Arm:
To arm all sensors in AWAY mode when you are leaving the premises, enter your code + [2].
To arm in STAY mode when you are not leaving the premises, enter your code + [3].
Disarm:
To disarm, enter your [security code] + [1].

Bypass Protected Areas
Bypassing a zone allows you to arm your system with certain protected areas intentionally
unarmed or to access a protected area when the system is armed.
To bypass a zone, enter your [security code] + [6] + [two-digit zone number].
To unbypass a zone,§ repeat the bypass procedure or arm and disarm your system.

Chimes and Beeps
When your system is in chime mode, a chime alert will sound three tones whenever a
protected door/window is opened.
To turn the door chime function on and off, enter your security code + [9].
Toggle between On and Off.

Reset
To clear the display after an alarm event, arm and disarm your system.
Security Codes
Your system allows for additional users, however a user may not delete or change the user
code of the same or higher authority than which they are assigned. For example, a Master user
may only add users to a lower authority level. To change a user’s authority level, that use must
first be deleted and then added again. A user can only be deleted or changed from the within
the partition they are assigned.
To add a user, enter your [Master code] + [8] + 3-digit [new user number] + [new user’s 4-
digit code].
A prompt [ADD NEW USER?] will ask you if the user is new.

A prompt [USER NUMBER ENTER AUTH.LEVEL] will ask you to enter the new user’s
authority level (1-6). Refer to the chart below for User Authority Levels.
If your system has been supplied with a 5800 series button transmitter a prompt [RF
BUTTON?] will ask you if you would like to assign a button one to this user.
If you have assigned a button transmitter, a prompt [ENTER BUTTON ZN#] will ask you to
enter the button’s zone number.
If you yourself have access to other partitions, a prompt [MUTLI-ACESS?] will ask you if
you would like for the new user to have access those same partitions.
A prompt [GLOBAL ARM?] will ask you if you would like for this user to be able to globally
arm, i.e., able to arm more than one partition at the same time.
A prompt [PART 2-SHOP?] will ask you if the user should have access to the next partition.
The keypad will display the new user access information.
To change a user code, enter the [master code] + [8] + [user number to be changed].
Enter the new user code for that user.
To delete a user, enter your [Master code] + [8] + [user number to be deleted]. Wait
approximately three seconds for the keypad to verify.

Same as Operator A, except Operator B cannot bypass zones of protection. [4]

C
Can arm the system in assigned partitions but cannot disarm the system
unless the system was armed with this code. This code is typically assigned
to a trusted person who may need to arm/disarm the system at certain
times, i.e., a babysitter.

Duress
Using this code to arm or disarm the system will send a silent panic alarm to
the central monitoring station, if that service is connected. [6]
Level 7
Limited
Use
Can arm and disarm the system, but only for a predetermined number of
times, after which, this code automatically expires. [7]

Trouble Conditions
Trouble conditions are indicated by the word CHECK and continual beeping from the touchpad.
Any key will silence the beeping. A display of CHECK + zone no. may indicate that a problem
requires your attention. Check the specified zone area, close any open doors or windows and
enter your security code and press [OFF]. If your system includes wireless sensors, the CHECK
condition may be caused by some change in the environment of the protected area.
To silence trouble beeps, press any key or enter your security code and press [OFF].

Volume
The volume on the First Alert 1220CV is not adjustable.
