wir danken Ihnen für den Kauf dieses Qualitätsproduktes. Bitte lesen Sie diese
Anleitung zunächst vor Inbetriebnahme sorgfältig durch. Beachten Sie insbesondere die
Vorsichtshinweise. Unsere Service-Informationen finden Sie am Schluss dieser
Anleitung.
Den Aktenvernichter aufstellen:
1. Den Aktenvernichter sicher oben auf einen Papierkorb setzen. Achten Sie abei arauf,
ass Sie Ihre Finger nicht zwischen em Oberran es Papierkorbes un en Reißwolf
einklemmen.
Wichtiger Hinweis:
Das Gerät ist mit einem Auslösemechanismus versehen, er eine Funktion es Gerätes
verhin ert, wenn ieses nicht or nungsgemäß auf em mitgelieferten Papierkorb
betrieben wir . Das Gerät muss bün ig mit em Ran es Papierkorbes abschließen.

Sollte ies nicht er Fall sein, setzen Sie as Gerät erneut auf en Papierkorb o er
setzen es auf em gegenüberliegen en Ran auf. Sie hören ein leises Klicken.
2. Den Netzstecker an eine übliche 220-240-Volt-Wechselstrom-Steck ose anschließen.
Den Aktenvernichter in Betrieb nehmen:
Der Schalter befin et sich oben auf em Gerät un kann in rei (3) Positionen gestellt wer en.
1. AUTO-Position: er Schnei evorgang wir automatisch gestartet, sobal as zu
vernichten e Papier, CD/DVD o er eine Kre itkarte in ie entsprechen e Eingabeöffnung
eingeführt wir .
Führen Sie bitte keine CD/DVD o er Kre itkarten in ie Eingabeöffnung ein, währen Sie
Papier zerkleinern. Bitte achten Sie auch arauf, ass as Gerät, währen Sie eine
CD/DVD o er Kre itkarte vernichten, nicht gleichzeitig Papier vernichten kann.
Sobal as zu vernichten e Material komplett urch as Schnei ewerk gezogen wur e,
stoppt er Schnei evorgang automatisch.
2. REV ient zum Entfernen eines Papierstaus. Hier wir ie Laufrichtung es
Schnei evorgangs vor em Been en eines Arbeitszyklus’ umgekehrt, um ie
Schnei klingen zu befreien. Sollten Sie feststellen, ass zuviel Papier eingeführt wur e
un er Zerkleinerungsvorgang sich spürbar verlangsamt, stellen Sie en Schalter sofort
auf iese Position, ebenso, falls versehentlich Papier eingeführt wur e.

3. Zum Leeren es Papierkorbes o er falls as Gerät über eine längere Zeit nicht benutzt
wir , sollte er Schalter auf OFF gestellt un as Gerät vom Stromnetz getrennt wer en.
Dieses Gerät ist nur für den privaten Gebrauch in geschlossenen Räumen und für
einen Kurzzeitbetrieb von 2 inuten konstruiert. Verwenden Sie den Aktenvernichter
nicht im gewerblichen Bereich und nicht im Freien.
Kapazität des Aktenvernichters:
Der 580 XCD schnei et bis zu 10 Blatt Papier (DIN A4, 80g/m²). Die Papierbreite kann bis zu
22cm betragen. Beim Zerkleinern von kleinen Papieren, wie beispielsweise Briefumschlägen

Dieser Aktenvernichter ist mit einem separaten Schnei werk für CDs/DVDs un Kre itkarten
ausgestattet. CDs/DVDs wer en in 3 Teile zerschnitten. Da bei iesen Materialien immer ie
Gefahr es Splitterns besteht, halten Sie Ihr Gesicht beim Einführen von CDs/DVDs in
ausreichen em Abstan . Das Schnittgut wir in einem separaten Auffangbehälter gesammelt
un erleichtert somit ie umweltgerechte Entsorgung!

