General1.1.
The manufacturer accepts no liability whatsoever for loss or injury caused by failing to strictly adhere to the
safety guidelines and instructions in this manual or due to carelessness during installation, use, maintenance
and repair of the unit referred to in this manual and any of its accessories.
The unit may be operated by qualified and authorised persons only. Anyone working on or with this unit must
be familiar with the contents of this manual and carefully follow all guidelines and instructions. Never change
the order of the steps to be performed.
The management must instruct the personnel on the basis of this manual and follow all instructions and regula-
tions.
CE Mark1.2.
The unit was built in accordance with European Guidelines and standards as specified in the CE declaration
delivered with your unit.
To ensure its proper functioning, use the unit solely in accordance with its purposes as stated in NEN-EN-ISO
12100-1. In this standard ‘intended use’ means the use for which this technical unit is suitable in accordance
with the technical specifications of the manufacturer inclusive of the directions in the sales brochure.
In case of doubt this is the use which can be deducted as being normal use from the construction, the model
and the function of the technical unit. Operating the unit within the limits of its intended use also involves fol-
lowing the instructions in the user manual and observing the inspection and maintenance conditions.

Prevent already grilled products from coming into contact with raw products again to avoid transmitting•

Do not touch grilled products with hands or tools that have been in contact with raw meat. First thoroughly•
clean hands and/or tools that have touched raw meat.
Service, maintenance and repairs1.7.
Regularly clean the unit to ensure its continued proper functioning.
WARNING
Clean the unit daily. Observe the maintenance intervals (see chapter 7).•
Follow the instructions regarding what to do in case of malfunction (see chapter 8).•

Do not clean the unit using a water hose.
This manual clearly makes a distinction between service, maintenance and repair activities that
can be carried out by the user and those that exclusively are to be carried out by qualified and
authorised service engineers.

All packaging materials are suitable for re-use. Do not dispose of the packaging material with
the industrial waste.

Description of the unit2.
Operation2.1.
The unit makes use of a combination of direct infrared rays and convection heat. The radiated heat seals the
meat and provides a crispy brown crust. The convection heat cooks the meat. The fans evenly distribute the
heat while cooling the outer walls at the same time.
The heating elements and the quartz lamp are repeatedly switched on and off in order to maintain the set tem-
perature during the grilling process. The quartz lamp on the customer side stays on during the entire grilling
process.
The unit is driven by a maintenance-free motor with a reductor.
The grill has an intelligent control that allows storage of up to 250 programs. Each program can consist of a
pre-heating step and another 9 steps for which the grilling time, the temperature and the fan speed can be set.
When a program has been fully completed and the setting is no longer subject to change, the control will ap-
ply an automatic grilling time correction at every next run of the grilling program in order to obtain the same
result time and time again. The oven determines by how much the set grilling time must be increased or decre-
ased on the basis of the temperature development during the grilling process. In this way the same final result
will always be obtained, independent of the load of the grill and/or whether the products were defrosted when
the grilling was started.
A large number of settings and the grilling programs can be secured against changing by means of a password.
Intended use2.2.
WARNING
The oven is exclusively intended for the following processes:

The processes are program-controlled (see chapter 5).
Any other use shall be considered to be not in conformity with the intended use. The manufacturer accepts
no liability whatsoever with regard to loss or injury that may be the consequence hereof. The unit was built in
accordance with European Guidelines and standards as specified in the CE declaration delivered with your unit.
Use the unit solely in a technically perfect condition and in conformity with the intended use described above.

The control panel comes in two versions with different texts at the operating buttons. However, the functions
of the buttons are the same.

The turning knob is used to:

Installation3.
WARNING
Have an authorised installer position and install the unit.
Unpacking3.1.
1. Check the contents and the volume of the delivery. Contact the dealer if the contents are incomplete.
The contents include the following parts:
  • Oven
  • UsermanualandCEdeclaration
  • 6ne-meshedbakingracks
2. Remove all parts from the unit.
3. Remove all packaging materials from the unit.
4. Remove the foil from all metal parts.
5. Inspect the unit and the parts for damage.
6. Carefully read the whole manual before proceeding.
Installation3.2.
WARNING
Use suitable hoisting, lifting and transport devices for handling the unit.•
Put the brake unto the wheels of the unit or the base when the unit is on the right place.•
Make sure there is a clearance of at least 100 mm between the sides and other equipment or•
walls.
Make sure there is a clearance of at least 100 mm between the back and other equipment or•
walls.
Make sure there is a clearance of at least 500 mm above the oven.•
Do not place racks with hot products against the side walls of the oven or on top of the•
oven.
Position the unit flatly on a sufficiently sturdy base using a spirit level. Take the weight of•
the unit into account.
The opening between the unit and the table surface must be free from obstacles to ensure•
good ventilation in the electrical compartment.
WARNING
Have an authorised installer install the wall socket.
Follow the procedure below when storing a unit that will not be used for some time:
Thoroughly clean the unit.•
Package the unit dustproof.•
Store the unit in a dry place.•
Find a suitable place for the unit. Points of interest:
The surface has to be level. The surface must be able to bear the weight of the unit.•
Keep 750 mm free space on the front side of the oven for unloading products.•
Make sure there is sufficient room to operate and maintain the unit.•

