1. Overview
The LP-WA vaporizes LPG/natural gas sampled into a high pressure cylinder. It is a
pretreatment unit for measurements by the WA-5A/F.
2. Configuration/specifications
1) Objects to be measured: LP gas, Natural gas ; Filling pressure 10MPa or lower
2) Dimension/Weight: 230W x 370D x 490H, 11kg
3) Power supply
Power voltage: Single phase 200 to 240V, 50/60Hz
Voltage fluctuation: Within ±5%
Capacity: 110VA (3 pole plug)
Fuse: 10A
Power quality: No surges, harmonics, or noise.
Distance from power outlet to the system: Within 2m. Grounding required.
4) Cylinder size: 1L Max.
5) Line filter: PEEK 2μm
6) Regulator: Heating temperature 90°C Max.
Parts exposed to the gas are coated with silica.
Valve seats are made of PCTFE.
3. Precautions for use
1) Since historical data of the previous measurement remains about 5% due to the
configuration of the system, a low-concentration gas measurement is impossible immediately
after a high-concentration gas measurement. In such a case, be sure to perform the blank
measurement and check the blank values before proceeding to the next measurement.
2) This system is not explosion proof. Be careful of any gas leak, particularly from the
connection between the cylinder and the heated regulator.

5. Connection/Preparation
1) For any other cylinder than that provided by us, the quick connector should be provided by
the user. Connect the line filter with a PT1/4”thread.
2) Connect the outlet of the LP-WA and the inlet of the WA-5 with 4 mm Teflon tube.
3) Connect the outlet of the integrating gas meter of WA-5 to the draft.
4) Turn ON the power. The pilot lamp on the front lights up and the exhaust fan starts running. It
takes about 10minutes for the temperature of the heated regulator to rise.
6. Setup
1) Select [System] tab and then [GAS METER + LPG] from the options.

2) The LP-WA and the integrating gas meter are added to the block diagram on the screen.
6.Measurement
1) Create a calibration curve according to the instruction manual of the WA-5A/F.
2) Connect the cylinder.
3) First, close (turn counterclockwise) the pressure control valve.
4) Open the stopcock of the cylinder slowly.
5) Open (turn clockwise) the pressure control valve gradually to adjust the pressure to around
0.02Mpa.
6) At first, the air of the piping of the LP-WA is not completely displaced so the system will ask
you whether the gas flushing should be performed or not.
Press YES and the purge measurement starts automatically as shown in Table below, which
continues for one minute in the sample case. The data of this sample case is excluded from the
statistical calculation.

7. Blank measurement
1) If the blank of the LP-WA is non-negligible in a low-concentration measurement
(≤0.1μg/m3), connect nitrogen gas system or a clean air compressor to the LP-WA to
adjust the pressure, perform the sampling for the same period of time, and then subtract
the obtained value as the blank value, from the actually measured value.
2) Select [LPG. Blank] from the sample names.
8. Change of the sample gas cylinder
Whenever a cylinder is changed, any residual pressure between the cylinder and the regulator
must be removed after the last measurement.
Select [Relieve Residual Pressure] or the icon on the right end. The pressure is then
automatically relieved.

9. Maintenance
9-1. How to change the line filter
1) Remove the cylinder.
2) Disconnect the joint under the line filter.
3) Remove three screws that fasten the quick joint.
4) Disassemble the line filter.
Disconnect the joint.
Remove screws.

5) Install the filter so that the side on which the filter surface is lower than the gasket rim
faces upward (towards the cylinder).
9-2. Method to reduce the blank by water cleaning
After a high-concentration measurement, the blank reduces gradually by the blank
measurement using nitrogen gas or a clean-air compressor, but if the blank is slow to drop, fill
the impinger with distilled water, put it in a hot water bath as shown in the figure below and
steam-clean it for 30 to 60 minutes. Be sure to disconnect the outlet of the LP-WA and connect
it to the draft.
Using cable ties or clamps, ensure tight connections of the parts that can be pulled out by the