1. Halten Sie alle losen Gegenstän e, wie z. B. Klei ungsstücke, Krawatten, Schmuck,

2. Stellen Sie en Schalter auf OFF, falls er Aktenvernichter über eine längere Zeit nicht
benutzt wir .
3. Entfernen Sie alle Büroklammern un Heftklammern vor em Einführen es Papiers.
Das Gerät kann zwar Heftklammern zerkleinern, was je och nicht empfohlen wir .
4. Halten Sie Ihre Finger un Hän e stets fern von er Eingabeöffnung, um ernsthafte
Verletzungen zu vermei en.
5. Das Gerät sollte möglichst in er Nähe einer leicht zugänglichen Wan steck ose
aufgestellt wer en.
6. Vor em Bewegen, Transportieren un Reinigen es Geräts o er vor em Leeren es
Papierkorbs muss er Aktenvernichter stets ausgeschaltet un vom Stromnetz getrennt
wer en.

7. Den Papierkorb häufig leeren. Ansonsten kann as Schnei ewerk verstopfen.
8. Bitte lassen Sie en Aktenvernichter nicht unbeaufsichtigt, z. B. wenn sich Kin er o er
Haustiere in er Nähe befin en.
9. Öffnen Sie niemals as Gehäuse, bei Problemen wen en Sie sich bitte an en Hän ler,
bei em Sie ieses Gerät gekauft haben o er an unsere Hotline.
10. Mit beschä igtem Stromkabel arf as Gerät nicht betrieben wer en.
11. Nur für Innengebrauch.
12. Dieses Gerät ist kein Spielzeug. Halten Sie Kin er un Haustiere von iesem Gerät
fern.
13. Bitte zerkleinern Sie nicht zur gleichen Zeit Kre itkarten un CD/DVDs mit Papier.
14. Das Gerät ist nicht für en Dauerbetrieb ausgelegt: nach 2 Minuten Betrieb bitte as
Gerät eine Stun e abkühlen lassen.
Schutz vor Papierstaus und Überlastungen:
Der 580 XCD ist mit einem Motoren-Überlastungsschutz ausgestattet. Der normale
Arbeitszyklus für en Schnei evorgang bei maximaler Belastung auert 2 Minuten, Unter en
folgen en Be ingungen wir ie Stromzufuhr zum Motor es Geräts unterbrochen:
1. Kontinuierlicher Betrieb es Aktenvernichters mit maximaler Kapazität über eine längere
Zeit auer, z. B. länger als 2 Minuten ohne Unterbrechung.

ergreifen Sie bitte folgen e Maßnahmen:
1. Reißen Sie nun überflüssiges Papier von oben vom Schnei werk ab o er entfernen Sie
es.
2. Den Netzstecker wie er an ie Wechselstrom-Steck ose anschließen un en Schalter in
ie REV-Position stellen. Ziehen Sie as verbleiben e Papier von en Schnei klingen
weg. Stellen Sie anach en Schalter zurück in ie AUTO-Position. Wenn nötig,
wie erholen Sie iesen Vorgang.
3. Mit em Schalter in er AUTO-Position un er freien Eingabeöffnung können Sie en
normalen Schnei evorgang nun fortsetzen.

Dear customer,
Thank you for purchasing this GENIE quality product. Please carefully read the
operating instructions prior to the initial operation and keep them handy for future
reference.
Please pay particular attention to the following safety information. If you have any
questions or complaints about the device, please refer to the service information at the
end of these instructions.
Setup:
1. Place the CD/DVD & Cre it car shre ing plastic bin provi e with your shre er, insi e
the appropriate rib position attache to the insi e of waste bin.
2. Place the shre er securely on top of the wastebasket. Be sure not to allow your fingers to
get between the basket an the shre er as you are placing the shre er in place.
3. Plug the power cor into any stan ar 220-240 volt AC outlet.
Operating the shredder:
The Main Switch is locate on the top of the shre er. The Main Switch has three (3)
settings.
1. When AUTO is selecte , the shre ing process is starte automatically by inserting the
paper, a isk or a cre it car into the fee opening. When inserting papers, please o not
shre CD/DVD an cre it car at the same time. When inserting CD/DVD an cre it car ,
also please o not shre paper at that time .The shre er will stop automatically when the
paper, a isk or a cre it car has complete its travel through the fee opening.
2. REV is use to assist in the removal of a paper jam, which reverses the shre er process
prior to a complete cycle, thus clearing the cutters.
3. OFF is use to terminate the AC power to the shre er. The mo e is recommen e when
emptying the wastebasket or when the shre er is not in use for a prolonge perio of
time.
Shredder capacity:

