Icom OPC-2218 LU User manual

Thank you for purchasing the OPC-2218LU data
cable. The cable is used to connect an Icom
transceiver/receiver to a PC for data cloning, using
Icom cloning software.
Download the USB driver and the installation guide
from the Icom website.
Please read these instructions thoroughly before
using your data cable.

CAUTION: USE ONLY INDOORS! NEVER expose the
data cable to rain, snow or any liquids.
CAUTION: NEVER let metal, wire, or other objects touch
any internal part of the connectors.
CAUTION: NEVER use a USB cable other than the OPC-
1637. DO NOT extend the USB cable. If a different cable or
a cable longer than 1.5 m (4.9 ft) is used, a data error may
occur.
DO NOT use harsh solvents such as benzine or alcohol
when cleaning, as they will damage the cables.
Ensure that your PC supports USB port operation by
confirming the Universal Serial Bus controller is in the PC’s
Device Manager.
Connect the data cable (OPC-2218LU) to the USB cable
(OPC-1637), then connect the USB cable to the PC’s USB
port directly, or to a self-powered USB hub.
Approximately 20 mA of current is required for the data
cable. Insufficient current capacity of the USB port can
cause unstable cloning operation and a cloning error.

Download and install the latest OPC-2218LU USB
driver from the Icom website before you connect the
OPC-2218LU and OPC-1637 to your PC.
NOTE: If you have already installed the OPC-
478UC USB driver, the OPC-2218LU cable can
immediately be used.
A PC with the following is required:
• Microsoft®Windows® 10 32 bit/64 bit
Microsoft®Windows® 8.1 32 bit/64 bit
Microsoft®Windows® 7 32 bit/64 bit
• A USB 1.1 or 2.0 port
The USB driver cannot be used with “RT” versions
of Microsoft®Windows®8.1.
CAUTION:
Install the USB driver before you connect the data
cable to the PC.
Never connect the data cable to the PC until the
USB driver installation has been completed.
If you have connected the cable, remove it and
then install the USB driver.

Download the USB (Universal Serial Bus) driver in order to use your OPC-2218LU.

• One has a “B” marked on the label.
The previous (unmarked) OPC-2218LU is NOT usable with

◎ 付属のUSBケーブル以外をご使用になると、クローニング中に誤
動作することがありますので、必ず付属のUSBケーブル(OPC-
1637)をご使用ください。
◎ 約20mAの電流が必要ですので、キーボードなど、小電力機器の
[USB]ポートでは使用できません。
※ [USB]ポートで多くの機器を使用している場合は、十分な電力が供給
できないため、クローニング中に誤動作することがあります。
◎ USB HUBに接続してご使用になる場合は、セルフパワー対応
ポートに接続してください。
※ セルフパワーについては、ご使用になるUSB HUBの取扱説明書でご
確認ください。

ふだんは、乾いたやわらかい布でふき、汚れのひどいときは、水を
含ませたやわらかい布をかたく絞ってふいてください。
ただし、ケーブルの接続端子は、絶対に水を含ませた布でふかない
でください。
◎ 本製品を抜き差しするときは、無理な力を加えないでください。

◎[USB]ポート(USB1.1/USB2.0)を装備するパソコンに対
応します。
◎本製品のUSBドライバーは、次の日本語OSで動作するパソ

クセスして、USB ドライバーをダウンロードします。
※ 本書では、Microsoft® Windows® 10 を例に説明してい
ます。
弊社ホームページにアクセスし、下記の画面にしたがって操作
してください。

ドライバーのダウンロードを開始します。

ダウンロード完了後、ブラウザーの下部に以下の画面が表示さ
れたら、「フォルダーを開く(P)」をクリックします。

※ ダウンロードしたファイルは、圧縮ファイル(ZIP形式)になってい
ますので、右クリックし、「すべて展開（T）...」を選択してください。
弊社ホームページに掲載のOPC-2218LU インストールガイ
ド[Windows 10編]にしたがって、USBドライバーをインス
トールしてください。

7については、生成されたフォルダーに格納されているインス
トールガイドにしたがってUSBドライバーをインストールし
てください。

動作環境について
データ通信ケーブルを接続する前に、USBドライバー
を イ ン スト ー ル し て く だ さ い 。
インストールする前にケーブルを接続した場合は、ケーブ
ルをはずし、インストールを開始してください。
※ インストールする前にケーブルを接続すると、適切なUSBドライ
バーが認識されません。
◎ OPC-478UC用USBドライバーがインストールされている場
合は、OPC-2218LUをそのままご使用いただけます。 OPC-
2218LU用USBドライバーのインストールは必要ありません。
◎ USBドライバーインストールガイド(PDFファイル)をご覧になる
ためには、Adobe Acrobat Readerが必要です。お持ちでない場
合は、Adobeホームページからソフトウェアをダウンロードして
ください。
