２Preparation
(１)Confirm the battery fully charged.
(２)Enter the SD card.
(３)Connect the probe to the gas inlet.
３Measuring
（１）Power on the Power Switch.
（２）After the Start-up screen, the system starts 10min.-countdown.

（３）After “STAND-BY”screen, the screen changes as below.
If you select “EMP-2+WLE”, you must inject two solutions into WLE in advance.
WLE connection
Select “EMP-2+WLE”with MENU screen.
WLE solution injection
When you press the start-stop button for 1 to 3 sec, WLE solution injection starts
※If you press the START button without injecting WLE solutions, a warning is
displayed and the measurement does not start.
＜WLE solution injection＞＜Warning＞
Whenever pushing “START”on LCD, the pump starts running and “Auto-Zeroing”is performed.
After Zeroing, the measurement starts and repeats 4min 50sec of measuring and 10sec of zeroing.
There are three Measuring screens, being switched over by touching the screen.

Confirm the display is not key-locked. Because you can’t control the screen
during Key-locked.
Confirm the SD card is slotted and confirm the icon on the screen.
If not, the results can’t be saved.
Confirm the “Interference Check”icon to be . If it is ,
The measurements are not fulfilled.

②Level Meter Display
Be effective to see the current reading visually, especially against the alarm level.
Set the full scale properly so that the alarm level is red area.
②Chronological Order Display
Be effective to see the results in chronological order.
Set the full scale properly so that the alarm level is red area.
（４）When terminating measurements, press “STOP”.
Confirm the display is not key-locked. Because you can’t control the screen
during Key-locked.

（５）Turn off the “POWER”switch when the measurements are completed.
If you select “EMP-2+WLE”, you must discharge WLE solution before power-off.

４Cautionary Instructions
(１)Data saving
All data are saved on SD Card.
Confirm the icon before starting.
(２)Key-locked function
When pressing the screen longer, the screen is locked and any functions on the screen
are not available.
To cancel the key-lock, press the screen again so that the icon disappears.
(3) Interferences
If sample gases contain interferences such as Hydrocarbons, the readings may contain positive
errors. When the readings are supposed to be doubtful, press the “Interference Check”.
( )
-When the reading is decreasing to Zero, the reading is definitely “mercury”.
-When the reading does not reach to Zero, the current reading is due to interferences.
If the interferences are stable, this influence is automatically compensated during Zeroing.

５Various Functions
(１)Full Scale
When pressing MENU/Setting/Full Scale, Full Scale can be set.
Enter the number of Full Scale.
(２)Alarm Level
When the readings are close the alarm level, the beeping sounds are changing.
When the readings are exceeding the level, the beeping sounds are keeping and the back ground
of the screen is blinking.
※If “0”is entered, this function is not available.
How to set the Warning Level
When pressing MENU/Setting/Warning Level, the Warning Level can be set.
Enter the number of the Warning Level.

(３)Measuring Mode
Three Measuring Modes are available.
①Normal Measuring Mode（MANUAL MODE）
When you carry EMP-2 on your shoulder during measuring, use this Mode.
Whenever you want to stop, press the “START/STOP”.
The readings are in unit of １μg/m3.
②１min Measuring Mode（1MIN MODE）
Same as the above Mode, but the measuring time is just one minute.
The readings are in unit of １μg/m3.
③Static Measuring Mode(STATIC MODE)
Select for low-level measurements.
Keep EMP-2 on the static and horizontal desk and never carry under this Mode.
Whenever you want to stop, press the “START/STOP”.
The readings are in unit of 0.１μg/m3.
How to set the MODE
Press MENU/Setting/Measurement Mode and select the Measuring Mode.

(４)WLE solution replacing cycle
Set WLE solution replacing cycle.
When pressing MENU/Setting/ WLE Cycle, WLE Cycle can be set.

Set WLE solution replacement time
When pressing MENU/Setting/ Replacing Time, Replacing Time can be set.

６Measuring Data
Instantaneous data and the average of each measurement numbers are saved on the SD card.
（１）Instantaneous Data
The instantaneous data are stored in the file”EMP2\date\measuring number Cur.csv”.
(Ex：No.5 data on 12/15/2010is stored in “EMP2\101215\005Cur.csv”)
（２）Average Data
The average data are stored in the file “EMP2\date\Ave.csv”.
(Ex：No.5 Average on 12/15/2010 is stored in “EMP2\101215\Ave.csv”.)
The data includes Measuring number, Date, Start time, Ending time, Normalization Temp,
Maximum value and Average value. If the scale over is observed, it is notified as “OVER”.
４．Battery Charging
Confirm the POWER switch is off and connect the battery charger.
The charging time is approx. 8hrs. EMP-2 is continuously running for about 5 hrs after fully charged.
Be sure that the POWER is off bwfore charging.

The battery can be charged out of the EMP-2.
The residual amount of the battery and the charging condition can be confirmed on the LED.

The charging is completed 1~2hrs later after Green LED is lightened.
The residual amount of the battery can be confirmed any time by pressing the button beside the LED.