GENIE 580 XCD will shre ten (10) sheets of A4 size 80g/sqm paper, a CD/DVD isk or cre it
car at once an will accept paper wi ths up to 220mm. When shre ing small material like
envelopes or receipts, insert them through the mi le of the fee opening.
Cautions:
1. Keep all loose articles of clothing, ties , jewelry , hair or other small items
away from the fee opening to prevent injury.
2. Keep in the OFF position when the shre er is not in use for prolonge perio s of time.
3. Remove all paper clips an staples from paper before shre ing. Unit will cut staples,
however it is not recommen e .
4. Do not place han s or fingers into the shre er throat as serious injury coul result.
5. Always turn off or unplug the shre er prior to moving, cleaning or emptying the
wastebasket.
6. Empty wastebasket frequently.

Paper Jams and overload protection:
GENIE 580 XCD is equippe with a motor overloa protection evice. The normal short uty
cycle for continuous shre ing at maximum capacity is 2 minutes. The power may terminate
automatically in case of the following abnormal situations:
1. Operating the shre er at the maximum capacity continuously for a prolonge perio of
time, e.g. more than 2 minutes for computer paper an CD/DVD or cre it car without
stopping.
2. Excee ing the shre ing capacity e.g. inserting more than ten (10) sheets at one pass, or if
the paper is not fe squarely into the fee opening.
Both abnormal operations may result in the activation of the automatic motor overloa
protection, which terminates the power to the unit .If this occurs, you shoul :
1. Unplug the power cor from the AC outlet to allow shre er to cool own. Tear or cut off
any excess paper from the top of the shre er.
2. Plug the power cor back into the AC outlet an place the Switch in REV. Pull the
remaining paper out of the cutters. Place the Switch back to the Auto position if necessary
clear the fee opening of any remaining shre e pieces of paper, Keep fingers away from
fee opening to avoi harm.
3. With the Main Switch in the AUTO position an the fee opening clear, you are now rea y
to resume normal shre ing.

cuidadosamente estas instrucciones antes de utilizar el producto por primera vez.
Preste especial atención a las precauciones. Al final de este manual, encontrará
nuestra información de servicio.
Dónde colocar la destructora de documentos:
1. Coloque la estructora e ocumentos en forma segura sobre una papelera. Tenga
cui a o e no apretarse los e os entre el bor e superior e la papelera y la

Indicación importante:
El aparato está provisto e un mecanismo e esenganche, que evita que el aparato

Cómo poner en funcionamiento la destructora de documentos
El interruptor se encuentra en la parte superior el aparato y pue e colocarse en tres (3)
posiciones.
1. Posición AUTO: el proceso e corte comienza automáticamente en cuanto el papel,
CD/DVD o la tarjeta e cré ito para estruir sean coloca os en la abertura e
alimentación.
No se pue en utilizar las os aberturas e alimentación al mismo tiempo, es ecir, si se
está estruyen o un CD/DVD o una tarjeta e cré ito, no es posible estruir papel.
Una vez finaliza o el proceso e corte, la estructora e ocumentos se esconecta
automáticamente.
2. REV sirve para eliminar atascos e papel. En este caso, antes e que finalice uno e los
ciclos e trabajo se revierte la irección e avance el proceso e corte para liberar las
cuchillas. Si ha coloca o emasia o papel y percibe que el proceso e estrucción se
retar a, coloque el interruptor en esta posición inme iatamente; también proce a e esta
manera, si el papel fue coloca o por error.

3. Para vaciar la papelera o si el aparato no será utiliza o urante un tiempo prolonga o, se
ebe colocar el interruptor en la posición OFF y esconectar el aparato e la re eléctrica.
Este aparato ha sido construido únicamente para ser utilizado con fines privados, en
ambientes cerrados y para un funcionamiento de corta duración de 2 minutos como
máximo. Por lo tanto, no utilice la destructora de documentos con fines comerciales
ni al aire libre.
Capacidad de la destructora de documentos:
El mo elo 580 XCD corta hasta 10 hojas e papel (DIN A4, 80g/m²). El ancho el papel