Ensure the unit’s accessibility for maintenance and service activities.•
The opening between the unit and the table surface must be free from obstacles to ensure good ventilation•
in the electrical compartment.
The products in the unit must be clearly visible.•
Do not allow children within reach of the operator side.•
The environmental temperature must be between 10 and 30 °C. The unit is not suitable for outside use.•
There should be at least 100 mm (4 inch) clearance between the unit and any walls at the sides or back.•
The unit is not suitable for use in a rainy or damp environment.•
There has to be a wall socket nearby. The wall socket has to comply with the technical specifications of the•
unit.
Cleaning3.3.
WARNING
Slide the grease tray completely into the unit after putting it back to avoid damage to the win-
dow.
1. Clean the inside using a cleaning agent.
2. Clean the removable parts.
3. Clean the accessories.
4. Remove the soapsuds from the grease tray.
5. Remove the residual soapsuds from the inside, removable parts and accessories using a damp cloth.
6. Dry the inside, removable parts and accessories.
Assemble3.4.
1. Place the bottom plates into the unit.
2. Place the rotor into the unit.
3. Insert the spits into the rotor discs.

Warm through3.5.
Warm through the unit to remove the metal odour. Warming through takes 30 minutes.
1. First read the entire manual.
2. Insert the plug into the socket.
3. Set the on/off switch to 1.
4. Press ON/OFF for 3 seconds to switch on the unit.
5. Press OK to show the menu.
6. Make a new program of one step with a temperature of 250 °C and a duration of at least 30 minutes.
(See chapter 6)
7. Press START/STOP and let the unit complete the entire program.

Operation4.
WARNING
Regularly empty the grease tray to avoid overflow.•
Do not grill frozen products.•
Slide the grease tray completely into the unit after putting it back to avoid damage to the•
window.
WARNING
Never touch the interior of the grill when it is hot without protecting your hands. Use oven•
gloves.
During use, the temperature in the grill may be 250 degrees centigrade. This high tempera-•
ture can cause certain substances and types of fabric that are too close to the heat source to
inflame spontaneously.
Never open the door of a hot grill while wearing loose clothing.•
Do not operate the grill while wearing your hair loose!•
Use fresh products.•
Preferably grill whole chickens on the spits.•
See Annex A for a complete overview of the grilling times and the use of seasonings.•
The unit may be assembled with another unit by placing them on top of each other. In this case each unit requi-
res individual operation.
Grilling process4.1.

Pre-heating is not required, except for roast beef.
The grilling times depend on the following factors:

Seasonings4.1.2.
The use of herbs and seasoning adds a specific twist to every meal. Using them right is of great importance for
the end result.
Guidelines for seasoning are:
Preferably use the special chicken and meat seasonings of the supplier of the Fri-Jado Grill. There are special•
seasoning mixtures for poultry, lamb, pork, large meat, game and fish.
Season the products to be grilled when dry.•
Season the products 90 minutes before grilling at the most to prevent the spices from abstracting too much•
fluid from the meat.
Do not add oil or grease while grilling.•
Season chicken on the inside and on the outside.•
Switch the unit on and off4.2.
Switching on4.2.1.
Set the main switch to ‘1’ if the unit has a main switch.
Press ON/OFF for 2 seconds.
Switching off4.2.2.
Simultaneously press ON/OFF and the right-hand selection key for a few seconds.
Set the main switch to ‘0’ if the unit has a main switch.
Programs4.3.
Start a program4.3.1.
1. Press the left-hand selection key.
2. Select the program. The total duration of the
program is shown in minutes beside the name of
the program.
3. Press START/STOP.

Pre-heat (option)4.3.2.
When the pre-heating step has been activated in the
manager menu and the grilling temperature is too
low, the control will first warm up the unit to the cor-
rect temperature.
The display will give the actual temperature (right)
and the set pre-heating temperature (left). Once the
set pre-heating temperature has been reached, there
will be a sound signal and the unit can be loaded.
Loading a product4.3.3.
WARNING
Evenly spread the products in the oven.•
Do not have empty spits, baskets, chicken racks and the like rotate along while grilling.•
Have the rotor always rotate at least 1 time after loading and check whether the products in•
the grill can rotate freely.
Hold the grip with both hands when opening and closing the door.•
1. Open the door.
2. Load the unit
3. Close the door.
4. Press OK to resume the process.
Spits
1. Stick one point of the spit at the place of the wings
through the chest. Stick the other point through
the thighs (see illustration). Do not forget to skewer
the wings along.
2. Leave some space between the chickens.
In this way the entire chicken will brown evenly.
3. Position the spits in the rotor discs in such a way,
that the breast of the chicken is turned towards the
customer while grilling.

