•Introduction
The Keypad (5722 93 - 5727 93), is an integral part of the Multi-Room Audio System. It is a component which, when combined with other essential compo-
nents (a Source Input Unit, Distribution Module and Speakers) and your source equipment (receiver, CD player, etc.), creates a versatile wholehouse audio
system that will fill your rooms with high-quality sound for years to come. It uses Category 5 wiring to distribute audio signals, control information and IR for
remote control. The Keypad also contains a full set of features, including the integrated ability to control all other keypad volume controls in the house.

•Installation
Installation of the Category 5e Audio Keypad Volume Control is best accomplished at multiple times during new construction, at “First fix” before
the drywall is installed, and at “Trim-out” after the drywall is installed and painted.
NOTE: Before connecting the volume controls: Make sure the power supply is not connected to the Category 5e Audio Distribution
Module. Make sure the input on the Single Source Input is not connected to power. Install volume controls last so you can make any
volume trim adjustments on the volume control before installing it into the wall. For instructions on pre-wiring and installing other com-
ponents of the Category 5e Audio System, please see the Instruction Sheets included with those components.
NOTE: All wiring should be terminated to the TIA-570-B wiring standard as shown in this document. Failure to follow the correct wiring
standard could result in damaged equipment.

A.“First fix” steps:
1- A single Category 5e cable should be run from the enclosure location to a double gang outlet box at each Volume Control location.
B.“Second fix” steps:
1- Terminate all volume controls by connecting the prewired Category 5e cable. Maintain less than 13 mm of untwisting of pairs.
NOTE: By default, the keypad volume control is preset to operate in a Category 5 Audio System where all other volume controls in the
system are keypads as well. The Audio System must be in ALL KEYPAD mode for WHOLE HOUSE commands to be available. In MIXED
systems, the keypad remote controls in the system will respond to ROOM commands only.

2- Speaker / Subwoofer / Line Out connections (see Figure 2):
NOTE: Polarity and channels are clearly marked (L+, L-, R+, R-) for proper identification during installation.
a)Use the terminal connectors labeled “Speakers” to connect standard audio speakers (8 Ohm only) to the volume control.
b)Use the terminal connectors labeled “Line Out” to connect either a powered subwoofer or an external amplifier to the volume control. These con-
nection terminals do not provide any amplification but the volume control on the keypad controls the output level of this connection.
3- Mounting: check all connections and test the system’s operation before installing the volume controls into the wall. Use the included screws to
install the volume control and wallplate into a standard double gang box.
4- Power Up Self Test: when power is initially applied to the keypad volume control, the following start up test will occur in the following order.
- The blue keypad backlights will blink, then increment and stay on. - Each Source LED will blink green, incrementing down. - The Mute LED
will blink red. - The Status/IR LED will blink green then red. - Each volume LED will light, first dim, then bright, and stay on, incrementing up
until all are brightly lit. - All LEDs, including the blue backlights, will go out, and the keypad volume control will be in the OFF state.
2- Speaker / Subwoofer / Line Out connections (see Figure 2): (Non taduit)

4- 上电自测：当初次向键盘音量控制通电的时候，按下列顺序进行起动试验。—蓝色键盘背光灯闪烁，然后变亮并持续稳定发亮。—每个源发光二极管
（LED)闪绿灯，变暗。—静音发光二极管（LED)闪红灯。— 状态/红外发光二极管（LED)先闪绿灯，后闪红灯。—每个音量发光二极管（LED)亮，先调
光，后变亮，然后稳定发亮，再慢慢变亮，直至所有的灯都达到最亮。—所有的发光二极管（LED)（包括蓝色背光灯）熄灭，键盘音量控制处于OFF(关
闭）状态。

Wiring architecture
1- ON/OFF: Keypad – Press any button for ON / Press and hold MUTE button for OFF (see Figure 4).
Remote – After pressing Legrand button, press On/Off button to toggle ON or OFF (see Figure 4).
2- SOURCE select: Keypad – Press SOURCE button multiple times (see Figure 3).
Remote – Press SOURCE UP or DOWN button to select desired source.(see Figure 3).
NOTE: Upon source change, volume ramps down and then back up automatically.
3- Volume Steps: Keypad or Remote – Press VOLUME UP or DOWN button (40 steps for Keypad / 36 steps for Remote).
4- Mute: Keypad or Remote – Press MUTE button to toggle On or Off.
5- Back Light Level Adjust: Keypad – Press and hold VOLUME UP and DOWN buttons simultaneously. The button back lights will flash to indicate
they may be adjusted. Press VOLUME UP or DOWN button to adjust back light level. Press SOURCE or MUTE button to exit or wait for 10 second
time out.
NOTE: When any Keypad button is tapped, back light level goes to full bright and returns to the adjusted level when activity ceases. For
Remote operation, the back light goes to full bright when an IR command is received and returns to the
adjusted level when activity ceases.
6- Temporary Do Not Disturb (DND): Keypad – Double tap MUTE button, Status/IR LED glows dim RED.
NOTE: When Keypad is in temporary DND mode, it will NOT respond to whole house commands from other locations. Press any button to
disable temporary DND mode.

5- 背光灯亮度调节: 键盘– 同时按住（音量增大）或 DOWN（音量降低）按钮不放. 按钮背光闪烁，表示它们可以调节，按住（音量增大）或 DOWN（音量
降低）按钮调节背光灯的亮度，按住SOURCE（源）或 MUTE（静音）按钮退出或等10秒钟便停止
注意：在触摸键盘任何按钮的时候，背光灯变到最亮，在停止的时候，又回到调节的亮度。如果是遥控操作，在接收到红外（IR）指令的时候，背光灯变到最
亮，在停止的时候，又回到调节的亮度。
6- 临时请勿打扰(DND): 键盘 – 双击MUTE（静音）按钮, Status/IR（状态/红外）发光二极管（LED）发亮并调光至红色（RED）
注意：当键盘处于临时请勿打扰(DND)模式的时候, 不会响应从其它地方发出的整栋楼的指令，按任何按钮关闭临时请勿打扰(DND)模式

NOTE: In this mode, every operation performed on this keypad will be relayed to all keypads in the system.

NOTE: The other keypads that are on and not in DND mode momentarily
flash their Volume Bar Graph LEDs (indicating they are under Whole House
control). Their IR /Status LED also blinks orange.

In this mode, all functions performed on the local keypad such as Volume Up/
Down, Mute, Source selection, or Power Up/Down are relayed to and performed
on all active keypads in the system.
NOTE: There are also two special SOURCE commands that may be issued

1In Whole-House Source Control Mode, when the SOURCE button is pressed and held down, a command will be issued for all keypads to turn on
and go to the selected source.

2In Whole-House Source Control Mode, a double press on the SOURCE button means a command will be issued for all active keypads to go to
the source that the local keypad is currently on. This conveniently enables synchronisation on the same source without having to go through all
the selections. For exemple, if the user is listening to source #3, and wants to perform Whole House commands to get everyone else to listen to
it, if they simply go into Whole-House Source Control mode and press the SOURCE button this will cause everyone to go to #4, then #1, then #2
and finally to #3, while a double press will cause every active keypad to go directly to Source #3.
