Press the icon to access the Settings menu. Adjust the language, the date and time, and the
display brightness.
Defining microplates and dispense program
The plate library is used to define the dimensions of the used microplates. In the Main Menu click on
library and New. Enter the plate type, the well number, and the heights.
From the Main Menu select New Dispense to set up and save a dispense program.
Installing the dispensing cassette
Follow the instructions of the tutorial displayed when opening the hood (a).
•Hold the cassette with one hand, the tubings are showing
backwards.
•Insert the four pins of the cassette into the slots of the holder.
•Move the front part of the cassette down until the two pins audibly
click into position.
•Move the rear part down, the lever (g) turns to the closed lock ( ).
•Place the tubings in the opening of the holder and close the hood.
1. Hang the tubing ends with the weight into the reagent vessel.
2. Select a previously defined dispense program from the Main Menu.
3. Press Prime until liquid is dispensed from the nozzles.
4. Press Run to start the dispense program.
5. At the end of the program –if your protocol allows –press and keep Recover to pull the liquid
from the tubings back into the source container.
6. Release the tubing tension by turning the lever (g) to the right as far as possible ( ). This rest
position will extend the life of the cassette.
7. Before prolonged standby, flush the cassette and store it in the original tray.
If you want to pause the program, press Pause.
Always switch off the device and disconnected form the electricity supply when carrying
out maintenance work.
•Use one of the cleaning programs to flush the tubings of the dispensing cassette with deionized
water or, if necessary, with washing detergent or 70 % ethanol followed with deionized water.
Aspirate air to empty the tubings. Remove the cassette and store it in the original tray.
•The dispensing cassettes can be autoclaved at 121 °C for 20 min.
•Clean the WELLJET housing with a lint-free cloth lightly soaked with mild soap solution in
distilled water or with a 70 % solution of isopropanol or ethanol.
•To decontaminate the WELLJET, wipe the clean instrument surface with a lint-free cloth lightly
soaked with a suitable disinfectant and wipe dry directly. The device may be decontaminated
with H2O2gas (maximal concentration 35 %) for 60 minutes.