Dispositivo de corte separado para CDs y tarjetas de crédito:
Esta estructora e ocumentos posee un ispositivo e corte separa o para estrozar CDs o
DVDs y tarjetas e cré ito. Los CDs o DVDs se estruyen en 3 partes. Como con estos
materiales siempre existe el peligro e que salten en pe azos, ca a vez que coloque un CD o
DVD mantenga su rostro a una istancia suficiente. El objeto que ha si o corta o es
almacena o en un recipiente colector separa o, ¡lo que facilita el esecho e resi uos sin
perju icar al me io!
Medidas de prevención:
1. Para evitar años, siempre mantenga cualquier objeto suelto aleja o e la ranura e
alimentación, por ejemplo, partes e su vestimenta, corbatas, alhajas, cabellos u otros
objetos pequeños.
2. Si la estructora e ocumentos no será utiliza a por largo tiempo, coloque el interruptor
en OFF.
3. Antes e colocar el papel, quite to os los sujetapapeles y grapas. Si bien el aparato
pue e triturar grapas, no es recomen able hacerlo.
4. Siempre mantenga sus e os aleja os e la ranura e alimentación para evitar años
serios.
5. En la me i a e lo posible, coloque el aparato cercano a un tomacorriente e pare e
fácil acceso.

6. Antes e mover, transportar y limpiar el aparato o antes e vaciar la papelera, siempre
apague la estructora e ocumentos y esconéctela e la corriente e re .
7. Vacíe la papelera regularmente. De lo contrario, el ispositivo e corte se atascará.
8. No escui e la estructora e ocumentos, si hay niños o animales omésticos próximos
al aparato.
9. Nunca abra la carcasa. En caso e tener problemas, iríjase al comercio en el que ha

Protección contra atascos de papel y sobrecargas:
La estructora 580 XCD ispone e una protección contra sobrecarga el motor. El ciclo
normal e trabajo para un proceso e corte con carga máxima ura os minutos. En las
siguientes con iciones, se interrumpirá el suministro e corriente al motor el aparato:
1. Si la estructora e ocumentos funciona continuamente a su máxima capaci a urante
un tiempo prolonga o, por ejemplo, más e 2 minutos en forma ininterrumpi a.
2. Si se supera la capaci a e corte, por ejemplo, colocan o más e 10 hojas e papel
(80g) en un solo proceso e trabajo, o si el papel no se coloca en la abertura e
alimentación a lo largo. Si se an las con iciones etalla as más arriba, se ispara la
protección automática contra sobrecarga el motor y se interrumpe la alimentación e
corriente el aparato. En este caso, realice lo siguiente:
1. En primer lugar, corte el papel sobrante por encima el ispositivo e corte o quítelo.
2. Conecte el enchufe al tomacorriente e corriente alterna nuevamente y coloque el
interruptor en la posición REV. Quite el papel que que ó en las cuchillas. Luego esplace
el interruptor nuevamente a la posición AUTO. Si es necesario, repita este proce imiento.
3. Una vez que el interruptor esté en la posición AUTO y la ranura e alimentación esté libre,
Uste pue e continuar con el proceso e corte normal.

Posizionamento del trincia-documenti
1. Collocare il trincia- ocumenti in posizione stabile sopra a un cestino. Fare attenzione a
non restare incastrati con le ita tra il bor o superiore el cestino e il trincia- ocumenti.
Indicazione importante
L'apparecchio è otato i un meccanismo che impe isce il funzionamento
ell'apparecchio se questo non viene azionato in mo o corretto insieme al cestino
fornito in otazione. L'apparecchio eve essere serrato fermamente insieme al cestino.
Gli innesti presenti sul cestino si agganciano all'apparecchio e permettono la messa in
funzione. Se ciò non acca e, collocare nuovamente l'apparecchio sul cestino oppure
provare a posizionarlo sul bor o opposto. Si u irà un leggero rumore i clic.
2. Inserire il connettore in una normale presa i corrente a 220-240 volt.
Utilizzo del trincia-documenti
L'interruttore si trova sul lato superiore ell'apparecchio e può essere impostato in tre (3)
posizioni.
1. Posizione AUTO: la proce ura i triturazione si avvia automaticamente non appena si
inserisce nell'apposita apertura il foglio, il CD/DVD o la carta i cre ito a istruggere.
Non è possibile utilizzare contemporaneamente entrambe le aperture i inserimento,
ovvero fintanto che si sta istruggen o un CD/DVD o una carta i cre ito, non è possibile
istruggere alcun foglio.
Al termine ella proce ura i triturazione, il trincia- ocumenti viene isattivato
automaticamente.
2. La posizione REV serve per eliminare un'ostruzione ella carta. Prima i terminare il ciclo
i lavoro, la irezione ella proce ura i triturazione viene invertita per liberare le lame i
taglio. Impostare imme iatamente l'interruttore in questa posizione quan o ci si accorge
che sono stati intro otti troppi fogli e che la proce ura i triturazione risulta notevolmente
rallentata, oppure quan o è stata intro otta inavvertitamente ella carta.
3. Per svuotare il cestino, o quan o l'apparecchio non viene utilizzato per lunghi perio i,
l'interruttore eve essere impostato su OFF e l'apparecchio scollegato alla rete elettrica.

