skicka data och fax från din GSM-telefon, måste tjänsterna
aktiveras aktiveras av din GSM-operatör (Bild 2).
3. Anslut USB-kabeln till datorns USB-kontakt. Om du är osäker på var USB-kontakten sitter, kan du ta hjälp av
dokumentationen som följde med datorn (Bild 3).

1. Dopo aver collegato Palladio USB
Windows 98®, vi informerà che una
nuova periferica “Plug & Play “ è stata
rilevata.
La presenza di tale dispositivo sarà
evidenziata dalla seguente schermata:

2. Selezionate Avanti.
2. Click Next.

premete Avanti.
3. SelectSearch for the best driver for
your device and click Next.
3. WählenSiedie Option “Nach dembesten
Treiber für das Gerät suchen
(empfohlen).” Klicken Sie auf Weiter.

4. Nel caso sia presente un floppy disk con
i driver, Selezionate Unità Floppy.
Nota:nel caso in cui NON fosseil presente
il floppy, i driver saranno presenti nel
CD-ROM allegato.
- Selezionate Specificare un
percorso,
- Selezionate Sfoglia.
- Cercate all’interno del CD-ROM la
directory Driver\ USB\ Win98\ Palladio
USB,
- Selezionate Avanti.
4. Select Floppy disk drivers.
Note: in case the floppy disk is not
available, select Specify a location click
Browse and look forthedirectoryDriver/
USB/Win98/PalladioUSB in the CD-ROM
included in the package.
4. Sollte eine Treiber-Diskette mitgeliefert
werden, legen Sie Diese in das
Diskettenlaufwerkein,undklickenSiedas
Kästchen “Disketten-Laufwerk” an.
Falls keine Diskette mitgeliefert wurde,
sind die benötigten Treiber auf der
beigelegten CD-ROM.
- WählenSie “BittegebenSie einePosition
an”.
- Wälen Sie “Durchsuchen”.
- Suchen Sie in der CD-ROM das
Verzeichnis Driver\USB\Win98\Palladio
USB.
- Klicken Sie auf Weiter.

5. SelezionateAvanti.

Fine.

durante la fase d’installazione. E’ una situazione del tutto normale.

18.A questo punto chiudete le finestre, siete pronti a utilizzare il vostro Palladio USB.
18.Close the Control Panel: you are ready to use your Palladio USB.
18.Jetzt können Sie alle Fenster schliessen. Ihr Palladio USB Modem ist jetzt zur Benützung bereit.

1. Per Disinstallare Palladio USB andate sul
menù Impostazioni, Pannello di
controllo, Installazione applicazioni.

HOW TO USE PALLADIO USB WITH NON TAPI APPLICATION
WIE BENUTZE ICH DAS PALLADIO USB MODEM MIT WINPHONE ODER EINER NICHT TAPI-
KOMPATIBLEN ANWENDUNG
Per utilizzare Palladio USB con Winphone o programmi dati/fax che non utilizzano le TAPI di Windows® è
necessarioprocedereallaconfigurazione“manuale”deldriverGSM.Questaoperazionesiesegueutilizzando
il programma SetGSM fornito a corredo del Palladio USB (se non presente nel floppy controllate sul CD-
ROM).
Nota: Per l’utilizzo del SetGSM con porte USB deve essere utilizzata la versione 2.0 o superiore.
Palladio USB can work with data/fax non-TAPI application as WinPhone or others. In this case you need to
select the correct GSM driver using the utility SetGSM (rel 2.0 or later) available in the CD-ROM included in
the package.
Run SetGSM, it detect automatically the hardware installed scanning the serial ports.
UmdasPalladioUSB Modem mit Winphone oder Fax- und Datenanwendungen die nicht die TAPI-Schnittstelle
von Windows benutzen muss der Treiber mittels einer separaten Anwendung “SetGSM” manuell konfiguriert
werden. Das Programm “SetGSM” das entweder auf der Diskette oder der CD-ROM befindet.
Note: Stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie die Version 2.0 oder höher benutzen.
Una volta individuato il modem potrete selezionare il Driver GSM relativo al vostro telefono cellulare GSM.
Attualmente Palladio USB supporta i seguenti telefoni cellulari GSM:

lDopo aver collegato Palladio USB, Mac/OS vi informerà che una nuova periferica è stata rilevata.
lAfter the hardware installation, the MacOS detect automatically the new presence of the new hardware.
lAprès l'installation matérielle de votre boîtier, Mac OS détecte automatiquement sa présence.
lUna vez finalizada la instalación del hardware, el MacOS detectará automáticamente la presencia de un
nuevo dispositivo.
lNach dem Verbinden des Modems wird das MACOS eine neue Hardware finden.
lNär du har installerat enheten, identifieras den automatiskt av Mac OS.

USBPalladio extension file to the System folder.

déposez sur votre dossier Système.

7. Trascinate l’estensione di Palladio USB relativa al vostro telefono cellulare
GSM (es. Ericsson T18s) nella Cartella Sistema e confermate la copia.
7. Drag and drop the Palladio USB driver for your GSM phone (i.e. Ericsson
T18) to the System Folder and confirm the copy.
7. Glissez/ déposez le pilote Palladio USBde votretéléphone GSM(c’est àdire
Ericsson T18) dans le Dossier Système et confirmer.
7. Arrastre y suelte el driver Palladio USB para su teléfono GSM (i.e. Ericsson
T18) en la Carpeta del Sistema y confirmar la copia.
7. Ziehen Sie die Palladio USB Modem Erweiterung die Ihrem GSM-Telefon
entspricht(z.B. Ericsson T18s)indenOrdner System undbestätigenSie das
Kopieren.
7. Dradrivrutinen PalladioUSBsomhör tillGSM-telefonen(t.ex. EricssonT18)
till mappen Tillägg i systemmappen.

8. Chiudete tutte le cartelle e Riavviate il Macintosh®.
8. Close all and reboot the computer.
8. Fermez tout et redémarrez votre Macintosh.
8. Cierre todo y r einicie su ordenador.
8. Schliessen Sie alle Fenster und starten Sie Ihren Macintosh neu.
8. Stäng alla fönster och starta om datorn.
9. Dopo aver riavviato, Palladio USB verrà inizializzato dal sistema operativo.
La corretta inizializzazione viene segnalata dall’accensione del led.
9. At the next boot Palladio USB will be initialized from the Operating System.
If the initialization is OK, the red LED on Palladio USB will be ON.
9. Au prochain démarrage le Palladio USB sera initialisé par Mac OS. Si l'initialisation
est OK, la petite lumière rouge du boîtier Palladio USB s'allumera.
