A new generation of wireless LAN solutions is now
allowing dynamic mobile work forces the freedom to be
productive from any location in their company. A wireless
LAN standard called IEEE 802.11b has emerged,
delivering speeds of up to 11 Mbps and the ability to
create wireless LANs that stretch from one end of the
company to another. This Hawking NK340W Compact
Wireless Access Point and Wireless USB Adapter combo
is designed to help you start your wireless network without
having to open up your PC. The products in the NK340W
(WA300 and WU250) are compliant with the IEEE 802.11b
standard and can work with a multi-vendor Wireless LAN
platform.
Fast, Reliable and Secure
The Hawking NK340W Wireless Combo delivers network
speeds up to 11Mbps, five times faster than previous
wireless LAN products. Using dynamic rate shifting to
create a reliable connection, each Access Point supports
up to 32 simultaneous users at a distance of up to 1000ft
(300m) for outdoor use and 328ft(100m) for indoor use. It
also features Wires Equivalent Privacy (WEP) -compliant
data encryption using 64/128-bit encryption keys, MAC
Address Control and user authentication to ensure a
secure network connection.
Easy to Install, Use and Manage
The Hawking NK340W is easily installed on your windows
98/2000/ME/XP. Using the managing and wireless utility
software, configuring and adjusting your NK340W is a
piece of cake. The Access Point can automatically identify
the IP and subnet when it is connected to an Ethernet
LAN. Using DHCP servers, the A.P. will automatically
obtain an IP Address to get you “Networking in the Fast
Lane.” All you have to do next is plug in your Wireless
USB Adapter, load the necessary software and get going.

Step 1 –
Connect WA300 Access Point
and WU250 USB Adapter
Plug Power Adapter into WA300
and WU250 and connect it to the
wired Ethernet LAN via a Twisted
Pair cable.
Step 2 –
Install Access Point Manager
and USB Adapter drivers
Insert Access Point Manager
software CD into your Windows
98/2000 or ME computer to install
Access Point Manager.
Step 3 – Configure Access Point and USB adapter
Run Access Point Manager program from your Windows
computer. It will search your Access Point and scan the
Wireless network. It will preset its wireless parameters for your
LAN. Now you are ready to go.
