Perfect for the holidays, this cheery Music Box plays “Jingle Bells” and lights
twinkle when you activate your switch. If you prefer, you can also record over
that song with your own 20-second holiday tune by simply pressing the
record button and your switch and placing the mic near your speaker. Size:
5"L x 5"W x 5"H. Requires 4 AA Batteries. Weight: ½ lb.
Operation:
. The Holiday Music Box requires 4 AA batteries (Not included
Alkaline batteries must be used (e.g. Duracell or Energizer Brands).
Do not use rechargeable batteries because they supply a lower
voltage and the unit may not perform as well. Never mix old and new
batteries together or different brands or types together.
2. The battery compartment is located under the unit. Carefully turn the
unit over. Remove the battery covers screw by turning it
counterclockwise with a Phillips head screwdriver. Install batteries,
being careful to observe proper battery polarity.
3. Replace the battery case cover and secure with the screw. Do not
over-tighten.
4. Turn the unit on by turning the ON/OFF/VOLUME knob located on
the back of the unit. You will hear an audible click when the unit turns
on. Playback volume can be adjusted using this knob.
5. Plug in any capability switch into the /8" jack to hear this cheery
Music Box play “Jingle Bells” while lights twinkle when you activate
your switch. If you prefer, you can also record over that song with
your own 20-second holiday tune.
6. Make sure that you have your switch plugged in all the way. There
should be no gaps.
7. To record, simply press and hold the “RECORD” button on the back
panel of the unit first, then press down your own switch. While
continuing to hold the record button and your switch, speak your
message. Your mouth should be about 6 inches from the
microphone when recording. Release both the record button and
your switch when you finish recording.
8. To play back your message, simply activate your switch. It is not
necessary to continue holding your switch when listening to the
message. The unit will continue to playback the entire message,
even if pressure on your switch is released.
9. The unit will retain recorded information indefinitely, even if the
batteries are disconnected. Previously stored information will be
erased only when a new recording is performed.
Important Note:
The memory of this unit is capable of holding up to a total of 20 seconds of
speech information.
Troubleshooting:
Problem: The unit fails to operate, or operates incorrectly.
Action #1: Disconnect the power by removing one of the batteries for 20
seconds in order to reset the unit. Re-install the batteries. If the unit does not
work correctly, replace all the batteries paying careful attention to proper
polarity.
Action #2: Make sure that you have the unit turned on and the volume
turned up to an audible volume.
Action #3: Make sure that you are holding both the record button and your
switch SIMULTANEOUSLY while you are recording.
Action#4: Try the Holiday Music Box with another external capability switch
to rule it out as the source of the problem.
Action #4: Make sure that there is nothing covering the Mic
Problem: The unit is playing old messages fine, but will not record new
messages.
Action #1: Check your batteries – There is a 99% chance that either one is
installed incorrectly and/or one is weak/dead.
Care of Unit:
The Holiday Music Box can be wiped clean with any household multi-
purpose cleaner and disinfectant. We recommend Simple Green, which is a
non toxic biodegradable all-purpose cleaner.
Do not submerge the unit, as this could damage the electrical components.
Do not use abrasive cleaners, as they will scratch the surface of the unit.