4. Insert the points of the spit into the holes of the
rotor disc (see illustration). Insert the other end
into the corresponding holes of the opposite disc.
5. Press ROTOR ROTATION to make the rotor rotate.
6. Position the other spits.
Meat baskets/chicken racks (accessory)
STG 7:
1. Hang the ends of the meat baskets/chicken racks
on the pins on the rotor discs (see illustration).
2. Fill the baskets/racks such, that the grill is evenly
loaded and no meat parts are sticking out of the
baskets/racks.
STG 5:
1. Insert the longest point of the meat basket/chic-
ken rack into one of the outermost holes of the
rotor disc, just like when using a spit. Insert the
other end into the corresponding hole of the
opposite disc.
Turkey spit (accessory)
1. Apply a spit clamp to the turkey spit.
2. Stick the point of the turkey spit lengthwise through the turkey.
3. Apply the other spit clamp and press both clamps into the turkey.
4. Apply the bearing piece.
5. Firmly tighten the wing nuts.
6. Remove the rotor disc and its shaft.
7. Position the turkey spit into the grill.
Use two accessories
1. When the grill is used with two different accessories at the same time, position one accessory less into the
rotor than the maximum number.
2. Position the accessories of the same kind successively.
Example

Close the door after having loaded the products.
Press ‘start’ to start grilling.

While grilling4.3.4.
While grilling the display shows a diagram with the
planned variation in temperature (orange line) and
the actual variation (light orange area).
The name of the program and the total duration are
given below the diagram.
The actual temperature inside the grill and the remai-
ning time are shown at the bottom of the display.
When the process correction has been switched on,
the total time and the remaining time can be adjus-
ted.
Add extra time to the active program4.3.5.
It is possible to add extra time during the process; fol-
low these steps:
1. Press OK.
2. Set extra time with the turning knob.
3. With the arrow toward the right choose ‘save’.
4. Press OK.
The extra time is now displayed. This will be added to
the last baking step The display always shows the total
extra time.

Cancel a program4.3.6.
Temporarily cancel a program
1. Press START/STOP.
2. Press START/STOP again to resume the program.
Definitely cancel a program
1. Press CANCEL.
2. Select ‘yes’.
3. Press OK.
The timer function4.3.7.
The grill has a timer that makes it possible to start a
program at a date and time set in advance. The timer
can be set maximally 14 days in advance. In order to
be able to use this function, the option ‘timer func-
tion’ must have been enabled.
For setting, changing or looking at the timer, go to
the program ‘timer:*off*” when the timer has not
been set yet and to ‘timer:<program name> if the
timer has been set and press OK.
First activate the timer by selecting the menu item
‘timer function’ and pressing OK.
Change the value from ‘off’ into ‘on’ using the turning
knob and press OK.
Then select the new program by selecting the ‘pro-
gram’ menu and pressing OK. Select the required
program from the list and press OK.

Select the menu ‘set time’ and press OK to set the time
on which the program has to start. Confirm the set
time by pressing OK.
Select the ‘Set date’ menu to indicate the day on
which the program has to start and press OK. Set the
required day using the left and right arrow keys and
press OK to set the date.
Save the settings after all settings have been entered
correctly. Select the ‘save’ menu item and press OK.
Switching off the timer function must be saved as
well.
After having set the timer, a clock will blink in the left
upper corner of the display.
Unload product4.3.8.
WARNING
Never touch the interior of the oven when it is hot without protecting your hands. Use oven•
gloves.
Hold the grip with both hands when opening and closing the door.•
The program goes to standby after having performed the program.
An alarm signal will sound if this has been set. This signal can be stopped by pressing OK.
Remove the spits
1. Firmly hold the spit.
2. Lift the side with the recesses and move the spit into the direction of the points. This will release the spit.
3. Also take hold of the other side of the spit and remove it.
4. Slide the meat products off the spit.
Remove the meat baskets/chicken racks (accessory)
1. Lift the meat basket/chicken rack on both sides.
2. Move the meat basket/chicken to the right or left side. This will release one side of the meat basket/chicken
rack.
3. Move the released side forward and remove the meat basket/chicken rack.
Remove the turkey spit (accessory)
1. Lift the turkey spit on the insert bearing side.
2. Move the released side forward and remove the turkey spit.
Automatic switch-off4.4.
If no programme is active and no button has been pressed for 60 minutes, the STG switches off automatically.
Press and hold ON/OFF for 2 seconds to switch on the STG. This option can be deactivated or adjusted by a ser-
vice mechanic.
