Fitting Instructions
Thank you for purchasing this HiB Novum product.
Please read through these instructions carefully and refer back to
them during installation to ensure that your product is fitted safely
and that it retains its high quality finish.

• Please read the instructions and warnings carefully before installing the
product and ensure this document is kept with the product for future
reference, to ensure product longevity and in the interest of safety.
• This product is intended for domestic use only.
• Not for use in saunas or steam rooms.
• It is recommended that this product is installed by 2 people who are able
to meet the level of competence required in order to comply with relevant
regulations.
• This product is designed for installation into a brick or masonry block wall. If
mounting onto other substrate, ensure appropriate fixing and batons are used
(if required) and the load bearing of the wall is sufficient.
• When drilling and cutting use appropriate eye protection and wear an
appropriate dust mask.
• Take care when using power tools near water - the use of a residual current
device (RCD) is advised.
• Beware of hidden cables or pipes.
• Take care if drilling on tiled surfaces in case the drill slips.
• Do not overload shelves or unit.
• Do not sit or stand on the unit.
• Ensure that excessive standing and surface water is removed from the product
to avoid long term damage and spoiling.
• Seal all cut edges with a silicone or polyurethane sealant.
• When applying silicone sealant, ensure that the room is well ventilated.

Floor Standing Installation
1. Ensure all components are present before beginning installation.
2. Remove back panels and non-fixed shelves.
3. To install the legs, turn the carcass upside down on a so surface.
4. Fix the leg brackets to the base of the unit(s) using the pilot holes provided.
See Fig. 1.
5. Ensure the tab is in the correct position overlapping the carcass side panel.
See Fig. 1.
6. For a BTW unit, fix the leg bracket into the pre-drilled holes using the screws
provided. See Fig. 2.
7. Insert the legs into the leg brackets.
8. Adjust the legs to the required height by turning the feet. The HiB standard
plinth height is 15cm, see Fig. 3.
9. Position the units together in the configuration required against the wall.
Using a suitably sized spirit level, adjust the feet to level the units.
10. Clamp the units together. Using the screws and pre-drilled holes provided,
secure the units together, see Fig. 4.
11. Check the level of the units using a suitable spirit level and adjust the feet
where necessary.
12. Secure the units to the wall using the pre-installed hangers.
13. Check units are square against the wall and adjust where necessary.
14. Replace all back panels and shelves.
Screws and pre-drilled holes in the carcass have been supplied to secure the
end panels to the carcass.
To fit the countertop, please refer to the fitting instructions supplied
with the countertop.

Plinth Installation
1. Measure the width and height required, see Fig. 5. HiB recommends installing
plinths 2mm from the floor.
2. If installing a BTW unit, a return piece will need to be cut from the plinth. HiB
recommends a return of 65mm, see Fig. 6.
3. Always double check measurements before cutting. Cut the plinth to size.
4. Measure and mark the carcass leg centres on the back face of the plinth. See
Fig. 7.
5. Fix the brackets to the plinth using the screws provided.
6. If a plinth return is required, fix to the plinth in the appropriate location using
the screws provided.
7. Prior to installing, seal all cut edges using the sealant provided.
8. Secure the plinth to the carcass legs.

Wall Hung Installation
1. Ensure all components are present before beginning installation.
2. Remove back panels and non-fixed shelves.
3. Plan the unit position on the wall. HiB recommends the installation heights
shown in Fig. 8.
4. Loosely fix the units to the wall using the pre-installed hangers in the
configuration required. Do not secure at this stage.
5. Using a suitably sized spirit level, align the units and secure together using the
predrilled holes and screws provided. See Fig. 11 for hanger adjustment.
6. Secure the units to the wall.
7. Slide the back panel back into position and replace shelves.
8. Measure and cut any end panels and infill panels required, see Fig. 9. Seal all
cut edges, see Fig. 10. HiB recommends positioning the cut edge at the top of
the unit.
Screws and pre-drilled holes in the carcass have been supplied to secure the
end panels to the carcass.
To fit the countertop, please refer to the fitting instructions supplied
with the countertop.

Door Installation and Adjustment
1. Release the hinge plate from hinges, see Fig. 12.
2. Push the hinge plate into the pre-drilled holes provided and secure into place
using the screws provided. HiB advises against using an impact driver. When
installing a single door unit, take note of the le hand / right hand orientation
prior to installation.
3. Reattach the hinges to the hinge plates.
4. Adjust the hinges as required, see Fig. 13.
Top Panel Installation
BTW Front Panel Installation
1. Align the clips on the top panel with the clips on the carcass.
2. Push the top panel into the clips to secure, see Fig. 14.
1. The BTW front panel is designed to suit a 15cm plinth height.
2. Secure the front panel to the carcass by aligning the clip fixings and slot into
place, see Fig. 15.

Handle Installation
Profile Handle
Pre-drilled pilot holes have not been supplied for this handle.
1. Plan the position of the handles on the doors.
2. Mark the hole centres and pre-drill pilot holes using a suitable drill-bit.
3. Using the screws provided, secure the handle into place. Do not over-tighten.
Bar Handle & Holton Handles
1. Locate the pre-drilled pilot holes on the back face of the door/drawer.
2. Clamp a clean piece of MDF behind the drill location of the door prior to
drilling.
3. Drill holes required.
4. Using the screws provided, secure the handles into place. Do not over-
tighten.
Drawer Installation and Adjustment
1. HiB recommends fixing handles to the drawer box prior to installing the
drawers. See the Handle Installation section below.
2. Align the drawer onto the runners ensuring the rear hooks are located in the
holes on the rear of the drawer box, see Fig. 16.
3. Ensure that the locator pin on the front of the runner, see Fig. 17, is aligned
with the hole predrilled on the base of the drawer.
4. Push the drawer shut to check the alignment of the drawer. Adjust using the
adjustment wheel on the drawer runner, see Fig. 17.
5. If additional adjustment is required locate the central screw behind the drawer
front in the drawer box. Loosen the screw, adjust the drawer front into position
and then tighten the screw, see Fig. 18.
6. Push the drawer shut to finish.

Care & Maintenance
Aftercare
Replacement components can be purchased from your retailer, quote the
article number found on the Care & Maintenance label located on your furniture
component. See example below:
In the unlikely event that this product should fail please contact the retailer from
which the item was purchased.
Furniture
To preserve the high quality finish of your HiB product, please ensure you regard
the following care and cleaning recommendations:
• Use only a so damp cloth.
• Wipe off all water spillages as soon as possible.
• Do not use any abrasives or solvents.
• Ensure adequate ventilation is maintained in the bathroom.
Handles
HiB recommends cleaning with the use of a dry, lint free cloth or wiping the
product using a so cloth with beeswax.
Under no circumstances should any form of metal cleaner, aerosol spray cleaner
or solvent based abrasive cleaning solutions be applied to our products as these
can remove protective lacquers. If such cleaning agents are used, products can
become damaged, which may invalidate any warranty.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
All cut edges must be sealed