Questo apparecchio è progettato esclusivamente per uso privato in ambienti chiusi
e per un breve periodo di utilizzo di 2 minuti. Non utilizzare il trincia-documenti in
ambienti industriali e all'aperto.
Capacità del trincia-documenti
Il trincia- ocumenti 580 XCD è in gra o i tagliare fino a 10 fogli i carta (DIN A4, 80g/m²). La
larghezza massima ei fogli supportata è i 22 cm. Quan o si tritura carte i piccole
imensioni, a esempio buste o quietanze i una carta i cre ito, inserirle nel centro
ell'apertura i taglio.
Fare attenzione a non inserire nella taglierina una quantità superiore a quella massima in icata
in prece enza per non anneggiare l'apparecchio.
Taglierina separata per CD e carte di credito
Questo trincia- ocumenti è otato i una taglierina separata per CD/DVD e carte i cre ito. I
CD/DVD vengono tagliati in 3 parti. Poiché con questi materiali esiste sempre il pericolo i
schegge, tenere il viso a una certa istanza quan o si inseriscono i CD/DVD. I prezzi trinciati
vengono raccolti in un apposito contenitore separato, permetten o in questo mo o uno
smaltimento ecologico ei rifiuti.
Misure di sicurezza
1. Tenere lontano all'apertura i inserimento tutti gli oggetti sciolti, come vestiti, cravatte,
gioielli, capelli ecc., per evitare ferimenti.
2. Se non si inten e utilizzare il trincia- ocumenti per un lungo perio o, impostare
l'interruttore su OFF.
3. Rimuovere fermagli e graffette prima i inserire i fogli i carta. L'apparecchio è in gra o i
triturare le graffette, tuttavia ciò non è consigliabile.
4. Tenere sempre le ita e le mani lontano all'apertura i inserimento per evitare gravi
lesioni.
5. Si consiglia i collocare l'apparecchio nelle vicinanze i una presa elettrica a parete
facilmente accessibile.
6. Prima i spostare, trasportare o pulire l'apparecchio o prima i svuotare il cestino è
necessario scollegare il trincia- ocumenti alla rete i alimentazione elettrica.
7. Svuotare i frequente il cestino, altrimenti la taglierina potrebbe ostruirsi.

prolungati, ossia superiori a 2 minuti senza interruzione.
2. Superamento ella capacità i taglio, a esempio con l'intro uzione i più i 10 fogli i
carta (80 g) in un'unica sessione i lavoro oppure nel caso in cui il foglio non venga
intro otto nell'apertura i inserimento nel senso ella lunghezza. Nelle con izioni
prece enti si attiva la protezione automatica a sovraccarichi el motore, interrompen o
l'alimentazione elettrica ell'apparecchio. In questo caso, a ottare i seguenti
provve imenti:
1. Liberare la taglierina strappan o e tiran o verso l'alto la carta in ecce enza.
2. Inserire nuovamente il connettore nella presa i corrente e impostare l'interruttore nella
posizione REV. Rimuovere alla taglierina la carta rimasta, quin i ripristinare l'interruttore
nella posizione AUTO. Se necessario, ripetere questa proce ura.
3. Con l'interruttore nella posizione AUTO e l'apertura i inserimento libera, si può ora
proseguire con la normale proce ura i triturazione.

