この度は、本製品をお買い上げいただきまして誠にありがとうございます。
本冗長ファンを本体装置へ取付ける際には本体装置に添付の「使用上のご注意」に記載されている
内容をよく読んでご理解し、安全にご活用ください。
また、取り付けにあたっては、最寄りの保守サービス会社に依頼することをお勧めします。

安全上のご注意を無視する取り扱いを行うと、装置の故障、人体事故、火災・周囲の機器の損傷を
引き起こす原因となることがあります。
電源プラグを抜く
オプションの取り付け、取り外し時は電源プラグをコンセントから抜
き、外部装置と接続しているケーブルを外してください。
故障や感電する恐れがあります。
感電注意
分解禁止
発火注意
本書に記載されている場合を除き、絶対に分解したり、修理・改造を
行ったりしないでください。装置が正常に動作しなくなるばかりでな
く、感電や火災の危険があります。

取り扱い上の注意事項
冗長ファンを箱から取り出した後は、次の注意事項を必ずお守りください。
zほこりの多い場所や大気中に硫黄の蒸気が発生する場所及び、水などの液体のかかるおそれ
のある場所に置かないでください。
z強い磁気を発生させるものの近くに置かないでください。
第三者への譲渡
本製品を第三者へ譲渡（または売却）する場合には、本書を一緒にお渡しください。

増設ファンの取り付け
１．準備確認事項
(1) 危険防止及び故障防止のため、作業を行なう際は本体装置の電源スイッチをOFFにし、電源プ
ラグをコンセントから抜いてください。
(2) 本体装置のユーザーズガイドを参照し、サイドカバー等を取り外してください。
２．増設手順
(1) 増設ファンの取り付け
①リアファンを固定しているネジ(２本)を
取り外す。
②ファンを持ち上げケーブルを取り外す。
③ファンの取り付けられたファンブラケットを取り付ける。

④ファンブラケットを手順①で取り外した
ネジ(２本)で取り付ける。
⑧マザーボード上のジャンパピン(OP_FAN)を上側にずらし、オプションのファンユニットの
ケーブル(２本)をマザーボード上のコネクタに接続する。
ESMPROで正確な管理をするため、接続を間違えないでください。
⑨取り外した部品を取り付けます。
※詳しくは本体装置に添付のEXPRESSBUILDERに含まれるユーザーズガイドを参照してください。
リア標準ファン用(ＦＡＮ１コネクタ)
※オプションファンの場合は筐体
外側のFANを接続してください。

Thank you very much for purchasing the N8181-67 Redundant Fan Unit.
Before installing the Redundant Fan Unit, carefully read the "Notes on Use" described in the User's Guide
coming with your server to fully understand them.
It is recommended to ask your service representative for installation of the Redundant Fan Unit.
WARNING
Use of the server ignoring the Notes on Safety may cause malfunctions or failures of the server,
personal injury, fire, and/or damages of surrounding devices to occur.
Unplug the

Make sure to power off the server and unplug the power cord from a power
outlet and disconnect all the cables connected with the external devices
before installing/removing any optional device to/from the server. Failure to
follow this instruction may cause an electric hazard or failure of the server.

Do not disassemble, repair, or modify the product unless the procedure is
described in this manual. Failure to follow it may cause the server to
operate incorrectly, people to be electrically shocked, or fire to occur.

Precautions on Handling
Observe the following after unpacking the redundant fan unit.
Do not place fan unit in a place with much dust, corrosive gas in presence, or with possibilities of
chemicals or liquid sprayed over.
Do not place the fan unit near equipment which generates intense magnetic field.
Transfer to Third Party
When you transfer (or sell) the Redundant Fan Unit to a third party, also give this guide to the party.

INSTALLING REDUNDANT FAN UNIT
Preparation
1. Power off the server and unplug the power cord from the power outlet before starting installation.
2. Remove the side cover and other components according to "Preparing for Installation and Removal"
described in the User's Guide.
Installation
Take the following steps to install the additional fans.
1. Remove the two screws from the rear fan unit.
2. Lift the fan, then disconnect the fan cable.

3. Install the fan bracket to which the redundant fan is mounted.
4. Secure the fan bracket with two screws removed in Step 1.

5. Move the jumper pin for optional fan unit on mother board. Connect the two cooling fan cables (for
optional fan unit) to the connectors on mother board.
Take care to connect the cable to the proper connector. Otherwise, NEC ESMPRO will fail to monitor
the server.
6. Install the components you have removed.
NOTE: For more information, refer to the User's Guide contained in NEC
EXPRESSBUILDER DVD coming with your server.
