本増設 CPU ボードを本体装置へ取り付ける際には、本体装置に添付の使用上のご注意に記載されている内容を
よく読んでご理解し、安全にご活用ください。
また、増設にあたっては、最寄りの保守サービスセンターに依頼することをお勧めします。

安全上のご注意を無視する取り扱いを行うと、装置の故障、人体事故、火災・周囲の機器の損傷を
引き起こす原因となることがあります。
電源プラグを抜く
オプションの取り付け、取り外し時は電源プラグをコンセントから抜
き、外部装置と接続しているケーブルを外してください。
故障や感電する恐れがあります。

本書に記載されている場合を除き、絶対に分解したり、修理・改造を
行ったりしないでください。装置が正常に動作しなくなるばかりでな
く、感電や火災の危険があります。

N8401-032/033 増設 CPU は、NEC BladeServer シリーズ用(以下「CPU ブレード」と呼ぶ)の増設 CPU です。
本製品を正しく動作させるために本書の内容をよくお読みになった上で取り付けてください。

■ 取り扱い上の注意事項
増設 CPU を箱から取り出した後は、次の注意事項を必ずお守りください。
●ほこりの多い場所や大気中に硫黄の蒸気が発生する場所及び、水などの液体のかかるおそれのある場所
に置かないでください。
●強い磁気を発生させるものの近くに置かないでください。
●ソケットの接点には触れないでください。
●CPU の底面(端子部)に触れないでください。
■ 増設 CPU の取り付け
CPU ブレードおよびブレード収納ユニットのユーザーズガイド
に従い、正しい順序で取り付けてください。
増設ＣＰＵを取り付けるときは、次の事項にご注意ください。
●CPU のピンマークをソケットのピンマークにあわせて
差し込んでください。
●CPU を傾けたり、滑らせたりせずにソケットにまっすぐ
おろしてください。
取り付け後、ハードウェアの構成情報を更新するために
「Advanced」メニューの「Reset Configuration Data」を
「Yes」にしてください。
詳しくは、本体装置に添付の EXPRESSBUILDER にある
ユーザーズガイドを参照してください。

BEFORE ASSEMBLING
Before installing this Additional CPU Kit in your Basic Processing Unit (including Express
Server), read the precautions found in the Notice on Installation supplied with the Basic
Processing Unit.
Please pull out a power supply plug of fundamental management equipment inevitably, before do a
construction work.
We recommend that you have your local service/maintenance center do this expansion work.
WARNING
If you disregard caution, it causes a trouble of a device, human body trouble, and a damage of a fire
neighboring machine.
A power supply plug is pulled out.
Make sure to power off the NEC Express server and
disconnect the power plugs from all power outlets before
cleaning or installing/removing internal optional devices.
Touching any internal device of the NEC Express server with
its power cord connected to a power source may cause an
electric shock even of the NEC Express server is off-powered.

Do not disassemble, repair, or alter the NEC Express server.
Never attempt to disassemble, repair, or alter the NEC
Express server on any occasion other than described in this
User’s Guide. Failure to follow this instruction may cause an
electric shock or fire as well as malfunctions of the server.

N8401-032/033 is an expansion kit for your system. The CPU kit substantially increases your
system speed and responsiveness. Users benefit through increased productivity –complete more
work in a day or spend the time saved to improve work quality.
Read this guide carefully for proper installation.

■ Components
After you unpack the package, check if it contains the following.
●Processor
●Heat Sink
●Additional CPU Kit Setup Card (This Manual)
■ Caution
Follow these notes when you install the CPU Kit.
●Do not put the Additional CPU in a dusty place.
●Do not put the Additional CPU in a place where water or liquid is likely to splash onto the board.
●Do not put the Additional CPU in a place where steam of sulfur occurs in the air.
●Do not put the Additional CPU in magnetic field.
●Do not touch terminal part of Additional CPU.
●Do not touch contact of Additional CPU socket.
■ Installation of Additional CPU
According to the User’s Guide of the CPU blade
and the Blade
Assembly Unit, install the additional CPU Kit.
■ IMPORTANT:
●It inserts in accordance with the pin mark of CPU and
a socket.
●Do not tilt the CPU or do not slide into the CPU socket.
After Installation, select [Advanced] - [Reset Configuration Data]
in the [Advanced] menu and set [Reset Configuration Data] to
[Yes].
(See your User’s Guide which is in the EXPRESSBUILDER for detail.)
■ Transfer of the Unit to a Third Party
When transferring (or selling) the unit to a third party, give this operation manual to that party.