service, lisez attentivement et jusqu’au bout cette notice. Tenez compte en particulier
des conseils de prudence que nous donnons ci-dessous. Vous trouverez les
informations sur notre service après-vente à la fin de cette notice.
Mise en place de la déchiqueteuse de documents :
1. Posez correctement la échiqueteuse e ocuments au- essus e sa corbeille à
papier. Faites attention e ne pas vous coincer les oigts entre le bor supérieur e la
corbeille à papier et l’effilocheuse.
Consignes essentielles :
L’appareil est équipé ’un mécanisme e blocage qui en empêche le fonctionnement
lorsqu’il n’est pas posé correctement sur la corbeille à papier fournie. Le bor e
l’appareil oit se refermer sur le bor e la corbeille à papier. Les parties e la corbeille
qui ébor ent s’engagent ans l’appareil et le ébloquent. Si l’appareil est mal posé,
reposez-le sur la corbeille à papier ou écalez-le vers le bor opposé. La bonne
position est signalée par un léger éclic.
2. Intro uisez la fiche secteur ans une prise courante e 220 à 240 volts alternatifs.
Mise en service de la déchiqueteuse de documents :
L’interrupteur se trouve au- essus e l’appareil. Il a trois (3) positions.
1. Position AUTO : le échiquetage émarre automatiquement ès vous intro uisez u
papier, un CD, un DVD ou une carte e cré it à étruire ans l’ouverture ’entrée
correspon ante.
Vous ne pouvez pas utiliser simultanément les eux ouvertures. Lorsqu’un CD, un DVD ou
une carte e cré it est en cours e estruction, vous ne pouvez pas étruire u papier et
réciproquement.
Dès qu’elle a fini e étruire ce que vous lui avez confié, la échiqueteuse e ocuments
se coupe automatiquement.
2. Position REV : utilisez cette position pour ébourrer la machine. Elle inverse le sens u
échiquetage avant la fin u cycle e travail e façon à libérer les lames e coupe. Si vous
constatez que vous avez intro uit trop e papier et que le échiquetage ralentit

sensiblement, mettez tout e suite l’interrupteur ans cette position. Procé ez e même si
vous avez intro uit u papier par erreur.
3. Position OFF : utilisez cette position pour vi er la corbeille à papier ou si vous restez un
certain temps sans utiliser l’appareil. Retirez également la fiche e la prise.
Cet appareil n’est conçu que pour un usage privé dans un local fermé et pour des
périodes de fonctionnement qui ne doivent pas dépasser 2 minutes. N’utilisez pas la
déchiqueteuse de documents de façon intensive et jamais à l'extérieur.
Capacité de la déchiqueteuse de documents :
La 580 XCD coupe jusqu’à 10 feuilles e papier (DIN A4, 80g/m²). La largeur u papier peut
attein re 22 cm. Lorsque vous étruisez es feuilles e petites imensions, enveloppes ou
reçus e cartes e cré it, par exemple, intro uisez-les au milieu e l’ouverture.
Evitez soigneusement ’intro uire ans le ispositif e coupe une quantité e papier
supérieure à la quantité maximale in iquée. Vous pourriez en ommager l’appareil.
Unité de coupe séparée pour CD et cartes de crédit:
Cette échiqueteuse e ocuments est équipée ’une unité e coupe séparée pour CD, DVD
et cartes e cré it. Les CD ou DVD sont coupés en 3 morceaux. Attention ! Ces isques
peuvent faire es éclats, lorsque vous intro uisez un CD ou un DVD ans la machine, éloignez
votre visage e la machine. Les morceaux sont collectés ans un récipient séparé. Vous
pouvez onc vous en ébarrasser plus facilement en respectant l’environnement !
Précautions :
1. Tenez-vous à istance es ouvertures : ne vous laissez pas pren re par une manche, les
cheveux, un collier ou un bracelet, une cravate ou ’autres objets, vous pourriez être
blessé.
2. Quan vous n’utilisez pas la échiqueteuse e ocuments pen ant un certain temps,
mettez son interrupteur sur OFF.
3. Avant ’intro uire u papier, retirez-en trombones et agrafes. Il n’est pas recomman é e
faire couper es agrafes à l’appareil, même s’il le peut.
4. N’approchez pas vos mains ni vos oigts e l’ouverture ’entrée. Vous pourriez vous
blesser sérieusement.
5. Posez e préférence l’appareil à proximité ’une prise facilement accessible.
6. Avant e éplacer, transporter ou nettoyer la échiqueteuse e ocuments ou e vi er sa
corbeille à papier, mettez-la toujours hors tension et ébranchez-la.
